  1. Stu - did you try giving the engine a turn over without starting? There was some discussion a few weeks ago about the valves being in an open position so no pressure can build up. Pete
  2. Cheer Tony :D Rich - get yourself on the group buy mate ;)
  3. Evening :) I've been offered a good discount of a pair of Goodyear "GSD" tyres but am looking for some info re suitability for the 300ZX on them, no matches found while searching. 255/40/17ZR rears quoted at £64 + VAT each inc fitting and balancing. Seems a bargain if they're any good  Any info on these would be appreciated :D Thanks in advance Pete :)

Yeah its doable, but more expensive than selling your N/A and buying a TT. People have converted convertable (!) 300ZXs to TT as they only come in N/A form (Topless I think is doing this ???)

Nah buy a TT and keep the N/A as your daily driver :D
  6. You gonna change your avatar now LOL? :D:D
  7. Nice one John, we'll see what you're boosting on Sunday ;) Give the engine bay a good clean or Berks will give you a bollocking :D - I did mine yesterday  What effect does the Cusco diff have? Pete
  8. Yeah chuck your passengers out for quick acceleration lol. Is mass ugly?
  9. I just fitted some R33 GTR 17s yesterday and I love 'em! Previously had 16" split rims.
  10. I just didn't realise the effect would be *that* noticeable except at home..err..sorry on a drag strip, same thing :D I suppose upping the boost increases the effect of hotter air reducing performance. Pete
  11. LOL Cheers, that was what I'd hoped, will still check for any leaks though :) Funny you should say that James - but its amazing how little effect a lot of weight has on the 300ZX. Any other car I've driven really struggles with 2 or 3 passengers. Anyone ever towed using a zed lol?
  12. Don't listen to James - he's got a thing about Cyclopses... :D:D
  13. Looking good  £100 will get you one or two shiny engine bits, check out the traders section
  14. Took the zed out for a blast with a colleague at lunch and it didn't feel up to its usual.... scariness. Didn't have the Autometer boost gauge plumbed in, and I know it was boosting over stock but it definately wasn't giving me what it should do  V noticeable booting it at low speeds, seemed to take lots longer for the boost level to rise. I've got a boost leak detector but haven't used it yet, I thought it could be a leak, or simply the hot weather - 26oC on the aircon gauge. Cheers Pete
  15.  Do they come with tyres at the Zed Centre though...
  16. Make sure you put out your cigs then ;) Not.
  17. Off ;) Neutral gear too so you can turn the hub (I think, waiting for confirmation....), just do it on level ground with chocks lol!
  18. Take your back wheels off, normal jacking precautions etc ;) and there should be a small rubber gromit thing (without a hole) in the centre of the disc/hub. Remove that with a screwdriver. Turn the hub (using a socket bar or something between the bolts) and you'll see some teeth of a cog through the hole. This is the adjuster, spin it using the screwdriver until it stops (cant remember which way but it'll become obvious) then back a touch. Do this both sides ;) I'm sure there'll be a write-up on AndyP's site... Cheers Pete
  19. Morning...or is it afternoon? Whatever...;) Driving north into Hinkley last night I saw a white van (transit/boxer type) facing away from the traffic flow on my side, it was completely unmarked. The rear of the van had a gap at the top 8-10 inches high, spanning the whole width of the van across it with 2 or 3 CCTV style camera facing the traffic flow. The gap had a flap which was open to let the "cameras see out... The traffic was v heavy so the cars were only crawling, and there were a couple of traffic police cars a couple of miles further up  which seemed to be observing traffic. Whats going on?? Does anyone know what the van was doing? Pete
  20. I saw a white one yesterday too, with huuuge new shiny alloys  sweet! Reg KIA..something :D Not in Lancs tho ;)
  21. PMSL!! :D:D:D General "Nobgoblin" Discussion :D:D
  22. ...so you can cut people up? ;) Shift At Will is that?
  23. Similar to fitting a new autobox I think, I've seen around £1.5k quoted before. Search on "conversion" or the like ;)
  24. Was Steve the vicar/registrar? :D
