  1. Well I’m back….. did you miss me?😂😂 Yes I still have my Z…. Now in it’s 24th year with me… Hope everyone’s well….🫶
  2. Hi all.... I am trying to find out if anyone knows the resistor and potentiometer modification details for a JDM speedo to Uk spec? I read you need to change them, but can’t find anything online about resister and potentiometer values to use?? The only link I found is broken... can anyone help please? thanks Russ
  3. Well I have been given a couple of old tools in battered wooden cases. With all the time on my hands I have decided to strip and clean the tools and their cases. One is a Baty London cylinder gauge set and the other is a M&W fine tools tubular micrometer set. so far I have re glued a few interior pieces of wood In one case that had come away and given the inside a rub down with a scotchbrite pad. I have just given the inside a nice coat of Behandla wood treatment for worktops... should protect and feed the wood.... It gets me out of the house and something to do with my 7 year old other that technology, home schooling or TV..... lol I’m showing him how things work and how to take care of tools..... life lessons!
  4. I have now removed the Clifford Concept 60 alarm, intellistart, smart windows, sense and tell, 2 x external 128db sirens, 1 x internal 128db siren, 1 x pager unit. I have now replaced the 20 year old alarm system and completely re-wired under the dash and bonnet. Fitted even cleaner than the old one and harder to get to or even spot. I have also replaced the drivers door actuator, fitted the chrome interior door pull handles with LED lighting and wired up, lubricated the window mechanism. The passenger door is getting the same makeover with a new lock and solenoid to replace the weak one that occasionally doesn’t lock on the remote. Just had to find a replacement passenger door as the one on the car has rusted through along the bottom edge. I’m gutted...
  5. Owners manual for what looks like your alarm system.... Hope it helps... https://www.manualslib.com/manual/980837/Laserline-290i2.html#manual

  7. You will be missed Mike.... I used to enjoy popping over for a chat and to see how full your lounge was with Z parts... It doesn't seem like 19 years ago I first met him, when I bought my Z..... That was when he was in his old house with a very large outbuilding full of parts to rummage through.... As everyone that knows him has already said, He was a true Gent, helpful, patient and always welcoming! R.I.P. Mike....
  8. Good brands are JBL, Infinity Kappa, Alpine and Kenwood.... I would stay away from cheaper brands.... My personal choice is for JBL and infinity.... but then i have always been picky for a certain sound.... lol http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/speakers/full-range/jbl-stage-602e-6-5-16-5cm-135-watts-2-way-coaxial-car-speakers These are on special at the minute.... JVC are a well known and long standing brand, so they should be good as well.... The headhunt output is Maximum Power Output - 50W x 4 / 50W x 2 +Subwoofer (4 ohms) 50W x 1 Full Bandwidth Power (at less than 1%THD) - 22W x 4 so pretty much a speaker that will not be under or over driven is where you want to be.... Russ
  9. You don't hang around Nick..... lovely work..... can't wait to get mine back on the road now.....
  10. Like these??? PM me your address and I will post out to you Gio....
  11. Let me take a peek in my box of old car audio fitting tools..... I'm sure I have nearly every type from back when it was my living.... lol
  12. Do you have a GB sticker and headlight converters Si? Hope you have a great time..... I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures...
  13. :scared::scared::scared::lol:
  14. It's a getting old thing Jeff...... I often find i am turning into my dad and losing touch with how anything works.... lol
  15. A lot of the time I come here for advice and for parts info, banter and to keep in touch with what everyone is doing. I do like going to local meets and would like to go to national events, but I always end up breaking down with one thing or another........ lol I would like to see youtube videos or Jeff's write ups on how to repair things on our Z's...... like an archive listed under sections that link you to either new or existing write up or acknowledged and correctly written 'How to' guide..... having its own heading in the forum for easy searching, but linking to youtube hosted content? I have been printing and filing how to guides for years as hard copies and have boxes of info relating to things I have done or parts fitted to my Z. Mainly for fear of losing the link or information over the years! Cruises here in Essex are now a thing of the past and they were taken over by people who seemed to just be out for annoying the police and trying to be antisocial......... I used to like fun driving, parking up and talking to like minded car enthusiasts...... not trying to do over 100mph in a 30...... or donuts in asda carpark within feet of a big crowd..... Dry Street cruise used to do donut competitions in the middle of a banger racing track and run safely...... Sound off competitions with really good installers alongside amateurs learning from the pro's..... When properly organised events were forced into carparks and the police shut them down with the media slamming cruising, it killed the modifiers and the entire scene was deemed "Hooligan Boy Racers"...."A danger to society"... The supped up Cosworths, RS Turbo's, Astra's, Golf GTI's are now Classic cars..... Modified is now what factory optional extra's does it come with? The younger generation buy off the peg and don't fabricate, modify and personalise cars as they used to do..... they can't as they will get pulled over or can't afford the high insurance costs..... Instead we go to Classic car shows...... catch up with fellow owners / enthusiasts and enjoy the ride there and back instead!! The brand and Marque is shrinking daily as more Z's are broken, crashed and rotting away........ Fewer and fewer new parts are available! I believe the only way to survive is for a Nissan Forum that has sections within it for all Z's, all models of Nissans, skylines, Kashqui, Micra's, GTR's, EVERYTHING!...... Older Classic owners along side the newer off the peg owners in one space! Buy in to a central Nissan owners membership and then buy a bolt on membership to your Models section of the forum..... if you want access to tech section, parts and discounts...... Hook in a forum discount to online retailers that still sell OE parts, modified parts, bodywork, service parts, Audio, Alarms, Garage services, Insurance, etc..... that will still develop and supply what is required to keep our cars and forum going. A youtube update from car shows we attend to show the rest of us what we missed and update us on what members have done to their cars with interviews and information..... maybe getting more members to attend the next years event? I don't want to lose our forum or the people I have met on here that also love their Z....... But it needs those people to voice........ 1) what will keep them coming back here? 2) what they like?, what they don't like about the forum? 3) What are they looking for when they pop in to the forum? Sorry, but read through what you have all put and wanted to throw a few idea's and thoughts out there!!! Russ
  16. Am I on the list Paul........ Please....... I could show mine as before a respray....... lol
  17. Today she is getting an oil and filter change, fresh coolant, new oil pressure sensor, bottom end clean up and replacing a few bolts from the transmission to the block....
  18. I voted under protest as I believe they are all lying, cheating, two faced, back stabbing, self serving, pocket lining......... in short....... Politicians!!! If there was someone I actually believed wasn't all of the above it would have helped........ The only certainty is that 'Politicians Lie', 'Answer questions with spin and avoidance', 'serve themselves'.........
  19. Hi everyone, Am i wrong in feeling that the 'May' approach has been to collude with the EU to offer what we won't accept, annoy and frustrate everyone so much that we say, "oh just forget it we will stay!"...???? It feels like certain people dealing with Brexit are just trying to get the people who voted to leave so angry, disillusioned and confused that they will change their mind or just give up the idea of leaving as unachievable...... I personally want a second vote........ 'ON the general election!'..... where it appears all parties lied..... If we are going for the idea that if we don't like a result, call for another vote until we get what we want?? Politicians and parties are in a complete mess, NOBODY believes a word they say on either stay or leave sides...... Something needs to change to regain our belief in democracy, politicians and their parties!!!
