  1. The full kit is here of what you should change, I beleive the service interval for cambelts was changed to 40k by Nissan BTW. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=275&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2004081215082281.152.155.207
  2. Just to explain my reasoning, there is a remnant of water left in the block once flushed that you cannot drain. If you add water first you will not get the 50/50 mix right, because you do not know how much water is left in the block. If you add the measured amount of antifreeze you know you then have the mixture right because you just top it up with water! Chris the Water wetter does make a big difference, do a search to find companies that sell it in the UK!
  3. I would add the appropriate amount of antifreeze first, as there is amount of water left in the block, it is the only way you can guarantee you will have the right mix of water/antifreeze. I doubt that antifreeze would block any passages.
  4. Bleed screw on the top left of the rad.
  5. Take bleed screw out, put hose into the radiator and run water through it GENTLY until it runs clear. Do not use a rad flushing agent as this can often do more harm than good. Drain it and fill with 50% antifreeze/water and two bottles of redline water wetter to aid cooling.
  6. Did you get your bigger throttle bodies in the end Macca?
  7. Just above the centre of the picture.
  8. Out of interest Zhound, what type of spark plug are you using at the moment?
  9. Polish piston crowns, clear water channel flashings, balance pistons and conrods
  10. I missed out a crucial first sentence. I think he has an air lock, that is why I think he needs to follow the above procedure to get rid of it.
  11. You can refill the engine without taking out the thermostat, make sure you have the interior heater on hot, remove the bleed screw, raise the car on the driver side and run the engine while refilling. Whenever you take it out for a run let it cool down and see if it needs topping up, is your reservoir full up as well?
  12. Jay you might want to retitle this thread, because anyone new might not realise where the Royal Oak is, maybe something like Slough meet in SE?
  13. UK and US fuel have the same octane rating just different scales of measurement. 11B is for higher boost cars, if yours is still stock gio go for the 11C, 6 of one half a dozen of the other, on a stock car, if you will excuse the pun :D
  14. Chris why don't you like the S14a? Got a S13, amazing car, 300bhp and 30mpg, cheap parts, cheap insurance! And will knock spots off most things on the road!
  15. I think the service interval was reduced by Nissan to 40k miles and here is the list of what you should replace http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=275&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2004080414490781.152.157.159
  16. Of course you lose performance here,I never disputed that Ryan, but it sounds like a cheap alternative option for jay! Jay the best thing here is to return to the setup where you were getting no Detonation, have you removed your PRVR system as this maybe causing your car to lean out slightly? 15 psi is all the stock turbos can take for them to have any sort of viable lifespan.
  17. PRVR often malfuntions causing your engine to run lean and bang! Throttle body bypass, there is a heating system in the plenum to stop the TB's freezing shut if you live in places like Alaska, it defeats the object of having your Intercoolers because it increases the intake temps, also if you bypass this it will vastly simplify plenum removal! EGR removal, for emmisions control and also lowering combustion temps, this bit of kit often malfunctions and has no viable performance gain!
  18. Gio, You could bypass the throttle bodies while you have the plenum off, blank off the egr system, remove the prvr system, amongst other ideas.
  19. That probably is the case but the only person to qualify that would be John, or he could retard the ignition timing map slightly for him.
  20. Jay, Why don't you get JD to remap your chip for more fuelling at the revs you are getting det?
  21. No worries matey.
  22. Been keeping up with current affairs Shrimpy, to be honest things have got so bad it is beyond comedy and no longer a laughing matter for me.
  23. LOL, the pay is so bad, I reckon I will soon have to pay to go into work soon!
  24. What I wanna know is which one had the dodgy pics handy? :D
  25. Quality I am wetting myself here :D :D :D
