I know what you mean. My car idles at 2k when its cold. But it still drives ok, just need to work the clutch a little more.

Hi and Welcome. Congratulations on becoming a new Z owner. I used to have a thing about superbikes too until my accident in 97 where I was in hospital for a while with temp paralisys. Ok now though, but haven't riden on the roads since. I stil race on the track now and then. So you actaully drove 700 miles to get your Z ?. Wow that' s going some.

Thanks Keith. I will try to turn off the US sensors to see if these are causing the problems. Do you happen to have a manual for this alarm or know wher I can get one ?. Thanks Stuart. I'll check the wiring to the door boot and bonnet sensors. Although the problem doesn't happen all the time, just now and then. Maybe the contacts just ned cleaning, I'll give em a emery.

Hi all, I'm having a few problems wih my larm. It's a Laserline 996 V2. Now and then (and getting more often) when I arm my alarm it arms and then gives three short beeps. I know that if I walk away now then the alarm will go off within a couple of minutes. This is supposed to happen when one of the doors is not shut or the lights are still on etc. But I can't find anything not shut or not on. Anyone know what these beeps are or does anyone have or know when I can get an instruction manual to look this up ?. Help needed as my car is unprotected.

TBH I feel it's not about miles per gallon. Cause the Zed don't do that many, but compare it to Smiles per gallon and you're gonna get loads.

My last tank of petrol where I drove the car's nuts off gave me 148 miles. LOL That's just over £40 of Optimax. ....and yes I did come out of 1st gear.:rolleyes:

Can't say for sure as I'm not an expert when it comes to Fuel systems, but a couple of guys on here have had problems when using normal unleaded. The previous owner of my car only used normal unleaded for the 6 months he had it. It seem to run ok, but the first time I filled it up I used optimax and the idle was all over the place the car had breathing difficulties. I was just about to take it in to get it sorted, but I thought I'd fit my traction control first. I disconnected the ECU to fit the TC, when I connected it back up all my problems were gone. So it seems that if you do have problems reboot your ECU (or just disconnect the battery for 30 mins) and this will probably sort most of them if not all of them out.

I know someone who sells Carbon fibre stereo face plates that you could cut to conseal the gap. Or Bob may have something. Give me a shout if you want me to put you in touch.

I found a button stashed away under the steering column. I have no idea what it is or what it does. How do I find out (safely) ? I'll get a picture if it helps. oh mines J'spec TT 2+2 on a G.

I don't take my car to Tesco or B&Q. I mean whats the point. You can;t fit hardley anything in them anyway. May as well just take the A to B'er to places with busy car parks.

I don't want to be seen to gain from your loss, more letting you know that you won;t have a problem shifting the car as spares, but if you do buy the car back and you get another Zed. You can put my name down for a zorst from either car.
