  1. Proper proffesional stuff, very nice. About time a wrap was done on this comp.
  2. Funny you mention the plate as I've retained my UK plates on my skyline out here in Canada. Most North americans have never seen a bright yellow plate, It actually draws as much attention the car!!!
  3. happy belated Bday, I'll be 30 in Jan so not far behind, just hanging onto the 20's but not for long lol. Andy
  4. Happy birthday :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:
  5. This is one Z I am looking forward to seeing! Hope its all working out ok. Andy
  6. I'm not sure if i've been informed correctly but dont you have to supply several examples of that model for crash testing??? I would love a 99 Z, maybe one day.
  7. Vacation and travel is always high on my adgenda! I've kind of neglected the Z for 2 years now being out of the country so much. The Z will have its turn soon!! You can always pick up all your tunning goodies whilst out in the states, save yourself a fortune.
  8. thats one big fooker!! The average grizzly bear can run as fast as a race horse so I wouldnt like to come up against one!! The father in law was chased by one in the Rocky mountains on his motor bike, he only just got away!!
  9. Difficult choice with newer cars at the moment, I cant really say that any of the newer generation GT/sports cars interest me that much. If your going to spend a further 10k how about a Skyline R33 GTR Vspec. Awsome car in my opinion, although some may beg to differ. Andy
  10. how about a retro look. Beige with a vinal roof :slap:
  11. If Rooney cant control his temper he should have done a propper job and given Ronaldo and sledge hammer. Rooney looks like he could pack a heavy punch. Ronaldo needed to be knocked out IMO. I'm starting to sound like a hooligan :x: :x: :x:
  12. Now there's an engine spec  Car doesnt look too bad either, I'm not a huge fan of big rear spoilers but if your going to go track days, with the correct adjustment(if its adjustable) it could keep that back end firmly planted. Just out of curiosity how much did it cost ya fella?? Andy
  13. When I first bought the car it was going to be the first thing to change. It immediatly became apparent that most found it quite amusing though. Especially for cars behind as its hard to see the top three didgits when up close. I've seen many of people laughing in my rear view mirror The car is now well know as the POO machine, although soon to be exported to me in Canada it will be getting a private plate. you can have whatever plate you want out here for $100 as long as knowone else has it, even regular plates dont indicate the age of the vehicle. Andy
  14. My dad often takes mine for a drive down to Cornwall on the weekends when I'm out the country, possibly him??
  15. As your friend may know the material is critical. There are so many grades available thus the potential for many opperating conditions. Performance piston specialists invest huge amounts of cash into research and development to attain to the correct blend of alloys, not commonly shared with joe pubic. They are finely tuned to the correct specification to withstand extream turbo temeratures and high wear. Also, a bar of forged alloy wont posses the stuctual properties of individual forged pistons. I Wont go into detail but metal is formed by many different grains, their direction and composition determine the strength. Individual forgings will be much stronger than a bar of forged alloy cut up to make all six pistons. If he's unsure about the spec you could end up with a big molten lump of poo in your engine, which isnt nice!! As far as machining them, no problem if they do stuff for the aviation industry. I had the capability to make my own but chose to go for decent aftermarket ones, not worth the risk IMHO. Just some wise words from a research and development engineer ;) Andy
  16. The octain units in Canada are mesured in AKI (Anti Knock Index) Where as in the UK the units of octain are measured in RON (Research Octain Number) Basically a 91 AKI octain here in Canada is the equivilent of 97 RON in the UK. Just to confuse you the US use MON (motor octain Number) and also PON I spoke a the development engineer at Shell just to clarify a few things, I was a bit concerned bringing my Z over to Canada and which fuel to use. Although the numbers seem lower the fuel is actuall refined to a higher standard out here, and the highest option of 94 AKI is equivelent to 100 RON Not sure why they dont all just use the same system!!! Also the RON system was developed back in the second word war when fighter planes were suffering with detonation and basically crashing. They needed to regulate and control the fuel so engines could perform and be reliable. The method of testing is still the same and by modern standards very cude with low tolerances, which is why the Yanks use the MON/PON system tested on modern engines and using up to date technology. The AKI is a further extension with very tight tolerances between grades. Andy
  17. I passed a silver Z in st Meryn on Sunday about mid day, TT LWB with BBS rims. An exchange of waves was given. Anyone on here?
  18. It does seem that loads of other forums have a 'say hello' section. Good idea as far as i'm concerned. Only benificial if people reply though. When I introduced myself on the Skyline forum I didn't have one reply. Misserable fekkers!!
  19. Took some more pictures while back in the UK last week. One of favourite spots at Constentine Bay in Cornwall.
  20. I'm down at Harlyn Bay tonight staying at a friends caravan if anyone is in the area?? Back to Plymouth in early afternoon though
  21. The car started missing a couple days ago, no power on boost and very irratic idle. I suspected the PTU and following a diagnostic my thoughts where confirmed. I relocated the PTU after it started playing up last year and its been fine till now. The connectors seemed to be breaking down and by wiggling them the idle issue seemed to be cured. I replaced all the female pins in the connector and success, but not for long. The car is now iddling poor and still occasionaly hesitating when cold or hot, still a code 21. The last time the PTU failed the car would only run when cold. Are these new symptoms typical of PTU break down?? If so, i'll order a series 2 PTU from the Z centre.
  22. Sadly looks like i'm going to have to give this one a miss :( . I now have some familly commitments. Hope you all have a good one.
  23. That looks very sweet sir. Certainly complements the body kit.
  24. All this talk off country lanes is getting me excitted! I'm back in the uk next week and I will be driving the Z as much as possible. The roads out here in Canada are great but I do miss them Britsh country lanes!!
