  1. Nice one Si. I doubt I will be able to buy it here so lets get some scans up!!
  2. If you feel like a bit of a drive, pop up here fot a few beers :duffer: Be good to see some pics from the meet. Andy
  3. Very nice. I've had a couple landies before, a series 3 and a V8 Hybrid. Absolutly loved them. Looking for another at the moment similar to what you have bought!! I'm all up for the Bio diesel thing and want one as a daily driver. Will be well suited to our snowy winter! Just curios how the diesels are to drive, are they as noisey and as slow as I'm expecting? These were my two
  4. Thanks for the remarks. No problems with speeding but the highways are littered with state troopers in their interceptors with bull bars on the front  Speed limits in Canada vary but 70 MPH is normal. Usually cruised at 85MPH I was pulled once by a cop but more curiosity being RHD and euro plates. Most North Americans have never left the contenent so have never seen RHD or funny reflective number plates before. Gets tons of attention!! No real limit as to how long I can drive on Euro plates, I just have temp insurance which require a certificate in the front window. Its a bit more expensive than regular insurance but I've had them on my BMW for 6 months now. Means I cant get caught by speed cameras as they only record the VIN on the car :hyper: Mind you I quite like the local plates so will do it eventually. It is weird having the car here how after hardley using it for two years. Feels like Ive gone back in time a bit. There was so much more I wanted to do the car, I may get round to it now, cheep parts at last!!
  5. CONT... Those yanks love there flags. This town must have had one on every lamp post. The Final stretch with small movie up through the very strait and flat praries. Perfect for a top speet run lol... Mind you i'm only doing 80 here.
  6. I moved to Canada from the UK two years ago now but I’ve only just got round to shipping the Z over. I had the car shipped to Halifax on the East coast of Canada, about 3300Km from my new home in Winnipeg. The car has always been maintained to the highest standard and it’s never let me down yet so I wasn’t too concerned about reliability. I organized a few spares just incase with a decent tool selection. My journey basically started in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The route I decided to take wasn’t the shortest but probably the best roads and scenery. I followed the Trans Canada highway through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Into Quebec past Quebec City and Montreal. On through Ontario, with a stop in the Capital Ottawa. We then headed to the border and crossed into the USA taking us through Michigan along the edge of Lake Superior passing into Minnesota before the final leg backup to Manitoba in Canada. I’ll have to give a massive credit to the 300zx, I still can’t believe after a 15 hour stretch I didn’t have the slightest sign of any aches. I’ve taken the Z on some long drives through Europe but nothing like this. My friend who shared the driving was amazed at the comfort and power, basically chewing up any form of muscle car that even tried to take us on. Averaged about 24MPG at 80MPH although the speed limits in Michigen are lower I managed a tank of fuel at 30.4 MPG averaging about 60MPH. First time I've ever seen that from my Z!! The Journey wasn’t without glitches though. When we hit Ottawa it was pouring down with high humidity at 30 degrees. The car started bogging down and came to a stop in a petrol station. First time it’s ever broken down in the 8 years I’ve had it!! A quick diagnosis through up a code 12. I gave the Plug on the MAF good clean and a re-seal and she ran like new again for the rest of the journey. I also managed to blow out a front tyre in a small town called North bay. Luckily we just caught a tyre shop before closing and they had one 18” second hand tyre left. I don’t normally buy part worns but had no choice and it got us home safely. A few pics from the trip Sunset at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. Very Close to where Swiss air flight 111 Crashed killing all in 98 Thundering on into New brunswick. Brand new Highway all the way with great scenery A familier sight and stopping point. More V power. Nice at 49p a litre. Dropped to 39p a litre in the USA On into Quebec, more kick ass roads. More V power in north bay. Seconds before I hit a very large random rock while turning blowing out an almost new Eagle F1. Sunset making our way to the USA border. Shortly after pulled by a state trooper wonder where the hell my number plates were from
  7. Hello there mate. I'm out on the other side of the pond aswell. Used to live in England and the club is full of a great bunch of blokes! I'll be driving through the states at the end of the month when I pick my Z up from Halifax. I'll be passing through Detroit to N Dakota. A bit far you to go but I'm hoping to meet with a local club there en-route
  8. I used to find the Z very difficult to control a drift, mind you a harder suspension set up my have made life easier. I find the Z takes corners very well when driven normally though. Different story with my M5. so much control when you get sliding, not that I exercise drifting too often, just a bit of fun once in a while.
