No you dont need a cover... but its not just the bolt holes that have to be sorted. When you remove the spoiler you are left with a large slot that runs the width of the boot where the third stop light sits. This can be filled smooth or you can fit one of the black plastic cover strips, these come with or without a brake light. so its not Just get the holes welded up and the tailgate painted. If you go for the cover, it will cover all the mess left by the spoiler, but it comes with a raised back edge (like a little spoiler) so you dont get that smoothed off rounded look. Either way £200 labour and paint would be about right, but that's + the £100 for the parts. Chris..

  22. Really sorry to hear this tale of woe. I might be able to help with some trim and clips etc. I recently bought a badly damaged 92 JDM spec NA 2+2 cos I wanted a spare eng/box for my car. Some trim was damaged but I have kept anything that was useable. HTH I think I will be needing the rubber trims from the tail gate and the large cover trim that covers the wiper motor and all the fixings. The top mounting bolts for the seatbelts and all the washers. Also the push in fixings for the panels that go under the front wipers. Weather strips along the top of the doors. And some screws for the doorcards. I will have a word with Luke first to see what bits I can get new.. If you can let me know what bits you have, and the condition. Thanks.. What a barsteward i hope you are not payin him for destroying your car!!!!! No mate no way hes getting any money out of me.... Chris..
  23. Over the last few months, the car was beginning to look a little tired, so I decided to put her in for a makeover. I was told of a guy who was a bit handy with bodywork. After several long talks I thought yeah he sounds ok. The car was booked in and the new parts ordered. The job was basically to knock out a few dents, remove the rear lights, fit the new rear light panel and paint the hole car. Well this was three months aggo. The work all started well. All the repairs were looking good. But then it all started to go down hill. He had started painting It, but it was looking like he was painting it one panel at a time. I was getting concerned now. Went to have a good look. The paint was looking really rough, but he told me he would sort it. Yeah like f**k The car was getting worse and worse. Well to cut a long story short. Yesterday I went over to get the car back, nowing it would still be in a mess. How right can you be... The car was still striped. Most of the car is painted but not the t-tops or the shuts around the tail gate. The new back panel is fitted but he has'nt cut away the metal where the new lights fit in. The front bumper has been painted without removing the old sticky tape that was holding on the number plate, so now thats silver. Mirrors are still off, spoiler is still off. Just found some of the back trim has been broken and all the fixings for the trims are all over the inside of the car, along with the door cards and all the rubbers. I am so sick, but I now have to get it back togeather. I have decided to try and get the back lights in and wired up so that it is driveable. Then work my way through it. If any one is breaking a Jap 90-92 I may be looking for a few trim and molding bits. Thanks for taking the time to read this. It has made me feel a bit better just getting it down on paper. Now be warned, People aint what they tell you they are... Chris..
  24. I think you should start as you mean to go on.....See you on Sunday? Chris.. :D
  25. So bring her along, it will give my one someone to talk to... ;)
