  1. Judo.. Who knows If I hadnt given it up at 8 years old it could have been.
  2. Not my cup of tea, but certainly abmire the effort that has been put in. Very professional looking. Have you thought about getting z badge made up that matches the size of the light units themselves.
  3. Sorry for the slight change of subject but thought this was funny at the time. I used to work at NEC Semiconductors in a wafer fab and was working with one of the Jap engineers one day and noticed he had a set of chop sticks in his tool box. Did think it was a bit of a mancky place to keep your lunch utencils. Anyway all became clear this day when he droped a screw inside one of the machines, and as is the way with our cars it landed in a place you were never going to reach it with your fingers. So without any fuss he just picked up his chop sticks reached in and pulled it out. Obviously nissan engineers were handy with there chop stickes when they laid out the Z's engin bay.
  4. I only ever listen to rock radio ( or real xs as its now called ) so at least when somthing sticks for the day its somethng descent. As for the kiddie music, been off this week so have been subjected to in the night garden and other bizar stuff only a five month old could make sence off. luckily my wee one Caitlin who is 5 months old today has been listening to rock radio since before she was born and is quite fond of acdc as apposed to balamory. We have had the same bed time routine since she was born. Just me, her, her bottle and the music until she falls asleep. i've tried it without the music, she doesn't settle. So hopfully as she gets older it will be rock she listens to and not five minute wonder pop drivel, so even then I wont have crap in my head all day. Pays to have a long term plan.
  5. 36 and 38 years old.
  6. Frankly Boyle has his moments, still really like lee evens and Eddie izzard........but for a proper laugh I dig out the old bill hicks stuff!!!!
  7. Had a fuel leak on my Volvo a couple of years ago, apparently one of the injectors broke loose from the block spraying deasel around the engine. Was driving it at the time, burned through brake lines etc. Really quite scary. Car was a total right off.
  8. I've not slipped a disk as such, like taz I have what they describe as multi level disk degradation. I have effectively worn out the l3 l4 and l5 disks to the point they no longer do there job properly. I was diagnosed with this 8 year's ago when I was 30 but have had back problems since being a teenager. I have pain every day of my life and for a long time got very depressed, had to have that medicated as well. Eventually managed to accept things as they are, particularly after watching some family members my own age fight cancer, you realise you don't have it that bad. Anyway, for me I see a chiropractor once a month who helps keep me moving( he was recommended by the surgeon who told me they couldn't operate on my back). I take 30/500 mg co codamol tablets, 8 a day. If you use these don't worry so much about the codeine its taking to much paracetamol which will kill you. A recent study showed even short term overdosing, ie an extra tablet or two w day for a few weeks can lead to long term problems. If it gets really bad I also have tramadol, which is really good but I can't function when I take it. For me its just about trying to get on and do the things you enjoy, unfortunately I had to stop playing badminton and doing aikido but I can still get out and swing a golf club when its not too bad. Hope this rambling post helps. Martin.
  9. I can't possibly do that Mr fibble........who'd clear up the mess.
  10. Back in 97-98 I worked in a semi-conductor plant where the shift engineers were on pretty big money and had some serious toys in the car park. Me as a new graduate engineer who wasn't on big money could only look out the window and think one day I'll have something nice rather than my Seat Toleado. Anyway one day was looking out the window and there sitting in the car park was a bright red zx, I had no clue what it was, I just new in that car park full of m5's m3's EVO's scubies and porkers that that one was the one for me. After 10 years of constantly finding more responsible and grown up things to spend my money on I saw a red swb tt on here for sale just round the corner from where I had seen that original one, figured you couldn't pass an omen like that by so went had a look, but knew as long as it wasn't crap it was coming home with me, and it did. Not looked back since, however our first baby arrived on the 11th of December and I'm not sure yet whether the old girl is going to get to stay.
  11. Our first is due on the 1st of December. Don't know if anyone else has gone through it, but we had to go in for them to try and turn it around. What a horrer show that was for a new dad who did't know what to expect. Wife ended up getting kept in over night as when they did the ultrasound afterward they discoverd the cord was now sitting between the head and the birth canal. If she had gone into labour it would have been a real emergency. Anyway all good now, but really bricking it at the time. How many of the first timers actually feel organised.
  12. Had one on the volvo a few years back, and currently got a second hand e bay job on the Z. Good piece of kit and easy to use. Pretty simple to fit as well if you don't want to pay for the garage to do it.
  13. Did ki aikido for quite a few years. They concentrate on the unification of mind and body. Think Steven segal before he became a fat old waster. Def good relaxation yet physical. Like all martial arts though, its critical to get a good instructor.
  14. Footman James £208 classic car policy. 3000 mile limit. Flat rate policy so no no claims build up, and you can't drive other cars third party. But at £550 cheaper than the best standard policy it was a no brainer for me.
  15. Think mine is all original as well. I don't have any knocking, just the alignment of the steering wheel and the pull to the left.
  16. Hi sandy, ye got the 265's on the back . I am useless but not quite that bad :-) They seemed to centre ok when I put them on so not sure about the spigot rings, I'll get it jacked up again through the week and check them again.
  17. Thanks guys, breaking seems fine. What should I be checking on the arms.
  18. Morning everyone, I changed the 16's my swb came with for the 18's I got from Del. Problem is I now have the steering pulling to the left and the steering wheel is no longer aligned when heading straight. Do I just need to take it in to get the alignment done or have I somehow screwed something up. Cheers Martin.
  19. Did these Myself, also got the OEM red stitched gear handle. Del didn't see when I was over, has your car got the arm rests on the door. I got a set from the states already leathered and coloured stitching, matched the other bits a treat. Simple drill and fix to the existing door card, worked really well.
  20. Never a trewer word spoken. Don't get me wrong I hope he rots in hell for all the lives he had a hand in destroying. But the reveling in the murder of another makes us no better than them. We are all better than that. I hope.
  21. 24 posts without an actual answer to the question. Whats the record so far. I'm going to lower the tone by trying an answer.......can you not just drop the voltage across a resistor in the +ve line. Does the rating plate of whatever sex aid you installing give a power rating or current then you sould be able to size a resistor to give you 6V. Sorry for being sensible, i'm tired!!!!!
  22. The matrix one gets my vote.
