if your ecu has already been remapped then uk clocks will work fine and should read correctly. You dont need to change to a uk spec ecu. The autobox has its own ecu which would not be used when converting to manual. You dont need to remove it, it just wont send any info to the ecu. A couple of wiring differences from the autobox to manual, but nothing needs doing at the ecu end. sounds like the climate ecu is dead, im changing mine to a series 2 this week so will have a spare you can try, unless you can get hold of one sooner. Cheers Graham

The cheap ebay delimiter boxes can cause the problems you have described, Sometimes you can get a good one and have no problems, but the odd one slips through. I had the same problem with one i had fitted, speedo wouldnt register below 10-15mph, it does affect the power steering and gearchanges in an autobox because of the incorrect signal being sent to the ecu's. The best way forward is to get yourself a set of UK clocks and get your ecu remapped. Having the ecu remapped will remove the rev limiter and the speed restrictor. It would be dry joints on the pcb board at the back of the speedo clock if you had intermittent readings, the problems you describe are definitley connected to the delimiter box wired to the speedo. HTH

the easiest place to connect the light feed for el dials are the 2 screws at the bottom of the dash binnacle, as you look at the clocks the left screw is the live and the right is ground. When connected, turn on your light switch and they will work, with the dimmer aswell. Hth

Have you checked the fuses in the drivers footwell, if they are ok, it is likely to be the climate ecu. It is a little black box about 10"x6" in the drivers footwell next to the clutch pedal just behind the centre console. HTH

Hi Maz Unlikely a bulb causing it, i had a similar problem when i had a delimiter box fitted, if its lose ie:not taped or cable tied tightly to something, it tends to rattle around and eventually can cause problems, the wires to the clocks from the box may not be making a good connection or the most common is dry joints on the pcb board on the back of the speedo clock. You will find many threads about the same issues if you do a search. After resoldering the tracks on the board the issue 9 times out of 10 gets solved ps if you have a blue led playing up, let me know and i will send you another one to replace it HTH Cheers Graham

I dont normally post up about unimportant things that ive done, after all stella is the king of that :D ( sorry al) Went to chessington world of adventure today, took the boys and have to say really enjoyed it. Weather held off well, only a couple of light showers ended up with a zed full of cuddly toys :D The zoo and the sea life centre add another dimension to just thrill rides, although mostly for the younger kids it was a fun day, apart from queing ( i hate queing) Probably do Legoland on the next trip, well worth a visit for anyone who hasnt been yet. Hi Mark I have a momo wheel with a momo boss, it has a metal plate on the boss which makes contact with the existing metal plate on the steering column, which enables the horn to work with no modification. I would say you may have the wrong boss. Eg: i have a boss with cruise buttons that go in the horn position, but will not work in my na, its designed apparently for the tt. It has a plug and no plate. HTH Cheers Graham

Look for dull tracks, its worth retinning most of what you can see. Try not to apply too much heat in one area for too long and avoid running over solder into another part of the track. From the screw holes into the clock is where the power and signal etc go through.

There are lugs at the top and the bottom of the dash, use a small flat screwdriver and ease the top ones out first, one side at a time and the bottom will just slide out once undone

cruise control will not work below 40 mph. If you are still in kph then 60kph is about 37mph HTH

im guessing some kind of tv aerial, judging by the bnc connector. Whats it connected too.
