Club Sec/Chairman...IMPORTANT...so read!
You have made a few quid out of this place, by breaking your zed, I am not questioning your morales around this, just the contradicition in your statements! Yes I have, never denied the fact that I sold my car for money. Had I put the advert instead in the news agents window would I then be accused of "having made a few quid" out of RS MCOLLS? But you did say “I certainly dont rank as having made "a few quid out of this place"”, when as you have just said the opposite is true! Another slight contradiction Jock, you won't reveal who gave you the information you base your judgements on but you want all information held by the commmittee to be in the open, and viewable by all! Ihave never said anything of the sort, an explanation of the commitees actions is all I have ever asked for, a clear set of guidlines would be a start. We already have guidelines in the constitution and the Acceptable Use Policy, what other guidelines would you want and what covering! The amount of guidelines you can have is infinite, there comes a stage where you have to trust the people making the judgements and have confidence in their ability! Rules are for the guidance of wise men is a phrase that seems appropriate! A case of do as I say, not as I do! I have stated my reasons for that mark, it is all hearsay and so cannot be rattified and I will not ask people to defend me. It is curious that you are allowed to quote the grapevine in your post (and others, I took it as a joke BTW, as I would not presume that you were being petty)but I am not? is this another right of committee members? Furthermore, my judgements do not affect the way the forum is run, I am not putting restriction on people or issues based on my judgement, so who is there to explain them to? Seems as if you getting oversensitive here jock, the other post was a joke as denoted by my smileys and acknowledging the fact we are all human and can make mistakes! My other reference to the grapevine was given to me by Mac, in which he said the only criticism he has heard against me was some members thought I was too vocal. My answer was that it is my job as club sec, I try and deal with all electronic questions regarding the club, this means I have to give people answers, when and if the club is criticised, whether the criticism is constructive or not! I cannot believe you are suggesting a free for all discussion of legally sensitive issues, some members would not be confident about having their complaints dealt with in the open and would also leave them open to legal proceedings and the forum as we are the media upon which it is published! I have never advocated a free for all discusion on anything, the only thing I have ever asked for is an explanation of why things were done. This is a core point, my discussions have never been about any one person or one issue they have always been about clarity "X happened becauseof Y" , not "the commitee have decided X is the case and no discussion will be entered into" Clarity about what when where and whom, we can give untold reasons about what action we have taken and why, including a cost analysis of the stationery we have bought. When do we draw a line under our executive decisions and say that is that, the analysis of our decisions would be infinite, with each debate unfolding layer after layer! I assure you that there have been no legal consequences for the forum in the matter to which I believe you are referring,or moral ones either! A person, (who I have no personal knowledge of, or feelings toward) was villified on this board to the extent that you could not mention his name or the town where his business was based, becuase he had a case with a member which was subjudice, totally unrelated posts by him or about him were locked or removed, any discussion on the fact was hampered (and yes I agree that some posts and discussions got out of hand, but that could have been stopped to a great degree by the earier issuing of the statement) and no such action was taken against the other party. Mark, if you tell me that there was no personal bias in that, and that no member of the committee holds a personal opinion that came to the fore in that decision, I will of course believe you. No and as far as I know no members of the committee, were ever customers of the person! Legal and moral issues aside, the sheer volume of comments being made by members should have required an answer Yes the answer was given! The committee is made up of people who have the long term interest of this club and it's members at the very fore of their minds, they take every decision after long and arduous discussion! I am afraid I refuse to give you the moral high ground on this, the club is formed of people who have its long term interest at heart. And despite opinion to the contrary I believe I am one of them. I don’t like insinuation that I am taking the moral high ground, and I won’t lower myself to the level of petty bickering, below the belt Jock! I would like to pride myself on the level of fair play I have tired to propagate on this forum and I have tried to do my best guys! Thanks for the positive words some people used to say thanks for the work I have done, yeah sure the forum ain’t perfect, but you have a good bunch of people working for you and trying to make progress, the elections will be next year and the sec post will be sooner, if you don’t like the way things have been done then vote how you like! This is the last post I will do in this thread, Jock I will let you have the last say as you seem to have a “passionate” agenda regarding the forum/positions, and to me this discussion has degrading into petty bickering, doing the forum and the contributors of this thread no favours!

I must admit Jock I think this is getting a bit pedantic, but I will carry on answering the points! That'll be me going on about this "shareholder crap" then. Or maybe not as I certainly dont rank as having made "a few quid out of this place" You have made a few quid out of this place, by breaking your zed, I am not questioning your morales around this, just the contradicition in your statements! So if you are gonna make money anyway from a zed anyway, but you use the forum as media for doing this, it makes it ok! Who were the people who got accused and were did the info come from? You still haven't answered who was accused of giving you information? This meant that a lot of members saw me as being vocal, so I have heard through the grapevine, but I was just trying to answer their questions. If you are implying mark that you heard something through the grapevine that I didnt say to you in person the night you phoned me, then youre grapevine is mistaken. When asked by you on the phone what I thought of the situation on the forum, I told you that I did not think the commitee had the right to keep information from the members and that doing so displayed a superior attitude which I strongly disagreed with No jock this meant exactly what it said, it had no reference to you whatsoever! There is no secret agenda by the committee, the comittee at this point in time is legally responsible for the forum and will have to answer personnaly for any legal action taken against it! The committee cannot have accusations about traders/members/committee bandied about in a carefree manner, it also cannot support people who carry out dangerous repairs to cars! There is no desire for information to be withheld, but for slander and liable to be contained!

Club Sec/Chairman...IMPORTANT...so read!
Thanks to everyone who has supported me! It is comforting to know that after a year's work, people have given some positive feedback on what has been achieved and realise that club is a work in progress, not a company with people actually making money at a desk! Just a couple of points though Jock, since I have to say you have been forward in your viewpoints! That'll be me going on about this "shareholder crap" then. Or maybe not as I certainly dont rank as having made "a few quid out of this place" How did your breaking of your zed go? Well the post that all the "shareholder" stuff comes from, got me flack from all angles, people got accused of feeding me information, having private agendas, stirring up trouble, all sorts of shennanigans. Who were the people who got accused and were did the info come from? And that was just one post. I dont let that sort of thing phase me, cos as said, I say what I mean to the person I want to say it to. I must admit I haven't been saying what I mean to the person on the thread and I thought as sec I couldn't do that, I have tried to maintain my anonimity as sec. The role of the sec is mainly administrational and I took that on board to mean that I would try and answer any members posts regarding the club. This meant that a lot of members saw me as being vocal, so I have heard through the grapevine, but I was just trying to answer their questions.
