Tough ones baz, the first is probably a cable issue BUT could easily be the monitor on its last legs. Best way to test is to swap it over for another screen if you have one or can borrow one and see if that does anything similar. If the second screen does do the same it could be your video card, quite often they overheat if the fans fail or heat sinks get blocked and simply switch of in order to save them selves from rear damage. As you might imagine it makes it difficult to see whats on screen :) As for the laptop, assuming that the network connections (is it wireless or wired?) are working properly it sounds like its further infected with crap. If its so bad I would personally back it up and reinstall windows. Another quick fix option is system restore, doesnt always work but if you restore it to a time when all was well that can often fix these isssues. They arnt a dear part thats the annoying bit, ive got a figure of £8 stuck in my head but I might have made that up! As mentioned though the problem is you have to take the gearbox of to change it!

I never said a truck isnt allowed in the middle lane, I just said they shouldnt be. Anticiption is fine, infact it should be tought more in driving lessons. What wagon drivers DONT do is look/care/think about the approaching speed of vehicles from behind them before just hacking their way out. I remember quite a while ago being stuck behind a truck that was overtaking a JCB, fine no problem at all. There was a que of cars behind the truck. Now a truck that we had all over taken maybe a mile back came hammering up the inside of all of us and proceeded to barge its way into the second lane. In the process pushing me onto the grass verge in the middle. Now there was no need for that stupid selfish and dangerous act. I wouldnt mind if it was isolated but as said above it just seems like the profession attracts bullys and because of the size lets them get away with it.

I had -12 the other night on the astra on the motorway around preston. Obviously at that temperature grit salt becomes useless so needless to say i was watching that like a hawk to make sure it didnt drop anymore! Stupidly cold though, my zed has been left with its nice jacket of snow since it came back from scotland. So I Have driven it once this month... does make u think is the insurance and tax worth it! lol

Ah good good mate! Glad its all sorted, I had a simiar issue with mine, i sent it to a garage a few days after I had bought it for them to do some work on it including changing the rear calipers and they called me to tell me that the fronts were on the wrong side, hence the spongy pedal... In my defence the previous owner had changed the "bled" the front brakes before delivering the car to me and I simply drove it to the garage and thought hell fire this stops like a duck on a frozen lake!

What did you want us to say? You have started a topic insulting car drivers, so what do you expect back? Maybe it is more difficult but seeing as modern truck are generally automatic, have cruise control and every other mod con. Just because its bigger doesnt mean its impossible to drive? I admit if a car pulls infront of you its a problem but what about when your coming up at 70+mph and you have two wagonss, both very slow doing 30mph in the inside lane. One things he can get passed the other so pulls into themiddle at 30.25mph and suddenly the car behind has to jam on the brakes because of the dangerous and selfish driving of the wagon driver.... Only way I found is (quite funny I have to admit) was to push em back behind the one they want to over take. There is a big hill near me and two wagons dueling up it, so i simply pulled infront of the offending muppet and let of the accelerator. Now however much of flashing horns and lights he either hits me or slows down and gets back where he belongs in the inside lane. Not nice being slowed down by other inconsiderate drivers is it?

You see this mac rubbish about it being more reliable, it just isnt and can't be... Mainly because they are actually the same hardware these days so really there is no reason why you cant make a "PC" run some mac software... You could dual boot them that way. I admit apple products are generally fairly well made and are pretty to look at but good god they are annoying. Like why cant i have a second battery for my iPhone... It lasts a day, what if i'm away without my charger? My previous phones I often had a spare battery for, simply swap it over and we are away. Anyawy not talking about phones... The sole reason for the "security" and "stability" of mac machines is for this reason and this reason alone: There simply isnt the software or the number of combinations and choice that there is in the PC world, sadly the PC world is targetting with all the might of people who want to affect the most people with their malicious software. Why both affected 5% of the population when you can affect 92%. (Figures are aprox!) Hence the mac system doesnt have to deal with the malicious side of things, and nor does it have anything like the flexibility. I'm not saying you cannot do stuff on a mac, but where as on a mac there might be 10 pieces of software to do one job, ona PC there could easily be 10,000. THey appear to run faster simply because there is no crap to slow them down, just think of the junk you run on your PC. I do find the mac system dragging back to its routes of unix on occasion as well. My sister ha a Macbook pro and she wanted to delete the items on a pen drive. So she went into the control panel and found a way of doing it. Amazingly the pendrive then showed a max capacity of 4kb (it was a 2gb stick) so she brought it to me and I realised what the thing had actually done. Deleted the files, and the file allocation table. Basically removed the partiton from it. Now I'm not being funny but what kind of home user is normally capable of working that out. My sister is a graphic designer, no idea about formatting/file storage systems or anything like that. - She was planning on buying another pen drive! Stupid system, I admit the user is technically at fault but you would have to be trying dam hard in windows to do something similar!

Change gear change gear change gear, murder a prosie change change gear... lol To be fair I have a couple of friends who are wagon drivers, its hardly rocket science. Boring more than anything! I dont denai there are good and bad lorry drivers, but few seem to have little regard for other road users or the delays they cause. Rob, I was meaning on 4 lane stretches such as from the M56 to the M62 junction on the M6, or going up towards saddleworth on the M62 does my tree in! On two lane stretches, or stretches of 4 lane which is merging into 2 motorways (such as M6 J32 for the M55 they block all that up as well. nightmare!

They dont, just your van speedo is out... lol like most of them are! :) If they exceed 56mph it goes on the tacho and woe betide any that get inspected! I admit alot of car drivers are a pain but good god wagon drivers can be very inconsiderate, rarly look in the mirrors long enough to judge speed and just pull out, or bully their way out even if there are cars beside them. Again, over taking should be banned between 4 in the mornnig and right through till 2 the next morning ;) Maybe not, but 6 am till 8pm at the very least! Especially on 4 or greater lane motorways. Absolute nightmare when you have 3 lanes completly blocked by wagons... Problem then is john and mavis out with the caravan, wobble into lane 4 (of course completly illegally but they dont know/care/realise what lane they are in) and all hell breaks loose as 150 black audi a4 base models think, ohh a que and howl up the inside of everyone and push their way in...

Yup, rear calipers on left to right :) There is no way you could have bled them properly so I would say there is your culprit.... Or BMC as Jef said :detective: Correct!
