Fooking priceless...............

I have always been a believer, get my own back. example. A good friend of mine, got hold of an old car of mine, and as he is a practical joker like me. Thought it would be a giggle to fill the air vents with the remains of a session with a 4 hole hole punch, turn the fan to max and aim all the vents towards me the driver. When i turned the key all the 1000's of bits of paper hit me, was cleaning it for ages. So i as a fisherman, after a trip, got a dogfish, and strapped it to the manifold with wire, just under the blower for the fan. it wasnt visible if you looked into the engine bay, or underneath. Each time he drove the car it got cooked, and then cooled down. but within a couple of weeks, it was very apparent that i had won. the stink was unbearable. Resulting in him shampooing the interior a number times, searching all over the car, never to locate the pong before he jacked it up. What else have folks done to get their revenge.................???? :2guns:

Stu, cant agree more, i to was at Max's today to get exhausts, unfortunaley got there just 10 mins after you left. Martin is a real nice guy, and the stuff the zed is going to be fitted with is amazing. It will be a total monster.......... One to definately watch out for. As the offer stands mate, if you need a hand to install or get bits together just let me know, only 45 mins to get there, and 35 mins to get home. Gaz, when my zed has been on the dyno at Surrey, it ws done in 3rd and 4th. Dont know if it makes a difference, all i know is when they do it, i turn away and just listen. As its scares the **** out of me, thinking is it going to bang..................

Does sound more like heater matrix hoses, is it loosing water?? what is temp like out of blowers with fan on full? any drips on the footwells? Way to test. Run car until engine gets to normal temp. With it running, get under the bonnet, with a torch, and investigate around the bulkhead/ back of engine. even if a slight pin hole, will show as steam, but nearly evaporate instantly, due to engine heat. Also when at normal heat check top rad hose should be solid, and heat going to cabin. If any signs of other than constant warmth, will show air in system. if top hose is easy to squash, then it could be problem more than likely matrix hoses. Process of illimnation sorry mate.

Nothing wrong with getting down and dirty Barry!!! I havent got the facilities but am willing to help. Plus Silverbullit isnt far from you, and we both enjoy getting dirty on a zed. Be honest mate, most of the water and vac lines are in the engine bay, beside and under the plenium, the matrix hoses are between engine and bulkhead, either way with box out dosent make much difference With box out, you may be able to do the tub lines, and oil feeds, and at a push the matrix. buts its all dam tight.

well done on doing the conversion yourself mate, its good when you tackle bigger work on our own zeds. makes you feel proud, you tried it and it all worked Manual zeds all the way.........:clap:

sorry but it might be too late for max's zorsts, as im due to collect as they are off the car.

A quick tempory fix, is pull the belt fully out, then spray some silicone spray similar to wd40, but must be with ptfe, on the underside of the belt, and also the upper holder. This will make it retract a bit faster, if not remove the lower part of the panel, and clean and lubricate the mechanism, this will require rear seat removal and other bits.

Clean the connectors on both the MAF, and the harness. Also the element inside the maf(looks like a thin bit of wire) may be damp or dirty. Clean spade connectors with small file so they are back to copper, then spray with contact cleaner like ambersol. Clean maf element with contact cleaner or some carb / injector cleaner. Might be worth doing an ecu check to see if it throws up any faults.

I bought a new exedy clutch kit, comes with plate, cover and new bearing. My zed is running 14psi and a few other bits, handles the power no worries. Good bit of kit. I know of others on here that also bought it. Well worth the money.

Zed is driven every evening after work, and loads at the weekend. IF im not on here, im doing stuff on the zeds. Or finding ways to improve things.

Ptu as Groover states, also sounds like your( TPS )throttle position sensor is duff. Check out the connections to the MAF (under nose cone) These engines are prone to react badly to the green corrosion on connectors. Worth checking all that you can and clean em up.

Next one was parked up top of Wick Street Littlehampton. 3.30pm An immaculate white shortie with black wheels. G120*AL. One of the tidest and clean zeds ive ever seen. Stunning. Who are you, i know most of the local zeds, but not you guys.