  9. I would certainly take it to Brussels then store it for the two years. When your in japan buy a 99 spec, then import it back to the UK when your done and make a profit.
  10. Well spotted, Indeed she is being shipped with WWL. I've imported a few cars to Canada with them now. They kind of have the monopolly though being the only RO-RO company to ship from Sou - Halifax. You right about domestic Z's. Most are 2 seater NA's with the odd TT about.
  11. My mate dropped her at the docks today. The ship leaves tomorrow for a 7 day passage to Halifax, Canada. Looking like she needs a bit of TLC, I havent even seen the car in almost a year, been stored in my dads garage with the occasion weekend run. Apparently she is driving very well and just completed full service/inspection. I'll be picking the the car up in Halifax at the end of may after a trip back to the UK, then taking the 4000km drive across Canada and the USA. Cant wait TBH. I have a load of spares organised now and I'm hoping to meet up with some Z clubs in Canada and the US on the way through so I'll get plenty of pics. When I get her to my new home in Winnipeg I can finish off the mods I've put on a back burner for the last few years. Z at the docks today, almost 8 years since she last came through Southampton docks when I originally imported her
  12. Very nice transplant, bet it sounds awsome!! Quite a considerable weight saving aswell, interesting to see how it perfroms. Extreamly fast I expect.
  13. I miss roundabouts!!! Since living in Canada its all intersections and traffic light. Load of crap really!! People I speak to out here who have been to Europe complain about how difficult it is to drive in back home and how difficult roundabouts are. In my opinion north americans cant drive Period. 90% of them cant even drive a manual.
  14. Got to love the E34!! I've had my M5 for 6 months now and love it! Considering it's getting on a bit if still feels and drives like new. I prefer the looks of my Z but much preffer driving the M5. For a big car it really shifts, 340bhp from a throttle-body strait six sounds awsome. I am looking forward to driving the Z agiain in the summer with the targas off though!! As for repair, best car I've ever worked on. So much thought went into servicing/repairing these cars. I replaced the heater matrix the other day in 2 hours, no fuss or bother. Also uprated the headgasket, another easy job.
  15. The NSX is probably the most exclusive although BMW build quality is second to none. I have a BMW M5 now and have to say I love it!! I still preffer the Z on a sunny day but for every day driving the M wins hands down. Those 850's are dam thirsty though!!
  16. Too bad the trafficstars had to go but the idea of a super deep dish sounds better. I personally like the later two options. Looking forward to seeing the end result!! Andy
  17. All is going good thanks, Z values are still pretty high out here but dont think I'll sell it for a while. Deffo not an all year round car though. Winters are pretty cold with lots of snow, need AWD for winter fun!! Really looking forward to this trip, I've hardly driven the Z in the last two years!! Be good way to get re-aquainted!!
  18. lol, lucky petrol is only 35p a litre out here. Some of the driving will be done in the states where its even cheaper. I think the hotels and nights out will cost more!!
  19. I moved out to Canada last year and finally I’ll be shipping the Z over this May. The ship lands in Halifax, a massive 3750Km from my home in Winnipeg. I put the Skyline on a train to get it across but I really want to do the drive in the Z. Some of the most scenic roads out there, I’ll be sharing the driving with a friend and hoping to cover the distance in 3-4 days. Reliability has never been a problem with my Z in the 8 years I’ve owned it, so I’m hoping for a trouble free run. Mechanically the car is excellent, I’ve put a huge amount into keeping this Z running like new. I’m a little concerned about electrical gremlins but I’ll be carrying a spare PTU, MAF & CAS just incase. I just wondered if there are any other common failures you guys can think of so I can organise some spares. Andy
  20. First time I've been on since last week, cheers guys. Sad to leave the 20's behind but so much to forward to!!! Andy
  21. Are there any pics posted somewhere of which cars in the calendar this year? Andy
  22. It's been ages since I last posted but merry xmas to you all. Still loving life in Canada but the Z is sadly still in the UK. I've only used it a few times in the last year on trips back to England. I plan on shipping it out in the spring. I've got myself an M5 out here and absolutly love it! Dare I say better than the Z? I think it is, although you cant beat the Z on a sunny day with the targas off, I miss the old girl. Andy
  23. I remember seeing the Vulcans atthe airshows as a kid. Most noisey plane I've ever heard!!
  24. Just been looking through my art pad and getting rid of a few drawings. This is one I did of a version R last year. Ebay Andy
  25. I took this photo at Niagra falls two years ago.
