Help! Bloody windscreen's cracked
I had one fitted last year and the bugger frooze a week later so i scraped it with ice scraper which put some massive scratches right across drivers view. So I then needed another one. 2 in a week - I was rather fed up. Autoglass fitted both but could not get a jap windscreen so after waiting about 9 months for each one went for a green tint instead of bronze. They cost about £1000 each i was told. All are same size but different colours. All this doesn't seem to have put premium up but can't really tell as added some mods aswell. You still have to tell the insurance though.

Squeaky Wipers!
put a brick through the windscreen - that will sort it. the glass actually wears out as well!

Air induction or exhaust first???
a performance exhaust also has the benefit of looking good from outside, especially when they are chrome, 4 or 5" drain pipes.

HELP Floods killed my Z
o dear. i think that might be the problem. is that the only one thats bent. that looks just like mine was. check the oil sprayers underneath the bores as mine was hit by the bent conrod. you could try a secondhand engine, probably cheaper.

vin number
Just been looking at documents for me car and noticed the immobiliser paper work has had the model number of the car put down instead of the chassis numbr. What is the difference between the 2, any ideas, both look similar on a jap car.

Brake Master Cylinder - Urgent.
Don't buy parts which are sided from courtesy unless your car is left hand drive as they can't get them. I ordered a master cylinder without knowing, first the wrong one then the opposite side. They didn't tell me until the 2nd order, but did refund all postage.

I'd sooo love a Z but...
Hi Ben. I think you have already made up your mind you want one so go and get one, you won't regret it. 1) Drive the long way home, you'll love the exprerience. 2) You can learn, there is lots of help on here when needed and also from US sites etc. Other than that all cars need to be fixed at some point. You have a bike don't you to get to work on if need be? 3) Yes insurance is high so try going for a uk car and not modding it (very hard not to). 4) Just look around and wait for the right one, it's worth it. But most of all you only live once, so enjoy it. Once you get one it will turn into your way of life. It's more than a car. You look at the people on here.:)

New Z No Boost
I have recently had the same problem. DO NOT FIT A RESISTOR. You will never sense detonation. Instead relocate it: http://www.angelfire.com/geek/vg30dett/DSR/DetSenRel01.html http://www.angelfire.com/geek/vg30dett/DSR/DetSenRel01.html Found someone in US that can get one and harness for $55 including postage to England. HTH.

-
error 34
Just done a ecu test and it came up with 34 - detonation sensor wire. If I don't get this fixed will the car still run ok. Do you think this will cut the car out at high boost + WOT?

Fitting Poly bushes...
The rear subframe bushes are a right pain as you have to take the whole thing right off and be ready for a lot of banging with a hammer if you don't have a press. You don't need any special tools though just brut force. I did them all one weekend so don't really take too long. You should probably fit differential ones if fitting the subframe ones but make sure you trim a bit off the passengers side, as the diff doesn't go right back if not. I did have a bit of wheel hop to the sides and wandering (and leaking) so I changed these and the shocks, but still made no difference. I will try getting the camber, caster etc angles checked next.:(

no reversing lights
I don't seem to have any reversing lights anymore. If it is the switch and not wiring anyone know if this is easy to replace? I presume it is somewhere on the gearbox.
