Mines doing the same at the moment
  2. Will a faulty o2 sensor affect overall performance? I've noticed that if the juddering starts to happen I simply hold the revs in say 2nd gear at around 3krpm for about 1-2 minutes and it "warms" up and the issue doesn't occur. I was supposed to be getting my car r/r'd this week but not sure what to do now with a faulty o2 sensor.
  3. 2 for £100? or £100 each? Apparently the one which has gone is the easy one to get to and I don't think it is required to put on a ramp. Is there 4? 2 on the top by the inlet mani and 2 below?
  4. Alridge trimming in Wolverhampton. They have hundreds of classic cars there. Right next to where I work.
  5. Right, it's coming up with 55 which is no malfunction found and when I do a o2 sensor check the left check doesn't flash at all ever. The right o2 sensor check flashes 5 times every 10 seconds which I beleive is normal... So it's looking like my left o2 sensor is shafted. Is it an easy job to do myself? How much are they? I'm still waiting on Nissan Telford to give me a ring back with a price but I rang zedworld and they quoted £100 for the sensors and £20 fitting. Chris
  6. Could it be an o2 sensor? Seems to be ok when the car is warmed up
  7. Do you have a postcode for zworx to see how far they are away? Do you think my problem would show up on conzult? Any idea what the problem may be? Bump
  8. I used to have an omex ecu in one of my old cars with throttle bodies. You can spend thousands on management but at the end of the day it's only as good as the person who maps it. I.e - you could have a monster spec ecu but give it some numpty to map and totally ruins the way the car drives. imo don't go for one unless your going for huge power as legrath has said.
  9. standalone ecu's have been around since jesus christ. Do you have a lot to spend as they are not cheap. Are you planning on doing endless amounts of mods to the zed?
  10. Anyone with conzult in the west mids area that would mind checking out my car? I'm occasionally getting a miss-fire and juddering below 2.5krpm also not boosting properly, as soon as I hit 3krpm its fine and the car accelerates as normal. My air filter fell apart when trying to clean it the other week and i've just purchased an apexi power intake from dta which i'll be fitting today. It's almost as if not enough fuel is being injected at that point. Could it be a faulty maf? If the maf was to be the problem, wouldnt it happen all the time? Dirty injectors? Last night I got a little scared as I heard a kind of knocking sound which appeared to come from my engine...heard it whilst driving inside the cabin. I'm not entirely sure whether it was suspension or an engine noise, this was just going up my road and I got onto the drive and just switched off as I was far too hung over to be sorting anything out yesterday. Any ideas?
  11. If I was to buy brembo calipers off ebay for another car not a skyline, how much would it roughly cost to get some brackets made up and are brackets all I need? They seem to go cheaper on ebay than the £450 mark that everyone seems to want for some gtr brembos.
  12. How much does a std 2+2 weigh and how much does a std 2+0 swb slicktop weigh?
  13. Yea, it's a trust IK but it has a hole in it and i've just ordered an apexi power intake from dta so that will be going on shortly.
  14. Ok i'm guessing this is normal but just want to make sure... Since installing my apexi avcr and upping the boost to around 1bar i've heard the turbos spooling up more. I don't have a dump valve(s). You can actually hear the turbos working where as before you couldn't with std boost. I take it this is normal as they are working harder. Or do I have a boost leak or are my seals going? It's quite a sharp sounding tsssssssssssssssssshttttttttttttt
  15. 22 with 1 years no claims. £1100 fully comp. JDM 300zx TT manual swb slicktop.
  16. Another questions lol.... Does it have to be off a Skyline? Have a look here... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250100922356&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=015
  17. Also is it only really worth going for the front setup if I was to go for it? Would the fronts cater for around 70% of the braking and the rears not do a great deal? Can't afford the full £850 for front and rear which seems to be the current asking price on most of the kits.
  18. I've been contemplating getting the r33/34 gtr brembo caliper setup. I spoke to someone who owns his own tuning/engine building company the other night and he told me not to bother. He said that the 300zx brakes are what the 200sx etc owners upgrade to and are not that bad. 4 pots already. He told me to try going for some better pads, discs and lines with a fluid change. My brakes at the moment feel like crap and i'm going to need to change them relatively soon. Almost feels like I have to stand on the brakes to get them to stop the car, which is one of the reasons i'm not driving my car as I should be at the moment. What are peoples opinions on this? Chris
  19. Anyone with any other ideas? It's quite strange, last night it was doing the hesitant juddering and it started to do it from when I started her up this morning for approx 1 mile then it was fine after that and has been fine all day. Haven't been out in it tonight so not sure whether it's doing it. Would that indicate it's related to the temperature of the engine possibly?
