  1. Lol powder coating isn't free though!
  2. Bar in mind though that an m series car is much more e pensive to run. Servicing must be done by either BMW or a proper specialist where a normal BMW isn't so highly strung. Parts are dramatically more expensive as well. For example 328i frot disks are about 120 per pair from BMW iirc, m3 evos were 110 each! Not such a problem but it's something else to bear in mind. Althogh they share the same body the cars beneath are very different. Usual stuff for an e39 m5 is mafs (there are two) vanos oftenoverhyped but if they are driven hard from cold and have the wrong oil grade it can cause issues. There is a guy in the uk now that can rebuild them now though. Like any car at high miles bushes and mounts tend to go. Good tyres are a must and make sure it has a full BMW or respected speciliast history. They are fairly understressed engines at 400bhp over 4.9l and so milage isn't always a problem aslong as it's been looked after.
  3. Can't paint a powder coating can you ;-) lol so what colour shall I paint them? Gunmetal grey?
  4. It's not a paint though, powder coating I think? Or does anyone have a paint code that produces the same effect?
  5. Okay hopefully third time lucky at this as my mate keeps letting me down, generally being bird gay and the such like! Anyway that old chestnut what colour shall i pair my rota gtr's. They are wider dish on the rear if that influences anyone choices/sugestions. I have been thinking bronze, or perhaps a gunmetal grey but so we have any more recomendations and any buddng photochoppers who would like to show me what my car would look like with different color wheels?
  6. diff mount or something like that?
  7. According to askmid its not insured doesnt mean its not about though, but other than that I couldnt tell you! :)
  8. Oh i know you are all a pain dawdling at 70!, thankfully my astra has no such limiter! The last non turbo van I drove were peugeot partners (yuk) and an early combo DI (joy!) Despite that, it appears according to the vw website that the 2.0 isnt turbo charged, and rocks in a 69bhp... I'm sorry dude! The 1.9 is turbo charged and is 104bhp
  9. I take it its a company van, are you sure there isnt a tracking device on the van? I assume its limited because the owners so wish it to be? I woud find out the repercussions of delimited it before actually doing it!
  10. There was a 2+2 model with a folding metal roof, it was a prototype built by a company in the states, ive got a load of pictures from when it was last for sale on ebay but they are on my home computer. Looked fatastic though I have to admit!
  11. What did I tell you! LOL Welcome back mate, i remember your username :) Good luck with finding another one!
  12. Like wise, i wonder is it possible to retrofit that to a none vert zed? Wouldnt mind a go in a vert actually, much as they are a different animal to the "normal" ones i do see the appeal as long as you dont need to get places quick ;)
  13. Deary me... http://pistonheads.com/sales/1808504.htm
  14. Yeah I must admit its becoming harder to and harder to find a nice car thats not been ruined. I do look quite regularly playing the "if i were looking what would I buy"... Not many that id go look at!
  15. Auto NA with the heaviest body shell (I think??) 0-60 in 8.5-9 seconds on a good day i'd have thought. Even the slowest TT @ 180bhp is 7.8 or so... Not too many of the 180's around! Most are the 225 IIRC http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201028363281790/sort/priceasc/usedcars/model/fairlady/make/nissan/quicksearch/true/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/la29pw?logcode=p Another one, although not a waffly advert, maybe these convertible things arent quite as rare as we thought ;) I cant see any TT slicktops for sale anywhere:gun_bandana:
  16. lol deary me... Must have been a stationary or very sick Audi TT!
  17. I would hazard a guess that windows simple wont do less than 640x480 as this is the minimum requirement for the OS. I have had a look and cant seem to find much in the way of a way of forcing a "custom" resolution. The reason why its flashing is possibly because the screen refresh rate is wrong for the head unit, It can be got to by going to display properties, settings, advanced and then the monitor tab and changing it to something lower I would have thought. Although even if it did work at 480x236 you wont really be able to see whats going on, the start button will take up half the screen lol. You could try this http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/lcd-display/42122-tutorial-forcing-custom-resolution-windows.html but I dont think it will do less than 640x480 personally!
  18. hehe it seems so! Still nice to see another one on the road (just!)
  19. Well the colour is a bit excessive in blackpool or outside of a track tbh! And that front bumper is just horrific. You cant really see it on that picture but its got some fairly poor front wings and front nose panel as well.
  20. Spotted this the other day in Blackpool, not looking hot IMHO but there we go. Up towards bispham :)
  21. 6 and 2 threes with the size of the cars, being a slicktop its got a solid instead of glass roof :) Only 6 inches shorter so they are a smaller car. Yeah I know it wasnt the absolute pristine job. No need to take the lights out really though as long as its masked properly and soft edged accordingly It was a bargain, I know that it should have been more than double at normal mates rates. Good friends of mine though, helped them out in many ways in the past. I took the car to bits and built it up though which of course helps! Its all waterbased now apparently for environment reasons? That bodyshop i used has had to change over to comply or something??
  22. Looks fully primed to me! The total job including food etc cost me £450. Granted the lads owned me some favors and it should have been £1000 or so but I did help them, we did it over the easter weekend so thursday evening, friday and saturday http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1366463&postcount=22
  23. £700 for paint?! You need a new supplier! Hell... I'll be honest it was certainly mates rates but I did cover paint and material costs and paid them a little something but my respray was alot less than that all in! I know it wasnt bare metal but it was a serious job. I cant see how a bare metal would use anymore paint than a "normal" respray.
  24. I think £1200 is a bit much for materials personally, I have to admit i ment to put £3000 plus lol
