robtor, with all due respect ive been about long enough to know if some ones "playing", and by the driving manner and the noises he wasnt, so thanks for the thoughts, but could anyone a bit more knowledgable shed any light on it???

Where can i find the difference in weights between all the zeds, eg na, tt manual, tt auto, and weights difference eg auto swb na. man swb na. ttswb man/ ttlwbman /auto etc you get the jist, its just that i went off the mark with a black lwb tt today it sounded like an auto, but it never really got away that well, we went up to a hundred or so then hit traffic, i cant explain it?? i was expecting him to vanish ?? maybe he had a prob/was old/handbrake on/or was it anyone on here perhaps??? im dissilusioned if thats how they go as i fancied getting a tt, but see no point, any ideas or links to that data would help, cheers gavo

Hi smw, 42 quid inc vat, dead easy to fit, i leant a multi meter, i cant tell u the dif its made, it must have been worse than i thought, well worth it m8

TPS = throttle position switch, my car was suffering a huge hesitation problem which nissan couldnt pinpoint, but advice off the chaps on here prompted me too buy one and its done the trick in a big way

Fitted and set new tps today and what a difference, she drives so smoooth now its unreal, seems quicker too, or am i just imagining it, any way thanks for all advice guys, im glad i spent the fourty quid its transformed it.

i work in a garage and i have never yet heard a bmw start up and not make a slight noise from the top end even low milers, they all do it its just the oil pressure building and the top end filling with oil, i assume the car was cold for it to do this, if he has let you start it cold and let you hear the noise it made thats probably an honest car your viewing

graphite grey, ttops, electric leather, 2 seater, s,s zorst, standard and very clean/loved its a manual approx 70miles, but its in ks so its reading 110 still got titanium key toad remote locking the cars gorgeous and is running mint (at the mo) lol

Gonna try cleaning the contacts on ecu ts tommorow, as suggested to stop my hesitation problem and adjust/test my tps, if this doesnt cure it im gonna replace them, should i go to main dealers for thes parts or is there a cheaper route, i dont want 2nd hand ones but hate the thought of being stiffed unneccaserilly by the dealer, will i need a part code also??

Just been reading about some ones tps and cable adjustment was mentioned on both?throttle cables, prob is i can only see one on mine????, although mine is an na should i have 2, and what is the 2nd ones function, i have a hesitation prob that i havent solved yet could this be related, any help appreciated

Had similar prob, jack car up and rotate wheels, check to see that there are no blebs/lumps on inside or outside of tyre, if you take it too get wheel balance checked this should be noticed by fitter any way, mine had a big bleb on tyre bought new tyre and made a world of difference

no offence taken mate but untill he pulls the motor too bits its all speculation anyway, and although i conceed that whatever has happenned is better to have happenned at tickover thats still 1000 rpm and not good, and i really dont feel that it was avoidable, poor unlucky sod is what comes too fore front of my mind !!

i reckon your bottom end has water in the oil which has siezed the bottom end as soon as u started it up, the water would have contaminated the bearings causing extreme heat v v quickly plus a serious lack of lube due to any water prescence and your main or big ends would have nipped up, then when you turned it with spanner in op direction this quarter turn is all you can do untill it nips the other way, sounds to me as though it was inevitable no matter wot u did, try not too beat yourself up about it , i would definately look into ins paying for it, trade policy or not, as gonna be well costly otherwise, hows it going so far anyway where u up too???
