Heavey Blue Smoke/ Petrol Smell on Start up??
I know bore wash happens, but always thought it caused low compression due to ring/bore glazing and not anything to do blue smoke on startup, doing a google for it brings virtually nil results?

Heavey Blue Smoke/ Petrol Smell on Start up??
If the smell of petrol is coming from the engine bay it is the petrol pipework. Blue smoke on startup are the pcv valves, particularly the front hoses and or the valve stem seals.

brake pads... read throught the forums and cant decide
Couple of good points smithy, one other little thing, the majority of the calipers on 300s need professionally refurbing as they usually are sticking, sometimes when people get this done they don't bother upgrading their brakes!

which brake pads - definitive answer req :)
Shimming helps, breaking in the pads correctly helps, but how you stop the car makes a difference, if you are hard on the brakes there is less squealing than stopping slowly.

DS2500 nothing else touchs them in comparison, rears not available! Larger pad size is not an issue unless it is lengthwise, as the standard pad is too thick for the larger disc anyway and will overhang!

does both turbos come in together ????
They are also balanced out in another way, each turbo feeds the cylinders on the opposite bank, so if one side is not runnning correctly it reduces the chance on a V engine of running out of balance! On the Oz forum they did thorough testing on the plenum, and found the cylinders that were feed the most air were No.6 backwards, which may contribute to these cylinders going pop more regularly due to running lean,

With the REO's permission I have had a chat with Charlie and tried to organise a Club Day at Surrey Rolling Road! This meeting last year was very popular and Charlie at Surrey RR is one of the most respected dynos in the country, I would get your name down asap if you want to guarantee your place, Max 20 cars? To give everyone a flavour of the last one we did here is the link http://www2.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=109814&highlight=surrey+rolling+road+day Prices for 11+ cars are £35, with a £10 deposit payable to me to secure your place! After I have taken the deposits,I will give this to Charlie on the day you then pay the remaining balance to him, the deposits are non-refundable and will be given to Charlie if you don't turn up/or change your mind. The runs will be given time slots and the sooner you pay the sooner you guarantee your time? For this you get a dyno readout of Power at Flywheel Power at Rear wheels Boost Air Fuel Ratio Torque http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/ Link details and where to find the RR venue Meeting after the Dyno at Virginia Water for a couple of sherberts, and or food, it is difficult to put a time on this due to the varying factor of the rolling road, if money or time or the car isn't right it would still be good to see you at the dyno or virginia waters? Here is the Pub at Virgina Waters http://www.pub-explorer.com/surrey/pub/wheatsheafvirginiawater.htm If you want to pay your deposit, then please send a PM, with your username, full name and car reg and if paying by paypal please add 60p for fees, £10.60 in total?
