Anyone know which wire on the MAF is just black and which is black with silver bits?
It looks like the connector is polorised. The middle one of the five wires (black) is going to engine ground. The other 'B' wire (ie not the middle of the five) is going to the ecu.

can YOU help ME ? :)
PSI and Bar are both measures of pressure. PSI meaning "Pounds Per Square Inch". Basically the old Imperial method. Bar seems to be the preferred International version. 1 pound per square inch = 0.0689475729 bar 1 bar = 14.5 psi http://www.britishmetrics.com/html/pis-bar.htm You've also got "Atm" meaning Atmospheres, Centimetres of Water, Centimetres of Mercury, to confuse even more.

electric jacks
Yeh, a van might be a bit different ;)

electric jacks
I presume it is a 1 tonne jack (like most small scissor jacks) but is ok for a 2 tonne car because you don't lift the whole car on one ickle jack, do you ;) i.e. you usually have the other wheels on the ground taking most of the weight.

Exchanging Jap N/A clocks for UK TT clocks!!!
Not your series 4 one. The screw posts are in totally different places.

Exchanging Jap N/A clocks for UK TT clocks!!!
Series 1 or 2. (Not sure what, if any, the differences are between them). I know of one other type that has the guages the same as those, but the connectors the same as ours. I assume that's the series 3 one.

Ah, bugger. That's the one that won't fit. :( This is my series 4 cluster:

Odometer and Trip meter not working!
Sometimes its just dirt on the motor/gears that stops them turning. The speedo is not sealed so gets full of crap. Cleaning might fix it.

Exchanging Jap N/A clocks for UK TT clocks!!!
Dave, have you got a pic of the rear of the new speedo? You may be lucky with the direct swap as I have seen old ones with what looked like the same rear connectors (series3?). Graham.

Totally. The plugs on the rear of the cluster are a different size so you can't just plug it in. Plus, the screw mounts for the dials are in different places too, so you can't simply swap them over either. It's a bugger really.

Series 1 & 2 are interchangable (and probably series 3 too). Series 4 is very different. I found that out the hard way.

  Sumfink not right there. PLUS they won't fit anyway because you have a series 4 Zed.

Odometer and Trip meter not working!
That doesn't help if the actual stepper motor is goosed though. I had to get a new motor. Plus the series 4 odometer is different (you can't simply wind it backwards because the gears lock).
