Heeelp Me!
I am a novice when it comes to ZX, but manual or auto, in extream the manual is faster, most of the time the auto is as good, then its down to your choice. Smoking engine, take great care. Some peeps on here have lots of problems, others seem to have almost none. I feel that there are good and bad as in all things. As for boot space, look at a twin turbo Supra, makes the ZX look like and estate. Well almost. As for price's, it allways surprises me at the difference. I have a 93 import auto tt, which can only be described as very nice, I suppose its worth about £6500. But G is getting old. Just my opinion.

new part's for auto transmission
I understand, and wil ask him today. I would trust him above anyone else in any regard to do with autos. As for them being tempermental, this may be correct, but it is far more likely to be bad workmanship by the "rebuilder". Auto transmission technology is hardly new. But I will stress this point to him ans we can hope.

new part's for auto transmission
I know someone, he has been doing autos for years. While I am talking to him for you I will also ask him about rebuilds etc. He might do a good price if he can expect repeat business. What do you all think? Give me some idea how many are/might be interested to tempt him...

high water pressure i think ?
Ah Yes But/ The cap only needs to release preasure if it gets too high. This is not a thing that happens during normal running. So even if the washer caused the cap to have too high a blow of point, if the engine is all OK then this will not be a problem.

No Front number Plate
It will upset Ken too. And at £30.00 it is cheaper than the fine and I bet you get away with it for ages. Whan was the last ime anyone checked to see if their numberplate was still there?
-
No Front number Plate
And actually mine has just fallen off! Honest.

No Front number Plate
Hey b19rks, is this FACT? As in you seem to know what you are saying. Thanks. And to Mark Stevens, you sure have a GREAT NAME, lets hope we meet one day.

No Front number Plate
Hi, I have noticed some people running with no front number plate, especially Supras with big intercoolers. I am thinking of doing the same, with speed cameras NOT on my mind. Anyone have any idea as to the fine/points situation. I think its just a producer and take the car to the MOT station to prove its back on.

Lost bhp found in battery!
Some cars, the bigger horse power Saabs especially, wont run more than a touch of throttle with a flat battery as the ECU needs more to work.

high water pressure i think ?
Water presure in the rad/cooling system is a result of the water being hot, no other reason unless something is wrong, ie combustive gasses from the cylinders getting into the water. If you had a head gasket leak or cracked head this would send your temp up in 99% of cases. I have known cars with a head gasket problem run OK, but a sniffer test, where the fumes from the rad are tested, has shown there to be a leak. But too much presure would empty the water pass your rad cap, assuming its working OK, before it blew the rad, I feel. Try squeezing the hoses when its at running temp, this might give you a clue. When a rad is re cored, they only put your tanks back onto the new core. Where did it blow, if it was the core itself I reakon it was faulty. The amount of preasure rrrrequired to blow a good rad and/or a good hose is very high.....All of this IMHO

Boost leak?
yes, easily.

oil pressure gauge
To be honest I dont know where it is, but could you have knocked the wire off the sender when doing the oil?

Big end bearings
While your at it try and do the mains as well. It is harder to do, because you have to "Push" the upper shells out of the way before working in the new ones. And you cant do them all (in all probability, for example rear main). But, if your big ends are worn your mains might be too. I have done it, not on a ZX, and even though a couple were missed it was OK. And as a minimum you need to look at them.

Big end bearings
You may well be right, it just is not the way I have found things. The ony thing I will say is that everything seems to wear before its time on 3000gt's. Lol.
-
Big end bearings
IMHO the bearings wear a lot sooner than the crank, so you could well get away with just shells. I have done it many times, on other cars, with no probs. Many years ago the cranks used to wear but everything is so much more long lasting now. I would go for it.

falken tyres
I fitted them to a T5 Volvo, I thought they were fine. and has been said, what tyre cant you light up in the wet? Or even slightly damp?
-
Rip off Garages & Speedos
Everything sold has to be "fit for the purpose" etc. a speedo this bad is not fit for the purpose. Period. And if they ask why, how do you know what speed you are doing? If you get done for speeding are they responsible? It is not tested on the MOT.

Help!!
If its a big end and loud I dont think it would care what the temp is. Is it Auto? I say this because drive flex plates can break, and sometimes be on and off for a while. And Cats can make noises too when they break up. Could be anything, more info needed..

Dipped beam quite good
In my case when I say not very deep I mean when adjusted correctly, there is a space between the car and the biginning of the main light on the road which is a result I feel of the design of the light, ie it leaning back quite a lot. But I am sure that if I upgrade the bulbs slightly my head lights (on dip) will be more than good enough, as for main bean, yes no probs there either. makes me wonder whats wrong with nearly everyone else's, and I know its not me just "thinking" they are ok.

Dipped beam quite good
Hi, after the long thread re sandwich wrapped headliights I drove mine last night and the dipped beam, whilest not very deep is OK, in fact it is on a par with my Xantia diesel runabout, which has good headlights. Mine is a '93 series 2, maybe they improved them? Anyway thats it really, just thought I would say.

Warning About Jap Exporter
It is the risk you take but Japan is a long way off. I have had no problems before with other importers so felt safe(ish). To sue them would be uneconomic. so they probably feel safe. Afterall if you sue someone here what actually does it mean? The court can find in your favour and they still dont pay. So taking it back is not an option when they are thousands of miles away, you can demand all you like but so what? And I dont know what the Jap law says, and even if it was in your favour who is going to help? And who will interpret for you? You cant get a burgular nicked in this counrty even if you catch him in your house so what hope in Japan? I have to be realistic, tell everyone how they do business and help others avoid the mistake I made.
