  1. Hi, my Z seems to have lost its edge, the boost guage runs to 12psi, but I did chcnage it from the jap one to PSI when I did the clocks so it might not be that acurate. But anyway, everything esle is good, mid range etc seem fine, but I think it used to read 14psi before. It doesnt seem to have that "snarl" when I give it some. i dont drive that fast very often. I know its a bit vague but any thoughts? Or things I could check, what level is "safety boost" not that I think its that, never hear detonation etc. The rest of the car is very good. Help..
  2. If its the tyres and who knows from here, they might be falling apart, hence the recent increase in vibes. A bearing is not going to get much worse over a long time. I had a trye go on me and it fell to bits very quickly, and I thought that was a bearing until it shook the car to bits. Also if it that bad you should see some hint on the side wall, in or outside.
  3. All zeds (TT) go sieways in the wet, but youhave to learn how to drive with a bit more sensetivity, the throttle works two ways. Well mine does. It is never the road, or the car that causes a crash, its always the driver.
  4. You will get a lot of opinion from wiser heads than mine on this, but first of all, when sitting in traffic, ie no boost, there is no boost. Turbos boost when they are spinning fast enough and they have an appropriate amount of throtle open. If you keep your foot mostly off th epedal you will get only a little boost. So being able to turn it down in traffic is not needed. AS for a turbo timer. Do you know what they do? Basically they keep the engine running after you leave the car (perhaps) to cool the turbos. As for the rest of your thread, I dont know. Sorry.
  5. Further to my last I just mean to see if the noise changes etc. Not for good.
  6. If you have standard wheels could you try the fronts on the back?
  7. From what you say thats sounds like all thats left. Does it change with power on/off? If it does thats diff to my old ears. If it doesnt it can be the bearings in the diff. IMHO
  8. Not Surrey but Bucks, 01296 841145, ask for Ken. Been at it 24 years.
  9. Some good sense here, and like I said some OLD WIVES TALES. Thanks for answering my question though.
  10. Does anyone KNOW what the best route is here? There is always such a lot of old wives tales with a topic like this. I have always thought that £300.00 was way too much for de-cat pipes, and gutting them, even if it does cause "turbulance" this is not always a bad thing, in fact it can be a very good thing, in the right place/time etc. So, does anyone really know?
  11. Uniiroyal Rainsports, look here for tests on most tyres,. If the tests are correctt he Rainsports are better than most, inc Toyo. http://www.mytyres.net/start.html

Why does removing the cats cause the turbos to wear more quickly? Anyone got a technical answer, I am not looking for old wives tales.
  14. Something you all seem to have missed, if the mileage is so low how does it have so many chips?
  15. Hi, my friend has a TT Supra, with the same size tyres as my Z, 225/45.17 and 255/40.17, his hand book says 36psi, this is going on from an earlier post on tyres. Thats it.
  16. Jap Spec, tt, UK clocks, read 70 when doing 69.
  17. How much does it cost?
  18. I bought a Z from Japan, and it is lovely. A very nice car, but I have bought other stuff and one did go wrong, and 4 months later I am still fighting for a refund. In Japan they think they are safe from a punch on the nose, and they are right.
  19. they look great on Mac 1's car but do they give off enough light???? Please.
  20. Wishful thinking and lack of experience = Fool. You should know what you are doing before trying this sort of thing. I hope your lucky, but Japan is a long way off it it goes pear shaped. I know. No disrespect intended.
  21. If its a bolt hit it like you would a nail, this can shock the threads and loosen them. Dont be shy, give it a few good ones.
  22. That what I thought, I did think, prior to hiitting the limiter, that mine must have been de-limited, but alas no. Funny how it seems to 125mph though. One good thing, if you have a race you can always blame the limiter if you loose.
  23. My clocks are to quote " the most accurate I have ever tested". This from the SVA man, he ran it up on his rolling road, which he says is "Accurate, period". My clocks were one mph over at 70, so he tried it higher and they stayed at one over. ie it read 70 when it was doing 69.
  24. I did try 33/36. too hard. so seem to be at 30. Must admit I have not spent a great deal of effort at trying other presures yet.
  25. J spec, uk clocks, 125mph max, no ping just misfires like a F1 car
