Completely agree, they are tightened and released in the same pattern which is roughly criss cross, get the online service manual and print off some pages :)

I recommend you get them to do everything and get another engine to rebuild. The reason for this is they want to know where everything is when the disassemble it, so they can put it back in the necessary order, if there is a problem with a component then they know where the problem is? Also if there is a problem with the engine then they have a comeback saying it is something you did to the engine as opposed to leaving them to do everything!

Are you rebuilding this engine yourself?

It is very very difficult to take both heads off with the engine in situ!

The oil cooler doesn't drain on an oil change unfortunately, so I am afraid it is still only 3.5 litres. Put in 3.5 litres and then check it after a couple of days?
