Hi its not that easy to replace, and i dont think that will cause your engine to smoke you must be in safty boost too cant you get it to a garage to get it checked out you may need alot of work done to it .

no it was not raining it was dry, i was doing 70 and then it felt like it was holding back then the lights came on igition etc, weird.

Hi Tommy21 no it didnt smell of fuel maybe it had something to o with fuel though.

Was driving saturday on motorway put my foot down and the car started to hold back and stutter i was in the fast lane made my way to the hard shoulder just as i did so it cut out. I noticed as the car hesitated the first time my hicas light came on but i topped this upthe day before so it was not low,anyway tried to start the car and it just turned over fast without starting for two turns of the key then it started. Went to get back on motoway again stuttered again but did not cut out ,so left it running for a min then drove the rest of the way home without any hesitation. Now the car cut out on me a few weeks ago and i changed the PTU S1 for the new type so what else could cause the car to act like that ? any ideas guys.:(

Take the fuse out for the fuel pump easier.

Does the car turn over fast but wont start? could still be the PTU even if you did clean connectors mine went last week S1 PTU hope you fix it.

I was driving friday and engine just cut out,turned key and engine turned over fast left it 10 mins it started and got me the 3 miles home im sure mine is a PTU issue goning to change it for a S2.

hi mate TPS is cheap but it may be your PTU will it still not start?

Had a manual convertion done a couple months ago and it was fine but im starting to get a noise in second gear the most when pulling away the third it sounds like a scraping sound i dont hear it in 4th or 5th and if you dip the clutch it goes any ideas guys thanks.

No it was not you, it was the beckton end mate, loads of white smoke as he pulled away gently. :(
