  1. A universal one will do the job, no pipes in the way.
  2. Hi Suzie, have a read of this, it may help regarding the key problem http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=147767&highlight=KEY+BARREL The power light flashes, will determine the possible problem, you can do your own gearbox diagnostic http://pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.214 You can get the autoselector out of park, by pushing the rod down just in front of the selector. You dont need a remap, you need to get the car put onto conzult, which is a laptop diagnostics program and it will be able to tell you what isnt running right and what sensor if any is causing the problems. Fuelling could be duff Oxygen sensors, MAF, temp sensor. You need to get your car to zedworld for a proper check up and peace of mind, Jeff and his team know these cars inside out and will be able to tell you exactly what needs to be done. They are based in Coleshill near Birmingham, so not too far for you.http://www.zedworld.co.uk Graham
  3. Ive PM'd him for you John and get yourself subscribed you lazy git, then you can do it yourself lol
  4. Nice one Howard, i want 2 in yellow please
  5. Did you manage to sort the alternator wiring?
  6. All he has done is stuck a load of fender strat stickers on some stock wheels painted purple, what planet is he living on, rare ? i think not lol
  7. Thats great, I have all the boot panels out and will box them up, just let me know when you are ready for them, in black for those. Cheers Graham
  8. Here is what ive edited for you from another site, will explain where they go. The two wire connections on the back. Use the 8mm wrench to loosen the ground wire, and the 10mm wrench to loosen the battery connection nut. Twisting the unit to get each connection point towards the floor as you disconnect the wire will give you the most clearance. 14. After the wires are disconnected, flip the unit upside down to expose the power connector. Grasp the connector firmly with your left hand and use your right thumb to depress the latch on the connector while pulling and wiggling from side to side on the connector to release it. Mine was really tight, so it may take some effort. 18. Once in place, tighten the ground wire, battery connection, and electrical connector in that order. Rotating the alt. to get the bolt you're trying to connect towards the floor will give you the most room to work with the wires.
  9. It seems to be the only sport that gets away with it lol
  10. So we didnt start the fight then?
  11. They should be in the island boxing team lol.
  12. Can you imagine painting the other halfs car in that stuff, she will park it up and when the sun comes out it changes colour and then you can believe that she couldnt find the car lol
  13. Its not grounded by the plenum. The shield is encasing the inner core/feed and terminates in the plug, to the ecu. Its like a microphone cable, which is after all what the knock sensor is.
  14. :happybday: All the best Dan, have a great day :happybday:
  15. Only one core of the wire goes to the sensor, the other core is a shield against interference and doesnt terminate to the sensor
  16. No worries mate, glad you got it sorted. Also get some contact cleaner and spray the board, youve got some oxidisation in places on the board, that can create problems in the future.
  17. Yes use a fine strand wire, from the triac to the resistor, so you are forgetting the track now and just making the contact between the two points. Make sure though the section of wire between the two points is insulated
  18. So have you sorted the track now?
  19. :happybday: All the best Lee, have a great day :happybday:
  20. The bottom of the kickpanel, nearest the door from the fuse panel. Its an opaque/white plastic box, the size of a fag packet, the connector is at the bottom of the TCU
  21. You need H3 for the dipped lights and you can get them cheaper than that. Go for the 6000k 35w or 55w and no issues with MOT. You may need to clean the inside of the projector lens.
  22. The dash and pods and anything connected to the dimmer runs through the TCU (time control unit), i had a break in one of the tracks on the board in mine, resoldered and now fine. The cig lighter and ashtray dont work off the dimmer, but come on with the light switch, so if they arent affected then check your TCU, you may have the plug out slightly where you had your fuse box apart.
  23. You might have taken your feed from here anyway, but the place place for EL dials and any additional lighting, to come on with the light switch, is to take the feed from the 2 screws on the bottom or rear of the dash.
