  1. Have you solved the problem mate, might be able to help?
  2. Thanks Darrell, thats a start, just hope my mechanic can make head and tail of it. Thanks again mate.
  3. Hi all, Could someone please point me in the right direction for timing the engine on a TT. Replacement engine now fitted, mechanic now needs info on timing, any links appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Hi Bigman. I have this system on my car, nice engine note but not the quietest system ever made. Good value for money though and looks nice. Only thing that I think lets it down is that the tail pipes are not rolled at the ends if you know what I mean. Very good service from the company and speedy delivery. Tony.
  5. Hi mate, I have had both my tubs recon'd by Graham Page at universal turbos, fording bridge, Bournemouth. Very quick turn around (1 Day) and as far as I can tell, bloody good job. Now for the price; £275 for one and £425 for the other was what I paid, but they are like new and totally balanced on the spindle. Contact No 01425 471421 they will arrange collection and delivery.
  6. I have to agree with Craig Daaaaavid. Personal opinion; show car with body kit and bling, gun grey for restored orignal looking Zed. Honestly though, it will look cool what ever you decide, good luck, let us know the outcome.
  7. Mate, thats the kind of idea that I wish Nissan had thought of when designing these over compicated cars. I'm an aircraft technician in the Airforce and all the wiring on the Jets have the same kind of system as what you are talking about........bloody brilliant, easy maintenance.
  8. Thanks all. Alan, I've taken your number mate and really appreciate the help. All hoses are now on and i'm waiting for the engine and box to be fitted this weekend. After the weekend I will be ready to press the go button and touch wood.........she'll start. We will have to arrange a meet up when I get the car home, I live in Barnham on the A134 toward Thetford. Thanks again. Tony.
  9. Is there a fellow Zed owner in the Marham, Swaffam area who's car I could possibly take a look at? Problem finding the location of all the vacuum lines post engine fit on tt. ta
  10. I'll post a new thread now mate and try to direct some Norfolk attention my way. Thanks again mate.
  11. Thanks Andy, bad news for me then.............shi................te.
  12. Andy that would be brilliant mate. I will take any help I can get. Thanks. tony.osterberg@hotmail.co.uk Thanks again :hyper:
  13. Engine was taken out 3 weeks ago by a very good mechanic but sadly he has had to leave the refit for three weeks and is now finding it a nightmare sorting all the vacuum and sensor rubber lines. I've looked at the manual but the pictures are rubbish. Anyone Know where else to look? TT. If there is a Zed in the Norfolk(Swaffam,Downham market area) that we could possibly have a look at could you let me know, I will reward. Many thanks :smash:
  14. Show us all a picture of them mate, might be able to help.
  15. Thanks to all, my ones are now in transit to be recon'd. cheers
  16. Cool. found a place, Graham page Turbos. I'm just so glad that everything is so cheap on these motors..................yeah right! Thanks all.
  17. You must be a Kings veteran then. Good old Canvey, I miss the traffic. lol
  18. Hi mate, do you know anywhere I can get a pair of standard turbo's. Also that looks like the seafront area of Canvey where your cars pictured, no i'm not a stalker, lived on the island for 20 years.
  19. I'm looking to either buy a new turbo to replace my fooooked one or send both away for refurb. Can somebody advise where I could buy one already refurbished or new, and where is the best place to have my two serviced if I choose this option. Last but not least, what is the name/code for the standard turbo's (automatic)? Ta. :smash:
  20. Just to back up what the others are saying, you can get a petroleum resistant mastic that is mainly used in the aircraft industry for internal fuel tanks. Problem you will have is that for any mastic/putty filler to last any length of time, it will have to be applied to the inside of the tank so that the pressure dont blow it out. As the others have said, far easier to replace.
  21. All brand new systems/rear boxes are gonna set you back a fair old wedge. The box you have shown hasn't the pipes fitted, problem you will have is removing your old pipes of your current silencers and welding them to the new ones. If your old system is steel and not stainless the joints may become weak after time. If your budget is tight and the old silencers are serviceable, a cheeper opton would be to remove the exit pipes and have larger ones welded to your standard box, especially if its just a cosmetic option and not a performance upgrade. Check out the Z-center for prices of new system. Good luck
  22. Apart from Nissans own service repiar manual, one has never been commisioned by any other 'D.I.Y' sponsor, however, with forums like this one you're never that far from a helping hand. Also sites like 300zx.org.uk have some handy D.I.Y tips and procedures. Welcome to the club.
  23. If you look for the on-line manual, there is a section on the timing belt set up showing all the markings on the pulleys, auto-tentioner and the adjustments, positions and clearences needed prior to instalation, also on the 300zx.org web site there are some handy tips on replacing your belt and the set up required, this will be very handy for your mechanic as there can be slight variations and tolerences allowed on the pulleys. If the belt has broke under load then your mechanic will have to carry out a thorough inspection. Hope this helps mate.
  24. Sharky. I saw your motor at Santa pod, infact I took some photo's of it,love the doors. Should be a cool runner once you have sorted the motor. Good luck
  25. Hi all, can anyone tell me where to purchase two turbo's that will bolt straight on to a standard engine. Are there any better alternatives than the td25's? Thanks.
