  1. This sunday 20th, Santa Pod,now seen as i have not been to the Pod as yet this year(i know, terrible of me)i will be going, and will be in the 540i, this will give me a good idea as to power and possible future mods,i know it was up for sale but have been itching to give it a blast, and may keep it and go down the charger route ;) ,so if anyones going off here and wants to be floored by a beemer see ya there :D (weather permiting of course,if its going to be like last sunday then its a no no) Tony :)
  2. Ooooops, sorry :D Your welcome to give us a ring or pop over,Num 22,i may be about but working shifts fook up ya social life :( ,will be here all weekend me thinks, especially with it looking like a wet weekend. Tony
  3. Hi mate,me at Jervis Close, NN11 4LL on southbrook just down from big Total Garage Roundabout,is yours the SWB N/A thats about or the LWB TT,me work at Cummins Engines, someone there has a Black SWB too. Tony
  4. Car was coming off the ramps for MOT as i got there (WORLDWIDE IMPORTS,near Milton Keynes)only thing told about was steering colum lower union wearing(play in steering wheel getting excessive)so i changed that anyways. Tony
  5. yep thats ok dont forget motors not done many miles, what does it read on tickover, about 20? Tony
  6. Ok bud no problem,as for another Z,think the new house purchase as put paid to any motor that costs more than a fiver to run  ,may be putting up the 540 for sale soon, will be only 10mins walk to work, and the 540 rarely used weekends, not much point in having it,wont do it any good as it will never warm up :( Tony
  7. If you not busy or in work weekend pop over mate, :) 07917793821 Could be main input rear bearing, just so happens i have a new bearing kit in a box sitting in garage ;) Tony
  8. More info here :) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=64134&highlight=compression+testing
  9. Your zorst Trevz has about 1-2psi back pressure, being straight through,so unless you have tubs that are in tip top condition with prob double seals you will get that dredded smoke when cold, you will prob find fitting a system with good back box's will clear it up,you realy need about 6-8psi back pressure with stock tubs, stock TT Z with cats and stock quad rears give around 16-18 psi back pressure(no wonder they go quicker when binned! :D ) Nice to hear you giving it a blast, allways been a rather rapid Z :) Tony
  10. Yes tis true,results in a 16% increase in stopping power ;)
  11. It will never ever happen, like most shite from the Euro prats they sod all better to do,they get paid shit loads to come up with cranky ideas, keeps them in work.
  12. Mark, get in touch with Elite, they should be able to sort you. http://www.elitewheels.co.uk/ Tony
  13. Trevz, sounds like a few niggles there but as you say very minor,as for rear fog,i am sure it comes on when the front fogs full on,allways been the same, uses stock rear light cluster, try it and let me know,as for oil cooler was told it had it done when new box went in,prob a little fib,to be honest i did not check that out when i got it back second time, good idea to get bigger one me thinks. As for your horn, prob my fault as i wired it up,prob caught and streched on boss, the Momo is a bit old school, got it for £10 at Trax 2003,like it tho. Tony
  14. Yes it prob is seals, was the smoke evident when engine warming up still, once tubs reach temp they will not smoke(hopefully),nothing to worry about realy, dont forget its got virtually no back pressure with that zorst(loud mother aint it :D )if you fit a system that gives more pressure symptoms will probably dissappear. Tony
  15. Hi Trevz, having fun with it  nearly bought it back but would of meant divorce proceedings :D ,any way will do me best to help with questions, but as its had couple of owners since me can only go on what i know. First off Hicas totaly gone from steering colum. The rear springs are new AVO 30mm lowerd(still have fronts in box if you interested) ECU is "Racing Club" JDM Tuning Shop (fitted in Japan prior to importing) Hicas light prob low oil as Scrawni states,as for skipping on rear prob subframe or lower arm bushes(prob been highlighted more due to lowering/stiffer rear.) Judder at front from around 100 could be lower arm bush as they tend to go with age or tension rod bush's.Can you feel it through the pedal,if so could be warped disc but they are not that old(couple thousand miles tops) Boost controller, fitted by me,dont go above 10 psi for saftey,i did go to 12psi to check the boost instal, i did not want to do any damage until i got it to Thor for checking on higher boost, but ran out of time,(could be running too lean, maybe not, but not worth the risk to go to say 14-15psi,which is why to resit temptation i would run with it off, boost is stock, well a tad over actualy near to 10psi). As for fast, well first time i bought it it was hairy machine, then sold it,lad blew up the motor, spent thousands on another engine, then box went, then exhaust, legal wrangles with not paying for work done, eventualy he got car back, threw in the towel as he had huge storage charges,in 5 years of me first getting it then for second time, it had done less than 1kmiles.You have a nice Z there bud, look after it,be safe. :) Tony
  16. Just thought i would post up some pics and info on what i have been doing, apart from bloody house hunting etc not much else, slowly been changing the 540 into something more easy on the eye, first off sourced a intake from the US,then Strutbrace, found some BMW alloys 8.5 fronts 9 rears, had autobox oil and filter change, change of powersteering fluid, new tie rods, sourced some BMW tinted rear lights from Germany, new tinted side repeaters, front tinted indicator lens's.Goes without question car is reliable and bloody quick,(trying to keep it in the sleeper mood tho)will be getting lowerd springs soon and been looking at nitrous or a supercharger for a later date,(house purchase dependent) Tony

Could be tubby seal, that system is straight through, not even back box's.Start it from cold, leave to warm up,check the smoke,if it smokes then take it for a 10 min run,if after run no smoke when idle then tubs have got to temp and oil not getting past seals, worth a try,let us know how it goes. Tony :)
  20. Yes mate, but its on DVD-RAM Disc,i can convert it to a normal DVD disc but will take time,if you have a player or a pc DVD drive that can play DVD-RAM then will send it off to you.Tony
