  1. I wouldn't go for the TVR for quality/reliability issues. I like the BM but I'd be afraid it could dish out some heafty running costs. I'd have a S14a but I'd get a one with a decent wide arch kit + top wheels already fitted. My choice would be the NSX - but they hold their monsy so they aren't cheap - autos seem to be a lot cheaper than manuals but I guess there's a rewson for that. If I had the £20k for an NSX I'd think about a Merc CL500 or a Maserati 3200 G. Mind you they're not cheap to run either. For £10K I'd get an Integra DC5. Of maybe a stunning S14a.
  2. Remeber that old ad in the 80s? Double chocadooby.
  3. I'd second that - different Zeds appeal to different people.
  4. Nice one bud! Knew you couldn't resist getting another. Now take it out of those bushes! lol
  5. He wouldn't be having HICAS problems if he still had the good old "connisieur's choice" NA!
  6. Sorry to hear all that mate. It must be gutting to have to keep pouring money into a car - I think you've been pretty much doing that since you bought it too. I'm never convinced 'cheap' runabouts are the answer... although they work for some people - I guess they're a bit of a gamble. Hard to say what the answer is - sell yours and buy another? That's another gamble too. Keep it... maybe it'll keep needing money spending. I wish I could give you a perfect answer - owning any Zed is always going to mean a risk of a big bill round the corner and that probably applies to any fast, cool looking older car you can buy cheap. What's Guvnor's sig? Something like this: "Cheap, fast, relaible - pick any two" FWIW If I was starting in 300ZX ownership now I'd buy a really nice, fresh of the boat import in the spec I wanted. Once they've been in this country a while, there's a good chance the butchers and skinflints have had their wicked way with them. If you really think the car's going to keep giving trouble, sell it and get a low miles fresh import IMHO. ps SMW1 - £60K! On an auld Datsun? Clucking bell! You could have got one of them Supras for that. ;)
  7. You evil little man! ;)
  8. One for Funky Si there I think.
  9. Looks like a tidy 'Gooner there mate.
  10. Another vote for Cordelia here. But I wouldn't say 'no' to any of them.
  11. Nice one mate. I've been speaking to a few people in the detailing world and it sounds like a growing industry and a good one to be in if that's your aim. A bet you'll be a dab hand with that machine. The polisher gets a polisher. lol
  12. No you haven't! You might look at a Civic someone else might buy.
  13. Two good friends had it done a few years back. Both were well chuffed with the results. It hurt a little for a few days afterwards but I think that's less of a problem with the latest equipment.
  14. Me at Almeria
  15. That does look much better. Nice one.
  16. Very small fists ;)
  17. I'd be especially terrified of his wife. And the clothes they wear. I think he lost his kid(?s) though - poor bloke.
  18. Now WHY didn't I listen to my own advice? It could have been my ticket out of here!
  19. Bike batteries won't last long - I think they're about 10-14 amp hours. If a HID kit draws about 35watts at 12 volts that's........ about three amps???? So a bike battery would last about 4.5 hours before being completelt flat???? I could be wrong! The best bike batteries are the red Odessey ones but they're near £100. You can get a cheapie for about £30 but I'd say get a Yuasa if you want a bike battery as the cheap ones are rubbish. If it was me I'd get a car battery - big size helps a battery and they're cheap compared to bike batteries considering their performance.
  20. Are they right for an NA as well as a TT?
  21. I heard each way on exotic dancer and kauto star. But I wouldn't even know how to put a bet on if I wanted to. Having looked at the odds, L'ami might be a better choice.
  22. My local garage gave me Zed a minor service recently. They fitted Bosch plugs (without me asking). I soon found out on here Bosch are not well thought of for the 300ZX. I think since then my fuel consumption may have been a little heavier than usual. So, if I go to replace them with NGK, what do you think will happen? The old NGK plugs still in there? I'll just break something trying and not change them at all? I'll manage to swop them sucessfully for new NGK? I'll not get round to it and do nawt?
  23. See the reader comments towards the bottom. http://www.tvthrong.co.uk/lemur-island/lemur-island-tuesday-march-21 Glad it wasn't just me who though it was a bit harsh! I hope it didn't upset too many kids.
