  1. My Wife and I went Private (Portlands Hospital) so we are not part of the stat's either ;)
  2. I've got a sore knee :slap:
  3. It's been a bad day today. I ended up in a cast. The wife had to walk to the doctors carrying Isabella to take her for her injections because I had the pram in the boot of the car which I used to get to the hospital. Wife then had to get a taxi to the hospital with our daughter to drive the BMW home that I used to get there (using L plates as she hasn't passed her test yet, plus she's never driven the Beema either). Daughter didn't stop crying for 3 hours after the injections so Wife had to take her back to the doctors as she also had a red patch on her leg. I decided to wash the front door mat, but didn't tell my wife I put it in the washing machine, so she loaded some other stuff in there. Once the cycle kicked in it melted the back of the mat off which then cooled during rising mode and wedged itself between the rubber and the glass seal, causing the washing machine to drain it's load off over the kitchen floor. Wife had to clean up all the water and then try and hover up all the now brittle bits of rubber from the back of the mat. Hopefully tomorrow will be more relaxing :).
  4. Q4T (quoted for the truth)
  5. lol I'm only 33, been playing envery week for 5 years now. I guess I should retire soon.
  6. yeah, that's the only room we haven't decorated yet :)
  7. yup, All these parts were bought for the A 3 years ago when the turbo blew, it's been that long since I've had any progress on it.
  8. I've bought two cars from E-bay and sold two cars on ebay. Don't leave a desposit just tell them you will come round and pick it up within two days of winning. Check the car over if it's got more problems that described or doesn;t meet the description you can walk away.
  9. Yep he's still doing it. He rebuilt the heads, ported and polished them, built the block up with new weisco pistons, balanced crank etc. Now he's fitted the manifolds and turbo's after a bit of modifiing. I've attached a few pics to show the clearance needed. Difference between stock and HKS actuators Modification to block needed as turbo doesn't fit Tubo's fitted after block modified.
  10. Wife forced me to go to the hospital this morning as I sustained a knee injury while playing football last night. Turns out I dislocated my knee but it poped back in trapping a tendon between the femar and the knee cap. So they had to dislocate the knee cap again to get the tendon out then put my whole leg in plaster. So I'm off work for a while and feel totally useless as I can't put any weight on it. Attached a picture for you to have a giggle at.
  11. If the PTU connnector is not connected fully you will usually loose 1 or 2 cylinders. As Stu says above disconnect and give the terminals a good scrub. Another common problem with the PTU (series 1 only) is that as it gets hot the connnectors inside lift off causing the engine to loose a cylinder. If this happens it's either time to swap it, get it repaired or the most common option is to upgrade to a series 2 which doesn't have this problem.
  12. If it's something that's getting progressively worst then my money would be on low compression either caused by sticking valves or broken landers. Did it run lumpy until warm when you eventually got it started ?. But first things first. Check all the spark plugs are firing: take a coil pack off, undo the plug, put a spare in it's place, now connect the plug you removed from the engine to the coil pack, earth the bottom of the plug on the plenum and crank the engine. any spark ? Try this with each of the plugs (using the plugs own coil pack). No spark on one or more, then change the plug and try again, still no spark, stat checking the PTU. Now check the fuel and the injectors. With the ignition on but engine not started, turn the Crank angle sensor by hand and listen to make sure each of the injectors clicks. No click ?. Start checking the CAS for wiring problems or replace the cas with a borrowed working one. All these ok ?. You now need to check compression, have yourself a compression test done. Let us know how you get on. Where in London are you ?. I may be able to help you out if you are not too far.
  13. He has already got them apparently and they were only £12. Don't worry though I'll be asking to see all the reciepts for anything that he has said he needed to buy. ;)
  14. Does anyone on here have the GD manifolds with JWT530bb combination ?
  15. Ok I serached a few other forums to confirm. Apparently with the JWT530bb's the nearside turbo is a problem, the engine mount needs to be modified slightly to get these to sit right with a sufficient amount of air room around the turbo. The block also needs to be modified a little to also allow for the heat shields to have enough room. You can squeeze it in without modifiing the block but this will stress the turbo as the heat casing will be resting on the block itself. The HKS Actuators need to be modified also very slightly as the stem is slightly too long. The GD Manifolds have a built in grove to allow the bolt to pass up alongside. However 2 of these bolts are a little too long and either the bolts need to be cut down very slightly or the manifold needs the resess enlarges for the bolt to pass. Cutting down the bolt seems the best option. Checked with the company that supplied the Nismo 555's and as these are intended to be a straight swap they do not supply the seals for them. Each injector requires 3 separate seals. However a complete set of new seals for all the 370cc and 555cc (use the same seals) can be bought from nissan main dealer for as little as £12. This pretty much tallys up with what I have been told. I'm hoping to get some pictures sent to me today so I will post them up to show what has been done to get it all fitted correctly.
  16. Are you looking at speed, handling or drivability. I've had both SWB NA and LWB TT. The SWB held the road better than the TT but was also excellent for drifting. A stock TT with standard boost will always be faster than an NA unless you spend a fair bit of money on the NA. Things like induction, exhaust, Headers and intenal engine work will give you more power along with lightweight engine components. But then you have to ask yourself what do you want in a 300zx, once you tell us that we can reccomend TT or NA.
  17. There's a lot of it going round mate. I hope you feel better soon.
  18. I have these but made by SPL parts. Not had a chance to drive the car yet so can't tell you what they are like.

What area of essex are you in mate I'll keep my eyes open.
  20. I just can't wait to get behind the wheel of mine again. Been 3 years since I drove her last.
  21. Actually not close at all, missing a spoke and have a grove through each of them. lol
  22. For a minute there I thought they were the wheels that were stolen from Mark while he was in Iraq. Close...
  23. Ok I'm being fed a complete load of *****x again them. Been told the manifold bolts have to be cut down. And the block has to be modified for the turbo's to fit. Also told that the injectors don't have any seals with them.
