  1. sorry to change topic but on my j spec i dont have a psi meter its something like hmmg and goes up to 7 whats that equate to in psi
  2. think your self lucky, mines doing 50 miles to 20 quid just normal town driving , cruise on mine dont work either but then i hardly cruise, but sounds like u got a nice one there, happy zedding.
  3. well begin with thoroughly reading all the info on the tech site regarding buying a z, buying guide its very informative and its what i did, insurnace is a nightmare but theres a page somewhere with lots of companies on, do a search and u should find it, i have a j spec tt auto and it certainly does have a kick so maybe that car wasnt running right, then again my car has no history so i dont know wether its been upgraded, i too was a reformed rs turbo addict but in comparison nothing ive had can touch the z, as to manuals yes they are quite rare
  4. just picked me car up from main dealers after having a consult daignosis, and the only fault they could find was that the coolant tempreature sensor didnt seem to be working, it basically didnt change when car was given some stick, just read a constant 70 degrees or so and they couldnt get the fan to kick in, me mate showed me the switch on the alloy pipe thing at the front of the engine and it did seem in a sorry state, so he basically said the fueling would be wrong cos the ecu thinks the engine is cold even tho its not, he recommended a new switch and connector, are the uk and j spec coolant temp sensors the same.
  5. the z i have now it the first auto car ive owned, i'd driven some autos before and to be honest they were dire, the z how ever for me is a different story, its damn fast away from the lights and mid range acceleration is pretty awesome too, i was pretty scared with the amount of power the tt have on tap as standard and the auto box at first is a bit daunting, u dont feel control u have with a manual, after a couple of weeks i was grinning all over the place. Take it for a spin and make your own mind up, im sure you will be suprised how responsive they are, just pootling a long at a steady 40 and floor it and watch the scenery blur. but obviously not in the wet unless u like looking out the side window while going forwards.
  6. ok had a look on the tech site, my mate works at nissan dealer and says he can get it on the consult jobbie, will this show a fault, ie does the ecu record previous error codes like some mazdas do. also will the later ptu fit straight in place of the old style
  7. it happened with just slight gas on and turning a corner both times similar speed and turning, its an auto btw
  8. hi, i had a search but couldnt find anything similar, nice cold frost morning, key wont go in lock, some hot water sorted that out, anyway i gets car started and de iced wingscreen, car was idling for about 5 minutes no prob, pulls off down street everything seems ok, 2 minutes later at a junction im waiting in traffic 30 seconds maybe, then light change i pull right on to main road with a little gas just as car is leveling up on to main road it dies, this was while in D and a touch of gas, all lights come on dash, i have to switch off reset imobiliser car restarts no prob and i drive off. hmm i thought maybe its just cold. so on the way home i takes the long way home :D and get car up to normal temp everything seems fine. pulling onto estate then turning left with gas on car stalls again, but restarts first time and gets me home in one if somewhat puzzled piece. anyone got any ideas, thanks rob

i put 20 quid in the other week and just normal town driving to work and back it did 50 miles dunno what that equates to but being as my soop would do 40 miles to a tenner its quite thirsty
  11. iirc u shouldnt need a driver disk for the usb pci card, it loads a driver file from C:\windows\options\cabs on oem machines or from the win98 disk on other systems, did it detect new hard ware on startup, if not as the others say bung it in another slot
  12. basically what i did using Tinyfirewall was if i knew someone was sending me something or it happens when i click something then i allowed it, if not block it. i dont use any now tho, cos me router got a built in firewall.
  13. one for the wet (turbo of course hehe) and one for the dry, nice 28 had it about 2 months and can live with the really low gas mileage, 50 miles to 20 quid best money i ever spent
  14. me personally wouldnt let them drive it, unless on a private road with no trees cars or ditches. if there serious about buying im sure spending that amount of cash on a very specialised car they can afford a professional check over.
  15. when u say run your aircon, i was under the impression it was switched on automatically, i dont seem to have a switch or am i blind?
  16. well im ok on most of them pointers, but just a few im not sure of where IS the screenwash bottle, 90 tt auto jspec btw and what typre pressure should i run, wheels are 18's with 225 40's on the front and 265 35's on the back, bear in mind i have lots of speed ramps where i live and dont want to lose too many teeth :D
  17. come to think of it when i first had the car it had been valetted and the carpet was very damp, maybe we havent had enough dry weather yet for it to get all the moisture out the car, the passy side targa does drip a bit also, and my rear hearted screen dont work either, roll on summer ........
  18. why is the inside of my car constantly wet, the rear screen, side windows and front screen are always constantly covered in water, i take out for a spin get it all nicely cleared, then overnight its as damp as hell again. very annoying to say the least. is there anything i can do to help prevent this.
  19. my auto got stuck also in car park, just reversing up and car stalled, very embarrasing lots of people honking horns at me. panicked like mad and noticed little red switchy thing on the back of the lever, pressed this in and all was well again, dont no if it was some sort of overide switch or what but hasnt done it since.
  20. theres a link somewhere i found that list all the diferences from day 1 upto current spec, and i think the purple is a standard colour too, dont remember where i saw the link tho
  21. footman james did me at 488 fully comp, 28 with 6 years ncb and no points no garage or tracker required either like some companys i laughed at.
  22. i think the grey z's look cool also, i think my red z was originally grey, and i'm seriously considering having it resprayed when the summer comes, altho ive seen a nice metalic aubergine colour, almost black in the shade but when the light hits it its kinda of a pearl effect, just have to see how much cash i got next year and see then.
  23. What is Carbon Fibre? Carbon fibre is made of one of life's base elements - carbon. Carbon fibres are fine filaments, made up of elemental carbon. Fibre types range from amorphous carbon to crystalline graphite. The main features of carbon fibre as a material for design and manufacture are:- 1. Incredibly high tensile strength, approximately 15 times the strength of construction steel. 2. High rigidity, up to 3 times the stiffness of steel. These two features mean that carbon fibre is a great material for making high performance products. It is also a great material for design. The high strength to weight ratio, in combination with high rigidity, offers superior design freedom. This has led to carbon fibre being used in a diverse range of products, from yachting to high performance motor vehicles, to sporting goods. Working with carbon fibre is a real challenge for the designer. The material is complex, with movable fibre orientation, and it's performance parameters are not yet well understood in the general design community. As designers begin to understand carbon fibre, as material costs fall, and as more efficient process technologies are developed, carbon fibre will become a major material used to produce a wide variety of products.
