Just out of interest, is there anywhere you use as standard for prices of panels, doors etc ?.

I want to do it once and I want to do it right
Really ?. I thought Falkens were supposed to be one of the top tyres. They were recoomended to me by a senior member of this forum. So If I had Goodyear F1's on the back, you think this would be much better grip ?.

'Not actually that fast'
If you are used to driving your car, then are probably used to it and can;t tell if its quick or not. Here's a little test. If you think your car is not that quick. Jump in the passenger side and let your best mate open it up on the road for you. Then come back and tell me it's not fast once you changed your pants. :D

I want to do it once and I want to do it right
On the rear I have Falken 245/45/ ZR16 (2 months old). I think the main thing I am worried about is wheel spins in 1st, 2nd & 3rd when I'm giving it some large, but this is in a straight line  . Would my Stage 2 Stillen clutch have a part to play in it, or would it be the fact that my gear changes are too dammm quick for the 300zx LOL (Doubt that very much). I have decided to get the switchable traction control i.e. off, wet, dry, 10%, 20% & 30% slip and launch from racelogic. Which comes in at £725. Can someone explain to me how launch works as I read the info on Racelogic , but friends are telling me differently. Stuart

High Tick over
Does it make a difference if the car is cold or worm, still random after a bit of a run ?.

Rubber Strips...
Got the same problems on my silver Z TT. But oly on the drivers side for some reason. The black paint has come away leaving a black bit in the middle and crome looking colour around the edges. Thinking of spraying this up myself.

I want to do it once and I want to do it right
I see your point Rik and agree that it insn't safe, but what is ?. I would like to have the variable traction control rather than the on/off. It's nice to have 0% slip in the wet for safty reasons, but I wouldn't mind being able to set it to 30% slip to have some fun now and again. Don't get me wrong I want to be safe, but I don't want to be boring at the same time. I think the adjustable TC is perfect for me :) . I'll give GPS a shout when I get home and get a price off of them. If they will do a group thing (oh-err) I'll start a fresh post and se who's interested. Thanks for your help guys & girls. Stuart

I want to do it once and I want to do it right
Hi Paul, I totally agree about getting the small bits sorted first before going forthe mods. It's just I was speaking to Stuart (Wigan) last night and he sent me a vid of his car after traction control was fitted, by watching thatand speaking to him about the way his car now handles I got all excited  . Hopefully Jeff will let me know what else needs attention when he gets the car on Monday, if its not too much I'll get it sorted while he has it. Looking forward to seeing all your cars on Sunday. I'll probably bring my camcorder as well but it's not a digital one :( . Stuart

I want to do it once and I want to do it right
LOL, Sorry Mike, it was supposed to read I learn quick, but I guess you figured that one out for yourselves. OK, so traction control is a no no for now ?. I don't intend to get bigger wheels just yet. As I'll wait until I need new tyres (just had them replace so give me a couple more weeks :D ). When I get new wheels I'll go for skyline brakes at the same time. Probably not for a while I gotta save a fair bit. In regards to servicing I intend to do an oil and filter change every 3000 - 4000 miles. Anything else that you would advise I do and if so what timescales ?. Do you guys all use semi synthetic or something else ? Stuart

Got my 1st 300tt !!!!!
I'll leave this to the experts, but I just want to say, that the pressure hiss when filling at petrol station is the same as mine. Is this normal ?. I'm using super unleaded.

I want to do it once and I want to do it right
Hi peeps, ok, had my Zed for 5 days now. Got my tax, 2 new goodyear F1's on the front and it's booked in with Jeff on Monday for a week to be well and truley pampered. Should be getting Cam belt, water pump, oil & filter change, Thermostat & TB clean, then it's gonna get a brake upgrade Bremo pads and discs on the front and new discs with kevlar pads on the back. New brake hoses all round, then a little tidying up of the underside of the front drivers wing. Finally some locking wheels nuts and a nice Engine clean and detail. Ok, I aready have stuff mentioned at the bottom. After watching Stuarts home video's (no, ther other ones ):p, I've decided that I really want traction control as my next mod. I'm currently running at 315BHP. Would anyone like to persaude me to upgrade to something else first or am I thinking on the right lines of grip first then ease the power on ?. Please treat me like a new Modda as I have owned a 7 series beema for 5 years and never even opened the bonnet. I earn quick, so don;t be affraid to over load my CPU. ;) Stuart

For those of you on Broadband
If you can get the Blue yonder 1024 for £35 then I would go for it. I'm with NTL and I have 2 x 600k connections in my house, one for me and one for the mrs. The download speed are quite good and are very useful as I am a bit of a VCD freak and download most movies on WINMX a good few months before they come out over here. The only bummer thing about NTL is they restrict your upload speed to 15Kb/sec. It's not a problem when you are downloading but when your friend wants "the Hulk" in mpeg format it may take a while even if you are acting as an FTP server for him. I'm not sure if I've helped or confused you even more.

Anyone want to buy a 300zx?
I thik the fact that you had the major service done by Nissan will put a lot of people off. :D Only kidding mate. I have a few friends at work who were so impressed with my Zed, they want one of their own. I'll have a word. Where are you located ?

Kent meet
No but if somethings gonna have to go topless there nothing better looking than a 300zx with no targa pannels :) .

I'll be bringing my digital camera as well. And a pen and paper so I can look around at the other Zed's and start making a wish list :D

225 Tyres
I have a 90 Jap inport which has stock wheels. 245/45 ZR16 on back and 225/50 ZR16 on the fronts. All I can say is the previous owner must have swaped the backs for UK stock. Top Bloke !
-
225 Tyres
Unless I am very mistaken - I wanted to add this but I still can't edit. Have to wait until craig sets me up :(
-
225 Tyres
Sounds like the previous owner of your car was a either a cheap skate or a little confussed. Standard Jap import with stock wheels should be front 225/50 ZR16 and back 245/45 ZR16.
