  1. Nice! It matches the carpet!
  2. Exactly! and they are taped up anyway. Thanks for your concern though! Oh yes! this is the temporary one while I save the pennies to get my custom one made! Have you not got the other one on yours yet? Andy
  3. Ugh? lol! Am I being thick here? I don't get it! I prefer crimps as they are tougher than a solder (often spiky) with heat shrink on it. Therefore:- less chance of shorting out. I agree some crimps are crap but if you buy a ratcheted crimping tool and decent crimps then it's a good quick and more importantly - consistent solution. I've never had any problems in the last seven years since I bought the ratchet crimper. :winkiss:
  4. Nice purchase!! Whack the black rims on!!
  5. Thanks for the comments guys. Groover - I'll call you!! Little video - sad I know!!
  6. Finally got the thing finished! Took the water temp gauge out and replaced with new 60mm unit - plenty of room behind the facia. A dab or two of tiger seal and it's not going anywhere used the redundant bulb holder hole for cable access - I even adapted the old holder to support the wire (not shown in this picture). Had to cut the wire and put a plug in line which I took from my breakers engine bay. Thanks to Groover for helping me with the wiring in at the ECU and also for supplying some nice 5 way led's. Top bloke! Engine bay all tidied up. New adapted de-annodised and welded in place of old sender, then rounded of and re-polished, cables tucked away - yeah I know, I'm taking stealth way to seriously! At first glance it's hard to notice!!! (also re- coloured my faux suede cowl with shoe dye as it was going green lol!) Here's a closer look! Finally - night time view. The gauge comes with a remote and had a dimmer facility so I can get it to match the brightness of the other dials. I have now got boost, water temp, EGT, rpm, speed, fuel, mph, volt, AFR and oil pressure (the old one) all available with minimal interference to the oem look. I'm now looking to re- locate the fuel gauge to the old boost position if I can find a oem gauge that goes left to right. That will leave the right hand side hole for an oil temp and/or decent oil pressure gauge...... Any way, what do you think? (just waiting for youtube to load a little video.....)
  7. Lol! Cheers Mate. Running? Kind of - got to swap out the alternator and get a new battery and sort the electric drain. Plus lot's more. Picked up a set from Darth Vader yesterday so should be ok for the minute on wheel mate but thanks for the offer.
  8. Can't see that happening mate! I love it and I've just found a guy who does carbon fibre backed with Kevlar!!! Watch this space!!
  9. That's a nice piece of work. Would look great in carbon fibre.
  10. Bloody Hell!!! Where's Harry Hill when you need him?!! First of all let's all not get FACT confused with OPINION!! lol!! How ever, here are the facts.... only kidding! Like Yowser I am also a fan of design and appreciate subtle enhancements. The 89 spec was a great spoiler of the late eighties - HOWEVER - the majority of the zed's lines where way ahead of it's time - to a degree, timeless as are all great designs. So if you look at the two as individual items you can see where young Yowser is coming from - a 89 spoiler being stuck on (as most spoilers tend to be) a car that could have been designed 10 years later. Therefore as we look at the two designs now we see two different things. I'm pretty confident that the team that designed the cars lines didn't design the spoiler. In defense of the 89 spoiler it does extend the lines of the rear a little and the straight line (from the rear) which does help the zed look wider. Also if you look side on, your eye follows the top of the spoiler which compliments the up sweep of the bottom of the bumper. The twinz one has that missing - this doesn't make it wrong, just different. They have made it look less stuck on from most angles. For me, I kind of like the Z centre skin which is a compromise between the two. :-) Vodka - Oh yes! My car is famous!! lol!
  11. Epic build! love it!! Can I book my second ride yet????
  12. Not the most well thought out welcome we've had on here!!
  13. Yep me too. Should get the gauge done if I can drag myself away from the Grand Prix!! :cool2:
  14. Finally got the sender in!!!!!! What a pain in the arse!! After going to loads of machine shops and getting nowhere. I called on my old friends at speedflow and they said just send us the sender as it could be one of two tread types that one has 26 threads per inch and the other has 27 or something like that. The upshot would be that if you get it wrong it will screw in once but wouldn't be re-usable!! So, I sent it off and she measured it and sent me back two blue anodised adapters - one big and one small. The problem with just using the adapter is that the sensor would sit too high and not be in the coolant. So, it would have to be adapted... I then took these to a local engineering shop who cut down my water pipe, drilled it out, de-annodised the adapter and welded it on...... all because I wanted it to look factory. I then smoothed an polished the hexagonal top round to blent back in. Less is more!! or in this case...less is a right pain in the arse to achieve!! Now just need to get the new wire from the engine bay into the cabin - not sure if I have anymore room!! Oh well, that's what sundays are for! What do you think?
  15. No mate, that what makes me great! This place is just full of people who don't understand the joys of cross dressing and wearing make up (apart from your good self, and pablito, and daffy, and IanL who can still carry of full make up whilst sporting a full beard - genius if you ask me). Anyway i have to dash. I have an appointment with a pot of hot wax followed by a candle lit bath. Ciao
  16. Your looking good there my dear! Why don't you pop over foe a sherry one evening?
  17. You're welcome. I'm just an upstanding lady in the zedding community.
  18. These guys are ok. http://www.griffinbatterycentres.co.uk/exide5-battery.html Andy
