propshaft vibration
From my experience whenever I've droped the prop and marked it up, it always goes back and alignment is spot on. You can check that by clocking it in. I do this by mounting a dial indicator clock to the bottom of the car and place the indicator of the clock on a smooth part of the shaft(one end at a time) Expect runout to be no worse than 0.001". If its worse then loosen the bolts but not all the way and knock the shaft with a hide hammer in the direction it needs to go. Once running true then torque the bolts up. If you cant get the run out that good then remove the shaft and relocate it in a different fase and repeat the process. Bit of an ass but just trial and error i'm affraid. Andy

propshaft vibration
Seems to have the symptoms of a centre prop bearing on its way out. Why it would be causing probs now could be a number of reasons. Possibly the bearing was wearing anyway and disturbing it can accelerate the problem. Maybe the assembly was dropped or just not re-fitted properly? First thing to do is get it back up on a ramp and check everything is fitted correctly and is tight. You can tell if the centre prop bearing has gone buy the fact it will be sagging in its housing and the rubber surrounding's will be worn. Get a pinch bar in on the shaft and see if you can move it about. A good bearing will move but expect lots from a shot bearing. When a prop bearing is on the way out the vibrations will usually fade out about 60+ mph. If the vibration continues to worsen i'd be looking at shaft alighnment or gearbox. Has the car had the centre prop bearing replaced yet? chances are if not it will need doing. Hope that helps Andy :)

bushes
The kit that your looking at does contain all you need for the diff and rear subframe however if you want to do all the rear bushings you will need to buy the rear control arm and axel bushes aswell. They do sell a master set which I bought which also contains some of the front bushing although again I had to buy many of the others separately. Argument to say if it aint broke dont fix it, but as I wanted to do the lot it made sense to do all of them whilst the car was in pieces. Andy

bushes
I have replaced all the bushings on my car and the rear subframe is the most time consuming i'm affraid. I bought a set from courtesy but that doesn't include everything you need. It took me nearly 2 days to drop the rear sub frame and replace the parts. Take along time as there is so much you need to remove. Definitly best to use a 2 poster for this job. If you dont have a decent press tool the old subframe bushes are a tw*t to get out but not imposible. Just use a drill and core dril all the way round finally cutting out the sleave with a hack saw. New ones will slide in easy. Defintily a good mod as they stiffen up the back end and will eliminate any wheel tramp with big power. Only downside is that transmision/diff noise will be present in the car due to the solid bushes. Not loud but noticable. Andy

Whats your Favourite stretch of road?
Cornwall is full of great roads. I miss going down to Haylin bay every weekend to the Caravan. Cornwall is not over crowded like most places in the UK, unless its bank holiday and then its total gridlock and full of northern Monkeys :D

What is the world coming to
think your self lucky in England. My cousin lives in Johanasburg South Africa. When ever he takes the kids to school he has an armed escort follow in the car behind. Crazy sh1t. Their house has a 5m electric security wall and two armed responce cars contantly driving around their estate. Car jackings arnt as common as they used to be but they still go on. Some people have flame throwers mounted on their sills to scortch the ankles of any potential thieving scum. :D

Whats your Favourite stretch of road?
Everyone must have a favourite stretch of road they love to have a blast on. Mine has always been the on the A38 between Plymouth and Trerulefoot in Cornwall for those of you who know it. Think I've found a new favourite now though. Just spent the last week driving round the Rocky mountains and the Icefield parkway is just breathtaking! 400km of amazing roads! Pictures speak for themselves! Andy

Whats going to win? you vote
I've done something similar to this in my mates R33 GTR skyline. The car was 600bhp with a sequensial strait cut 6 speed box and heavily lightened as it was a track car. The car was a fast as the bike even on pull away and started to distance itself infront of the bike at about 100mph. The car carried on to 200mph although some of the paint had been torn from the front bumper at this stage!! never expected that! The bike was a blade. Good luck

lowering petrol prices
Another problem with the UK is that petrolium is not produced "in house" so it all has to be shipped from other sources inflating the cost with shipping expences etc. The prices have risen equally as much out here in Canada and there is uproar at the moment as most of the oil for Canada is produced in house. Its now at an all time high of 0.39p a litre. I dont know their all complaining about. Should get them to take their gas guzzelers to UK, they wouldn't complain then! Andy

Big Rant - Immigrants
I'm pretty sure the allowance for a family vehicle is about 6 grand! One of my mates had an MPV for sale, when he found out it was assilum seekers who was buying it he cancled the sale and told them to f**k off! Sick thing is they can sell that car the next day and buy another car for 100 quid and pocket the change! It's sad to say that the English immigration system is a joke.

owners who arent on the forum
I know a guy who probably has one of the nicest Z'd about but has never used the Forum or been to any shows. I should try and some pics next time I'm back in the UK if he doesn't mind. He's had it since new and spent about a further 50k on it. Its been a wide body pretty much since new and had various colour changes over the years and re-trims. Massive engine spec etc. He has a new ferrari now so never really uses it. I've asked him several times if he will sell it but dont think he's interested. I want that car.

300zx..rarer than i thought.
Interesting choise for a holiday??? most people try to escape  Definitly a rare breed. I can only account for another four in Plymouth. Very rarley see them though. I've only seen a couple in Canada. I guess the only time you would have seen them on a regular basis was in Japan 12 or so years ago. Now their dissipated all over the globe. long live the Z  . 12 hours of strait road.
I'm driving up to the Rocky mountains tomorrow and its going to be a dam boring drive. pretty much strait and flat all the way. 1300k/m of pararies. Not much to see but the odd water tower and combines. Great for testing top speed though :p Different story once your in the mountains. Some of the best roads in the world with probably the best views aswell. Sadly not in the Z. Not seen my car for two months now   Going to ship her out soon though, give all these over weight muscle cars out here a pasting

noob question
Early MR2 Turbos were 220BHP and later models about 240. I found they are easy to launch because of the light weight and also the fact that the weight of the mid mounted engine is pushing the rear wheels down on the ground. If you drop the clutch in the same manor in a Z you will just light the wheels. If you have mastered the the launch in a Z then it will just have the edge.(doesnt apply to those with granny boxes:x:) ) Z's definitly got more mid range and no competition at the high end. MR2 are great fun but dont forget your scissors

Whats wrong with me?
I had one before my Z. Great car but not exactly refined. Very noisey 4 pot humming in your ears all the time.(you would miss that V6 grumble) Very twitchy, hard ride etc. Depends what you want really? I saw moving onto a Z was a huge step up into the big boys league. I would'nt go back. Only my opinion though. Each to their own. :) Andy

It is now OFFICIAL!
Think you have to going super fast to make a difference. Set your top speed goals really high! :D

Duke's of Hazard
Dont think so. Only time I've ever seen one is on Happy Days  . When my missus suggested it I thought she was having a laugh. I didn't even know they existed anywhere nowadays. Good value though. Got to see two movies for the price of one.
