  1. I was just reading the Z1 site about their long blocks and they say that having a dented sump can cause oil starvation as there is only a small gap between the bottom of the sump and the oil pickup, especially bad if there is a dent in that area. My engine seems fine and pulled good figures on the dyno. Should I be changing the sump? Where abouts is the oil pickup?
  2. Just remember to use proper braided water hose when bypassing the plenium
  3. That top pipe is screwed on, the ducting I was on about is the big 90 degree bend that goes from the heater box to the passanger main ducting pipe.
  4. Had an hour break and went back down to the car with a new attitude and a rubber malet! It hurt but I got the temp sensor poped in and the ducting in! Had to unbolt the passenger side of the dash and the crash bar, then pull on it as hard as I could to get the extra few mm. Glove box all back in now! Just gotta sort out my gauges and boost controller etc. Then the battery is going back in to see how many fires I can start lol! Note to self : Put the fing ducting and temp sensor in before the dash next time! :wack: Right bed time, work at 8am!
  5. Grrr cant get the passager side plastic ducting on that connects the heater box and pipe going across the passenger side! Looks like its meant to go back in before the impact bar, which means I may have to take it all out again! bugger
  6. Do it yourself then lol The temp sensor I was on about sits in the middle of the tube that feeds the windscreen vents. Can I f%£k get it back in! I unbolted the passanger side of the dash again and pulled it out a bit, got the sensor up on top of the pipes but cant get my hand round enough to pop it in the hole. Been trying for an hour and I have given up. I'm not taking the dash out again as all my clocks etc are back in place. Mate reckons it will mess the heater system up, but if anything it will think its colder than what it is and supply more heat. Not a major issue as I have no air con anyway. Anyone else know what problems this might cause, all the others are in ok. Its the one the arrow is pointing to, it was hanging down in the passanger footwell, its now loose in the little trough area around the hole its supposed to be in. Its not going to cause any major problems with the heater controls is it?
  7. I saw them + yours after i started my dash one I dont think most people know about them or look at them tbh!
  8. If I had loads of £££ I'd go wide and gets some aston rear lights moulded in. Do the zorsts like the tc concept.
  9. What vents do you mean? just taking the bars out the stock bumper vents? I have a stillen bumper which I like. My roof is getting done black soon but only the two strips either side of the t tops.
  10. I dont like the rear end of the z, but I love the back of rx7's see where i have gone with it... I do like that concept Z, best I have seen yet. We were wondering where they had put the fuel tank tho!
  11. I would definatly recommend buying one from a forum member. My car was well known by the forum when I got it. As it has been said though. If you buy a totally stock car with 70k on the clock, chances are it will need major new parts fairly soon. But for around the same money you could by one with a few more miles on the clock, that has had all the work done for the same money. I'm thinking turbos / clutch here Its only a number....
  12. you can shove a resister in for the knock sensor
  13. Yeah I crashed a mini years ago Garage quoted to fix it £946! I then told them its not going through the insurance, and they said ok £200! I think that a lot of garages rip off the insurance companies tbh
  14. Nope, no garage. Outside in a t shirt in the car with an extension lead and lamp lol Its due back on the rollers on Wednesday and I dont wana miss it as there is about a 3 week wait for nobles. Also im working all weekend and every day last week, Wednesday is my next day off!
  15. I would have took a pic of progress but it was almost 1am by the time I packed up last night!
  16. OK i finished putting the drivers side back in, hope it all works lol! There are big plastic tubes that the heater air comes down from the blower, a right pain to get on! On the passenger side above the glove box there is one, it must have come out with the dash as I have not seen it before. There is one of those little white temp senders in it. Can anyone tell me where abouts on that pipe the hole is for it as I have bolted the dash all back in and forgot to put the temp sender in doh!?
  17. Writeoff i'd say But you should get a couple of grand and be able to buy the car back for 100 quid or so. Wideass kit time!
  18. That front end and the rear end from the tc concept z = my perfect z i rekon
  19. sounds like your stat is leaking or stuck open if its taking that long my water is up to temp in 5min, but oil takes about 15 - 20min
  20. Surly someone must have access to the dvla database, cant be a hard qery to run really?! No dvla staff or coppers on here?
  21. Well I have neatened up all my wiring, put the crash bar and ducting back in. ready for the dash going back in now!
  22. lwb and swb ones are different too i think
  23. Yeah lol Just bought another one off ebay for 45 quid, not bad as they are still 150 in halfrauds. New one is the better version too. Also my one kept getting stuck on a red display so I think it was about dead anyway! All cause i want a big blue speed readout in my windscreen like a hud!
  24. Oh well, at least it wasnt the Tom Tom I bought last week! Could have took that back and got it changed tho!
