Possible connector in drivers or passenger footwell having corrosion in the connector or broken wire where it goes through rubber grommet between door and door pillar..... 20 years of flexing when doors opened and closed..... check the connector with multimeter to see if voltage changes on up or down push of button, check voltages to the switch on drivers door..... You can also do a continuity check between the passenger motor and the drivers side switch...... 1) power on car off 2) meter set to buzzer or continuity / resistance setting. 3) one wire to one of the motor wires, other wire to drivers switch wire..... check both wires on motor to both connections to driver side switch. If they are both okay then you know the wires FROM the drivers side switch to the motor are okay. If they are okay then it is the power feeding into the switch that could be at fault. 4) If above has failed, check there is an earth and live going to the driver side switch. Sorry if this makes no sense, I am too used to just doing it and not writing how to do it..... lol

Maybe they have found a new way of fitting them that mechanics have got wrong since the brake pad was invented??........lol It may cause premature brake disc failure and a serious accident though..... lol Hmmmm may get up early (6am'ish) to remove the front bumper and test fit the 99 spec one....before she gets up....Can save giving her any money....I might even make her a tea and bacon sarnie...... lol I need to do the smart car though as it no longer pulls away without the revs being high..... think the actuator needs adjusting as the clutch has worn more....?? Now I just need to find out how..... lol

If I get the time and can do some without the wife catching me......lol Rear lights to be swapped, middle panel removal, front bumper removal and get the car in the air to start on the suspension refurb...... lol I know I will get caught.....lol

YAY!!!!!!............pressie on the way tomorrow........ looks like it will be fitted in the next week or so......... bye bye veilside front bumper!!! Thank you for all your help Si................ Next is removing the veilside boot spoiler and welding up the holes in the boot lid......worried what I will find under the spoiler after 14 years being fitted on there.... lol Then removing rear wiper and washer jet.......... Then it is looking at side skirt removal............ need to come up with some idea's of what to use on the sides.......... ?? Today I washed and polished the wheels..... lol
