  1. the hole on the stock sender can get blocked and is too small which is why they all fail. You could replace it or attempt to widen the hole slightly by drilling it, must be carefull not to damage the diaphram inside it tho. They are almost always located on the passenger side. The port above the oil filter was used on very early and us models. It is sometimes used by people to add a second sender for an aftermarket gauge but you would need an L shape adapter or the sender will hit the steering rack. This is why it was moved to the passenger side. I put my car on stands and changed it, its quite far back in front of the passanger side turbo. Looks lots like an aftermarket sender, nothing special. The thread used is standard 1/8 so you can put a new aftermarket sender straight in and wire it to your aftermarket gauge which is what i did. I didnt get much oil leak when i removed it, but have the new one ready and put your finger over it quick!
  2. what about the swedish one kornigzeg or what ever
  3. i think the countach was the best looking 80s lambo, may not have been a great car but looks awsome. If I could have any Ferrari it would be an F40 as far as new super cars go it would have to be the zonda or maybe one of those swedish things
  4. cool, ill just shove it in then! Its the spline on the new single piece that is keyed, where it goes into the gear box. I take it that is to help me align the bolts up to the diff.
  5. mines not any more!
  6. Ill keep my mouth shut next time lol!
  7. Someone as fitted a rear fog light at some point and put a switch for it on your head light panel, its a pretty standard mod. These cars are 15 years old and you will find that there will be loads of bodged wiring done by various people and the stock wiring will be old and melted. I have a fog light switch in the same place which was added by a prev owner.
  8. I think they are to do with the hicas, id leave them alone unless you have hicas cancel bars.
  9. I have just noticed that the splined part of the prop shaft that goes into the gear box is keyed, ie it will go in one of two ways. I rememeber mickyb saying that there is a right way and a wrong way to mount the prop shaft but does this just apply to the stock shaft as its balenced to be mounted one way? When i fit my new single piece shaft can i just mount it either way?
  10. As was thinking of going bigger but might keep the 17" avs's now as they have some heritage
  11. cheers for the scanning si. It confirmed my thinking that I have the same wheels on my z! The Yokohama AVS ones! YEY They go with the stillen kit well.
  12. scan the other side in, i want to read the rest of it!
  13. id get thrown out for eating all the stock!
  14. I remember ceejay had a blue neon under the back of his car which he got pulled for. He got away with it as he argued that the light they could see was reflected off the ground and there were no blue lights on the rear of the car.
  15. i got pulled over for my number plate about a week after the mot!
  16. and white all the time for number plate lights mot testers are really inconsistant in my experiance, they even passed my number plate which is too small and not legal!
  17. I have the stock green one. passed the mot with it on

A have a co-driver coming as well. Would anyone mind if we used his golf gti rather than my z? Would love to take the z but the fuel, international insurance would be a pain, oh yeah it would probably break before we got there! Also the ring is not really a power track and a gti would be good out there, could maybe use it as a backup car for people that dont wana take their z out on the track also, for example if its wet etc. Are we going on the train or the boat? My mate went to france on the train and i think he paid about 25 quid return for his car which i think is well cheap.
  19. mmm dribble, pitty about the faulty steering wheel tho!
  20. The BTTF Deloran would be the ultimate dragster as it could do a quarter mile in like nothing. Oh hang on it would have to get 88.8mph before the finish line and that would never happen! lol

13.8 from a 2 litre beetle?! they are about as areodynamic as a brick!?
  23. I think my abs has saved me at least a couple of times. First time was on a wet morning on the way to thorseby show when a women pulled out in front of me. My thoughs over about two seconds went like this. F%&K! Brake! abs cuts in, Ok so stopping is not an option, look for a gap - ahh that'll do swerve and try not to spin it! Got past her after swerving violently with about an inch room on each side. If it wasnt for the abs cutting in I would have probably just locked up and not been able to steer around her. Ed
  24. yep and less weight, no centre bearing to fail! The only bad thing i heard is that an alloy single on a 2+2 can flex and slap about a bit. but mine is steel so much more rigid, should be all good.
