  1. Also it is one screw / 12mm bolt to get it out. Mine came out with just the car jacked up and I didn't have to move the exhaust at all. I did go and buy axle stands after I got the thing out.......fear of a car this low to the ground falling on top of me got the better of me!!
  2. I have one off bigmincey...see this old thread about them. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=93596 some different sensor's pics are here:- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=33413 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=33415 The actual speed sensor's position on the car is here:- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=27087 I still have BigMincey's - it owes me £30 I think. If his is the kind you need let me know. I had eventually to get mine out a scrap yard - cost £55
  3. eeemmmm......sounds standard to me? Nothing blows till you hit the Auto button? Or are you talking about only pressing the windscreen button?
  4. Mine is a straight on or off........at the begining mine wasnt playing ball either....messed about with the switch at the light itself and it was cured..... door open - lights on door closed - lights off (no delays - just *bang* the door is shut and the light is gone) Sounds like either the switch, the sensor the the doors/boot is shut or a short.
  5. WWwwwwoooooo HHHHooooooo!! Finally I can add pics of my car!! I dont remember reading any threads on this one being fixed....but I assume I just missed it.
  6. I'd be speaking to the seller to confirm that your warranty will freeze from the date the car entered the garage and will recommence on the date of completion of work. As the seller has agreed the garage for repair they have basically became an authorised repair center as far as the seller is concerned. If this is acceptable, I would also request that the garage that is doing the repairs to date the work and forward a progress report to both yourself and the seller. Key days would be - Arrival Date of Job, Ordering Date for Parts/Engine, Arrival Date of Parts/Engine, Completion Date of Work. I would of course call the seller first to confirm this and ask that they confirm it back in writing to you.......I assume that you do not have a written warranty as such and it is a 6 months from date of invoice. It would really depend on the terms of the warranty that you have though.....you could ask that the warranty period be frozen as you are not claiming reimbursment of hire charges etc. Just my thoughts and of course based in no legal knowledge what-so-ever.........
  7. I had the BluTak on my car for about 7 months...... Benefits........(as opposed to my first idea of just no-nailing the things in) It isn't a permanent adhesive, It moulds into any shape and stops water penetrating through it. If you get it in the wrong place you can move it or add some more. Once the roof seals it can't be seen as it is squeezed in between the joints. Downside...... It isn't as pretty when you take the roof off....some of the blutak will be attached to the cars rubber. - I wonder if there is a blactak?? Don't know if it does any long term damage. Like I said it was either that or no-nails or even better silly coning the whole outside with a nice 4mm beading!!
  8. The other method is Vasaline......due to the petrol in the jelly, it expands the rubber.... .... .... another tip from bigmincey.
  9. Mine used to leak.....right in at the corner of the door/pillar/roof..... .... .... Packed it out with BluTack in slim strips..........stopped the water coming in and still let the roof come off and on.
  10. just noticed the attachment Lazy Lazy man......couldn't be bothered leaving the house to take the photo!!
  11. I thought so.....you should post a wee pic up here.... .. .... They look good.......
  12. BluTack is the answer!!
  13. I was almost certain bigmincey has replaced the brake with clear......with a small red reflector left in the middle. Could be wrong though
  14. It helps if you have a child, or someone with dainty hands......but saying that, after me an a friend spent 30 mins changing bulbs you learn and now it isn't a problem at all. I now can't figure out why I had soo much bother in the first place. Having the Japanese H3C bulbs in my import has definatly made the job 100 times easier than the stupid UK H3 bulbs....always found that daft wire kept getting caught in the way of the clip that holds the buld down....
  15. Hi Alan, Can you email me the forms? cau96176@talktalk.net Only thing that is bothering me is the "You must stay till 4:30pm" bit. Cheers, Michael.
  16. Just to add I recently got done for driving without tax........£30 fine......No points
  17. The was a method described of laying plastic over the back seat.......spraying layers of expanding foam (no more big gaps etc..) till it fills the space. Once sprayed and almost set, fold plastic over the "cushion" and sit the seat into it to make an impression. Remove seat, leave to set, then remove excess with knife. You can then cover the "cushion" with fabric or leather.
  18. I sounds like it will be the same deal as with importing cars to the UK on a Z-plate ..... The car has to go to an official DVLA tesing station to ensure it meets the UK regulations, they then allow you to register it as a UK car. I can only imagine this will be part of their new tests? Just a though mind you.
  19. Do not unplug the little black chime box as this also removes the lights left on warning. Instead stick to removing the bullet connector with the green wire. My question is how do you remove the "I think I'm reversing an artic lorry" beep?
  20. got it fixed then Alan.............?
  21. electronic........speed sensor in gearbox is attached by wires, no cables. Sounds like the actual clocks/dials or the cable into the back of them isn't working properly.
  22. I like it.............it almost looks like a real life version of something out of the "Cars" movie!
  23. Yeah I thought £300 would be nearer the nissan mark....I finally went to the local breakers......£60 it cost. I can se why you went for the Koyo. Did you get a seperate oil cooler? Does anyone have any ideas where to get them from and how much?
  24. The park is near Hamilton (half way between Hamilton and Larkhall)
  25. I didn't see you but you work in xs-motorsport, named shaun and were speaking to Pender in Motherwell
