Hi!
Haha nono Im a huge fan of quick hondas actually, I nearly went that way with a 1.8vti mb6a few years ago, but I went for a 323i in the end and sort of good hooked on displacement, so two 300zx's and an M3 Evo later im still here! You'll do well with a nice 300zx, not as snappy or nippy i suppose is the term as your integra/that kind of car but the torque is just fantastic, overtaking without changing down is just fantastic!

Hi!
Welcome, That is a nice car my friend! Excellant choice of a first 300zx. Be so careful though, a 300zx will develop the same max torque as a Teggy Type R at tick over ;)... Or to come from the other side, after so many months of turbo lag on your teggy you'll finally be on boost :D

Ive seen those prices before, in contrast my old M3 Evo was 40,500 in 1997 as an ex demo car with nearly 6k on the clock! Poor first owners, fleeced to within and inch of their lives! LOL

Team Building...
I spoke to my boss earlier today, we were ment to be dong a team building thing this comnig weekend but have cancelled it due to awkwardness with one of the reps so we didnt actually book anything... Anway long story short he asked me to look at organising it and doing something. Problem is I really dont know where to start as to what to do. There will be like 6 of us (small company!) Two guys who are like 50/60, two that are 30 ish and another guy and me who are early (ish!!) 20's Has anyone got any ideas as to what we could do that isnt going to bore me to death but isnt going to kill the oldies! Boss also wants to go abroad somewhere, poland or something!

Front Camber? Tyres wearing on inside edge
Just been having a look around, the products advertised by Z centre, are they the same as the products advertised on ebay? Obviously not the same as the powertrix and SPL items on smithys place although the price difference is startling! I need to do my tension rods anyway so might as well do it at the same time!

Front Camber? Tyres wearing on inside edge
No need to get smart with me ;) lol I was only asking! Aye will try and book it in for tracking asap. Do I need anything along with adjustable top arms or can i just buy those and have them fitted and the problem will go away??

Front Camber? Tyres wearing on inside edge
Right, got a little problem my front tyres are wearing heavily on the inside edge. The car is lowered on springs with stock shocks. Apart from that its on standard suspension. What do I need to fix the problem? :) I think its down to the lowering, and I assume its adjustable top arms?? I really dont have much of a clue with suspension to be honest! The rears are fine and dandy, just the fronts are quite bad. I think its whats contributing to its slight occasional nervousness on the front end! Help thank you please :)

D2 8 Pot Calipers
Ah that is interesting, I was of the impression that they were identical! Its not the calipers or the brackets that appeared to be different, we did check, it was the hubs on the car! So wether or not the car has had a new hub that is to different specifications to the original at some point Im not sure! As I said, the calipers and brackets were all beautifully made (and as far as I could tell the exact same dimensions), its just the attention to detail (i.e bolt length) that let the kit down really. As a heads up to people, if your going to do this allocate some time to it (at least a day!) and make sure youve got some way of making "adjustments" to the hub if required! :)

D2 8 Pot Calipers
Yeah does seem so! Im wondering if the kit I was sent was for something very similar to the 300zx... Im going to call the place on tuesday and ask what they think. Its not too much of a problem as they are on and work very well, just a bit disapointed in what appears to be a lack of attention to detail. Modification isnt somethnig I expect with a "Bolt on kit". The bolts issue which i forgot to mention on this topic was fairly major though, as the bracket is bolted through the original caliper mounting holes which are quite thick, the supplied bolts simply were not long enough, once they were through the hub there was maybe 3 or 4 turns of thread to bolt into the bracket, didnt come even half way through the bracket. Luckily I managed to find some with the same thread pattern that were considerably longer so that did the job!

D2 8 Pot Calipers
A friend of mine spent a while fitting these to my car today, nice looking kit until you start to try and fit them so I thought I would share our experience through today. First of all the braided lines only come with on grommet/fixing item on to secure them to the car, not a huge issue as we have sorted something similar using some inside out fuel line etc etc (Inspired piece of engineering!) Secondly there is only adjustment in the kit, (via spacers/shims/washes) in one direction, sadly the 300zx brackets really need it in the alternative direction. The result of this is taht you end up with a caliper that doesnt sit in the correct position, the only solutions is to take meat out of the back of hub mounting holes to move the mounting bracket outwards (towards the wheel face) and so moves the calipers accross. What a real pain! Now the really bizzare thing is that one side required alot more messing with than the other (drivers side) Is there a different in the hubs? Or was there a difference in years? Were only talking 1 or 2 mm here but its enough to cause no end of grief when you have to trim the oem hub to suit! You also have to remove the lug that supports the OEM hose bracket, not a huge issue again just no mention in the instructions! Now, what i will say is wow they are good, even not bedded in and they are a huge improvement over stock, even with the D2 pads (that I was told were rubbish...) Glad i tried them as so far they are perfectly good enough for road, I can always get some different ones later on!) Bleeding them was also very very easy, using a simple method mentioned by Znut some time ago, i suggested to my mechanic friend that we try bleeding htem up by just using gravity. He hadnt ever tried it, (since he has a vacuum bleeder in his own workshop, which was shut up for the weekend) so we both thought it would be a good idea to give it ago, and it worked very very well. In just a few minutes we had brake fluid coming through the bleed nipple (at the top of the caliper!!! :) ) and excellant pedal feel suprised at how little time it took and how well it worked. Previously used to having to pump and bleed which is alot more effort and takes alot longer!

Single or Dual exhaust ?
Quad the best by far! As vs a single can on my old car... yuk! Although two cans doesnt look two bad! Not a great picture but you get the idea!

Roof trims
Can anyone tell me an easy way of getting the top roof trims back on? They seem fairly awkward and the clips are pretty crap. Where's the best place to get them from? Or could I just bond the trims on and not bother with the clips? Already marked my new paint by trying to get these on! Most annoyed lol

Changing brembo pads
As far as I can tell they are the same as normal calipers mate. The rears are, as ive got a set to go on the car. The fronts are probably quite similar to the evo brembos i had for a week before selling them on again. All look the same, sprng bracket and two pins to hold the pads in. Easy Peasy :)
