  1. Ive fitted a new power ariel to my Zed, ive put the earth to earth and the live to a permanement live... However i have put the blue (remote) onto the remote connection on my amplifier so when i switch the radio on the amp comes on and the ariel goes up, it works fine as it goes back down when i switch it off... However, speaking to a friend earlier he tells me i should not put my remote to the amp as i could damage something... Is this true?

  5. Will do, what is detonation and how can i cure it? The car still performs well it just has the rattling noise, there is usually a tiny amount of black smoke when i accelerate
  6. My car has a mines ecu and is running about 14psi boost, it has a decat exhaust and two dump valves, When i accelerate up to full boost sometimes there is a rattling noise from the engine... What could this be, is it the turbos? Cheers
  7. I know last weekend there was a r33 skyline and Mazda Rx7 both with V8`s running the time attack at Silverstone, Maybe you could research the Time attack cars entered and contact these guys...just an idea
  8. My UK Z continues to rust at the rear arches, even after having a full respray and numerous repairs including new metal welded in places. One idea i had is to fit a wide arch kit and zenon rear bumper (zcentre) to my Z as to cover the rust up, I know its not the best way to do things but if the rust is only on the outer arch its not particularly important to have it mint (correct???) As it only looks bad do you think i would get away with covering it with a kit, or would the bubbling paint interfere with the fitting of the kit? Cheers guys
  9. I had my car resprayed last year and was very happy with the job, however six months later rust started to come through so i took it back and they fixed it for me, however another six months later the rust bubbles are coming back... Is the only way to permantly fix it to have new metal welded in? If so, how much should i be paying to have this done? cheers guys
  10. Looked very nice , wheels were smart too Not seen it about Stoke on Trent before...

  14. If i remove the cat on my 1992 UK TT Z and put two sport backboxes on will it reduce the life of the turbos?
  15. Now i am no expert but, My Z is no track car and dosnt get thrashed regularly, however, i do tend to have little outbursts in my car where i will drive it hard maybe for about 5 or 10 minutes at the most. So my question is, (specific to the way i drive my car) drilled and grooved discs have a smaller surface area for the pad and so brakeing distances are increased (with cold discs)...? Therefore, i would be better of with solid discs as they wont have time to get hot enough for me to need the benefits of drilled/grooved discs, correct?
  16. Where is the best place to get a complete new set of discs and pads for my 1993 UK TT? I would like some slotted/drilled ones but dont want to spend loads of money on them, would settle for stock ones though if needs be, where do you guys recommend quality products for a good price? cheers, Dan
  17. I have had my guage installed now for about 8 months and its caused no problems at all, however just recently it seems to take a lot longer for it to register a temperature... It used to start moving at the exact point the standard one started to move, and they would both rise to normal operating temperature at the same time, now the aftermarket one seems to be behind the standard one... What could be causing this? Cheers guys
  18. Everytime my Zed hits a speed hump there is a knock that comes from the front of the car, sometimes its from the nearside and sometimes the offside, sometimes it clunks from both sides, Its been doing it for a while now and hasnt seemed to get any worse but want to fix it anyway, also when the car is up in the air there seems to be no play in any of the steering or suspension parts... What do you suggest it could be, i thought maybe the drop links? cheers guys
  19. Does anybody know anything about these? My Z has led back lights and are very sensitive and sometimes some of the lights will fail, I feel a voltage stabiliser may rectify the problem... However i dont know how to wire them up...?
  20. i stand corrected, i am sure it was bimmerfest.com i read it was an M62 engine, or maybe it was only the block thats the same

  23. The new M3 has the old e39 M5 engine which was 400bhp and 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, Bmw have tuned the engine now to get an extra 20 odd bhp and put it in the lighter car. Personally i wouldnt run with one, but then again im only running 15psi. My 96 e39 540 is never far behind the Z...
  24. email me, dannyjhunter@hotmail.com cheers
