  1. MJP - Mike Feeney for the slave cylinder and Danny Zatt from DTA Motorsport for the braided lines.
  2. I've never heard of low power mode on an NA. I'm not saying there isn't such a thing, just that I've never heard of it. On a TT, yes if Det is picked up by then sensor then the ECU goes into Saftey mode cutting the boost down to 7psi. My initial thought of the 3000rpm theory was either AFM or Coil packs. But then if you are saying once you get to 5k it's fine, that pretty much rules both of those out. When you ay they plugged a computer into it, was it a datascan or conzult and did they check the O2 sensors ?. Is there any difference in performance between when the car is hot / cold ? Vibration through the steering wheel is not going to be prop related unless the whole car is vibrating. No vibration on the brake pedal when braking would usually mean that the wheels need balancing. Wheel balancing is a tricky on as it's fine until a certain range of MPH then vibrates but then as you go past this MPH range it's smnooth again. If that's your symptoms, then get all of your whels balanced to make sure you rules the cheapest options out first. If you are looking for garage recomendations and are not 100% hapy with Ztech, then I would also reccommend Zworld. Jeff's knowledge on 300zx's is vast and he's probably seen pretty much all possibly problems with the car at one point of another. It's up in Birmingham, but in my opinion you know that if you take it there, you will get it back working as it should.
  3. There only seems to be 4 cars on there now.
  4. You can cash them in at the royal mint for £50. I think there were only 800 in circulation anyway, so very rare you will find one and if you do it's £50 worth. However if 750 of those people cash them in at the mint, the more that get destroyed, the more the others are worth. They estimate that in 5 - 10 years they will be worth £200 each.
  5. I'm on there http://www.twitter.com/pinnacle1974
  6. What ever happened to inocennt until proven guilty. He never was, so no matter what your view is. If you say things like he was a pedo on a public forum, the forum could well be prosocuted for libel if someone was to take it that far. It's a dangerous leagal game, but then that's why we have a committee and mods, to stop any slander or libel comments that could lead this froum to prosocution.
  7. Any chance you can start a slag Jacko thread, rather than chuck loads of slander on here not ever 24 hours after he has passed away. At least that way people know not to open that post if they don't want to read it. R.I.P Michael
  8. I liked all of his stuff apart from "ben"
  9. I turned it on about 5 minutes before he went 70,000 feet in that plane. Very interesting to watch it. Wish I had seen the whole program rather than just half of it.
  10. Fluctuation of air across the induction kit. If you have repalced your air box with a cone filter, then at speeds the air will be forced into the filter. This is only usually apparent when you are lightly on the accelerator and trying to maintain speed rather than accelerate. If it happens when you are trying to increase speed then it's not likely to be caused by this. If it does sound similar towhat I described above, have a read up on making a wind guard for the induction.
  11. I'm a bit gutted about this to be honest. I managed aquire 2 free platinum tickets in Copse A for today. Along with a free kangaroo tv rental which allows you to listen to the team radio, switch to in-car camera views etc. Also had two VIP passes from Santander which give you access to certain zones that are usally restricted to the public. Unfortunatley I coudn't get the time off of work. So I had to pass the tickets onto my cousin who is there now, hopefully having a good time. The adgenda for today if I remember rightly is two F1 practice sessions, The Porche Cup practice session, the BMW practice and qualifiying session and the RAF Falcons air show, along with some GP2 stuff.
  12. Very easy to change. The ignition barrel can give you a little grief but the rest are easy (once you strip all the trim off).
  13. I would get yourself a new set of locks for the doors, boot and ignition barrel off of someone breaking a car. Did you have a remote alarm key i.e. opens the dorrs via the key fob ?. If so then get yourself an appointment to the specalists to have the remote and alarm reprogrammed to a different signal.
  14. Looking good mate, Good to see they finished your driveway as well :) Little Oli will be pleased :)
  15. Same tubs and injectors as mine. If I was you Leigh I would run 19 psi on it rather than 22. at 19 psi you will be running 85% cycle duty on those injectors. Yes the tubs are good for 24psi but I would only run between 21- 24 on race fuel. Injectors will start to max out at 21 ish. if you car is anything like mine was. It's gonna be really rapid at 19psi anyway.
  16. Really sorry to hear this. Court proceedings on this should have started a long time ago mate. What was 4k or solicitors fees for ?. He should have issued a court cummons a long time ago to stop wasting your money. Get the ball rolling now. Phone citizens advise and listen to the automated proceedures about mechanics and car traders and your next steps forward.
  17. There is a big debate about how to run engines in. Going from a steddy less than 3krpm for the first 500 miles all the way up to rev the nuts off it as soon as you start it up to bed in the pistons. You should run it in as advised by your mechanic who is doing the rebuild. I would do the first oil & filter change after 100 miles, then 500 miles, then 1000 miles. The whole point of running an engine in is to minimise the friction between the moving parts. The most friction should come straight after the build, so as the metal grinds against metal (not as drastic as that) you want to be flushing away the greese and tiny metal filings that may have been collected in your oil.
  18. When looking at turbo's you are going to need to consider the other hidden costs. i.e. if you move to the JWT 500's you can keep your existin downpipes as they are 4 bolt. Anything like the JWT530BB's or above then you'll also need 5 bolt down pipes. I had 530bb's fitted on my old Zed and it was pushing over 530bhp (dyno maxed out) at 16psi. It's running at 19psi now and can happily run 21psi when needed (24psi on race fuel). Unfoturnatley the new owner has not had a chance to dyno it yet at 19psi so we are not sure of the exact figure that it's pushing. But what I can say is put aside the BHP figure, the car was rapid. it started spooling at 2,400 rpm and pulled all the way to red line without a single let off. If I was to get another 300zx, then the JWT530bb's with Mike smith manifold, 555 injectors and inocol downpipes would be on the list straight away.
  19. Water can't evaporate unless it's got somewhere to go. i.e. atmosphere. your cooling system should be sealed therefore unless you have a leak or you have allowed the water temp to rise that high that it has found a way out. You should not loose any water. As the water rises in temp, it rises in pressure and will expand into your expansion tank. As it cools it's pressure drops and it will contract pulling water from the expansion tank. If you are loosing water somewhere, it's likely to be doing it when the water it at it's hottest. The best thing to do to check this is open the bonnet there and under the car when the car is hot and you turn the engine off. Turning the engine off stops the fans and the pump and therefore it's left to cool on it's own, which is not easy on a hot engine, therefore it may continue to heat up a little more straight after turning the engine off and therefore if it has a leak it will find it at this point. Common places to look for water leaks are. Top rad hoses. around the seal of the radiator. Small rubber hoses mounted from the center of the engine and connect to the hardpipes that then connect ot the rad. Heater matrix pipes at the back of the engine.
  20. Ranked 2nd in the world. Ronaldo is rank 1st, but after last nights match some people may question that :)
  21. Who's going to cook the burgers in Maccy D's now ???? :D Good luck mate.
  22. I wanted Man U to win being an english team, but knew that Barca would taken em down. Man U had a few attempts in the first 10 mins, but then got de motivated after the first BC goal. BC's defense was outstanding and Messi was putting Ronaldo's title or worlds best player to shame.
  23. What's the problem with the sump mate ?. Oil valve or dip stick stuck in ? Either way, if you don't want to take the engine out, use the cut and weld appraoch, depending on the reason you want to remove it.
  24. It's under the headlight pannel between the headlights for starters.;)
