  1. Sorry Stu no pic's, dont realy like to blow my own trumpet (if only) I'll try and get one over to you so you can put it on for me. I've also started the door builds to hold the 6inch mids, the tweeters are already in the top of the doors and look fine. Burf mate what have I got.. Well it starts with a JVC head unit with two preouts in to Pro-Plus equaliser to split the signal into three. Then Front channel Is Pro-Plus amp with Alpine 6inch component set in the doors. Rear is 6x4 JBL in the factory pods. Base Runs through an Alpine amp with two 10inch Infinity subs mounted in a custom built box (no ports) for a crisper sound (has a snapier base note with less boom!) All power is 4g cable and gold fittings. Also lots of Dynamat. It all sounds a bit of mix match but it is all stuff I have taken out of other cars and had laying around doing nothing. It also gives me more room in the bed room!!!
  2. There are basicaly three types of box for your subs.. 1 sealed, this is as it said sealed 2 ported, this is a sealed box with a tube inserted, venting the air. the tube or port is tuned to the frequency of the sub by sise and length. Larger the sub, larger the length and opening sise of the port. 3 band pass, this is like having two boxies with the sub fixed in between, the side that the sub playes into is usualy ported. 4 not realy a 4 but you can have all sorts of combinations of the three. now we all know all about sub boxies. what do they do? WELL THEY MAKE THE SOUND REAL LOUD!!!! But you need to know what you are doing to get it to sound any thing like right... Did any one have a look at my setup on the front at Brighton? it doesnt take much power to sound sweet!!
  3. Andy I would love to go all the way..I mean become a full member. Please send me the details. The club Idear sounds real good, you could have area meets and all go visit each others meetings. Yeah deal me in!
  4. MJP. Do Stillen, and the type III now comes with CARBON FIBRE inlay in the top portion, you have to sit down for this bit... It costs £475 + vat..
  5. Burf mate, if the sub is bounsing around it needs fixing down. Brown bread will only stop the sound transfering in to the body panels and shaking the car to pieces!!!
  6. Come on boys my brother's out there..
  7. Nice one Brent you hit it in one. Only thing was I had no module at all!! It appears that a rear fog light had been wired to one of the brake lights, so the module had been bypassed. I found a loose wire there, easy fix.. job done!!! I could have been looking all day Nice one. All ready for tomorrow.........And the sun's comming out!! Cool..
  8. Thanks Brent you may just have saved me a couple of hours. All I have to do now is find out where to get one...
