So i had my new zed out for the first time today, had the brakes sorted and fixed the headlight beam alignment. Nipped to a local supermarket and wondered to the back of the carpark to hide from usual people that like to dent doors... And would you adam and F'in believe it i spotted this, a Yellow UK TT Manual with a black 99 spec spoiler on a H plate parked at the bottom of the carpark. Didnt look too bad but im not a fan of the chrome v6 and tt badges :s and also GTR power??!

Ahh I've been faced with this before, went to my local nissan dealer and asked for some bits for my old one when it was being converted. They were gear gaitor leather and rubbers i think, i mean nothing major. After being asked twice if i was sure my car was a nissan he finally found the 300zx (no idea as to what the car was), I then said it was an import and he said "oh it'll be different then". I mean hang on a minute, 30 seconds ago you didnt know what the dam car was, so how do you know its any different... LOL What a tool.

Was just about to ask that question... Now the fact that the car idles smoothly doesnt rule out the fact there is a leak at higher boost pressures. maybe the system can take 14 psi, but not anymore than 18 as maybe a small split in a hose that opens and closes? Or maybe an ill fitting jube clip thats allowing pressure past once it exceeds 18psi or so

Crap intercoolers??? If it wont boost past 18psi when there are no actuators involved then there has to be a leak in the system somewhere. You need to wack 30 psi through the system and see what happens. It must leak somewhere, duck tape - fix the leak :D

Make sure its not a 316, as early ones were belt. Easiest way to check is on a coupe (obviously no 318i (8 valve), only 318is (16 valve) ) the only other four pot was a 316i, they had rear drum brakes instead of disc as on the 318is and 6 cylinder models!

What is it you've bought mate? Another 318is? Looks a clean thing. Cambelt though?? 318is's were all chain driven! Either M42 or m44 engine.

Im sat on a train from motherwell to lancaster as we speak, free wifi, free drinks and food, quiet and comfy... Why bother to drive! Joys of first class travel! Bargain as well, 0.50p more than standard "pleb" class lol. Even better value when the company is paying for it!
