With my tempoary engine a little rattley from the bottom end it was obvious the bearings were going but I hoped it would last the summer. I was then going to drop in the new one and finish the engine conversion but after a night out on Friday in her I have killed the engine. Sound like a bag of spanners even at 800rpm! Had to nurse it home at 20mph this morning, even then I didn't think I would make it. It's a complete arse becuse now no driving it in summer :mad: The only thing I considered was trying to change the bearings in situ (depending on crank condition) anyone tried this before??? It would be tempoary to last until October.

Source the pipe section second hand, then you can cut it and use a ring spanner which will grip better.

I think the economy is screwed up but your right and I think the press brainwash us into thinking it is worse than it is.

Wondered how long before that word came up, I think the press make it worse! All they do is talk about the doom and gloom about the economy and it makes people more worried than they were which makes them spend less which makes the problem worse.

I had this problem, the one that drops off is dead the other reading is fine for the RHS. If you hold the revs at 2500-3000 the O2 sensor readings should go up an down constantly by quite a wide margin.

Getting mine done in October and Wales is cheaper again. Not having the bumpers done but if I take off the trim/lights etc because the body work only has a few minor marks it's less than a grand for the same colour. I know everyone will say it'll be a crap job for that money but this guy has been a sprayer for 25 years and won't let anything go out of the shop that he isn't happy with and is spot on. I've seen his work!

Depends how heavy the right foot is, driven sensibly (boring) they give better mpg. Anyway if you own Z who cares, we all like speed at any cost!:D
