to keep or get rid
No offence but judging by your previous efforts id dig deep and pay someone. Those faults are not common so it sounds like something you may have done.

Having a nightmare with my brakes
Glad you got it sorted Chris in the end.Brake pipes can be a nightmare when they get corroded.Sometimes heat just aint enough.

Having a nightmare with my brakes
Grind a flat on one side of the fitting.go careful that you dont go to deep and hit the threads. It should release the grip and allow it to be undone.

MK1 Escort - £30K
30k is strong but a twin cam mk 1 escort was rare when it came out.Now its even rarer.A well sorted Rs2 can fetch over 10k.The mk2 Rs 1800 goes for around 15k+ if its original and tidy.Your not just buying a mk1 escort but a piece of motoring history.Swap my zed for that anyday.

What kinda Power with this setup?

Hmmmmm...Z1 Nationals Day...do I, don't I?
If the missus plays up Si,Get the string vest and soveriegns on.Couple of stellas and a quick back hander works a treat mate. They soon learn not to play up.

engine knock
That does sound like a big end knock im afraid bud.Pulling the coil pack off will as your mate says take the load off the piston and reduce the noise.Im not tyring to put a damper on things mate but the shells might not cure it.The crank may be damaged and the con rods can go oval from the hammering its get banging around on the crank journal.fingers crossed you may get away with the shells. If the journal has gone blue at the edges and has scoring that you can feel with your thumbnail then it probaly needs grinding. If it just has mild scoring then you can clean up the journals with some 180 grit emery cloth kept wet with wd40.Keep going till the scoring cleans up.As a final test run a 2p coin over the journal,if it leaves copper behind then the journal needs further sanding or is maybe to far gone.Any mild marks will come out using the emery.

Timing belt adjustment by Zedworld?
A belts £50 but the idlers and tensioner will set you back £250 ish.And these almost always need changing as the heat melts the grease in the bearings eventually and they go dry and sieze up.
-
Timing belt adjustment by Zedworld?
If your in any doubt get it done.Never assume that it must have had the belt changed.

Lymons post "I wouldn't use a NA box on a TT, as it will burn out within 1000 miles. it does fit though, but you need everything: AT box + ECU , converter, flexplate and propshaft (front part)"
-
please some one.
IIRC the tt box will fit with some mods.Ive never done the swap but im sure it is possible.Lymon posted a couple of weeks ago that it can be done.

MOT on an early 95 model decatted.
Mot regs dont require cats after 92,just that it passes a cat emission test.Youd be amazed at the amount of testers that dont know the interpretation of mot regs.Had a mate ring the other day because his discovery was failed by a tester who said the new boot floor panel hed put in had to be seam welded and not spot welded.Only patch repairs need to be seam welded.

need some help! with stalling
54 is an auto box code.not the det sensor.itr refers to the communication link between the engine and box ecu.
-
Got a slight missfire.
Hope you get it sorted.Still worth checking where your loom plugs into the new ptu as you said. The pins can get very corroded.
-
Got a slight missfire.
If the cat overheat light is coming on you have unburnt fuel going down the exhaust,So that rules the injector connectors out.Check your coil pack/ptu plugs are tight and making good contact, see if you can borrow a known good set of coil packs and ptu and swap them and if that fails check the plugs. It could still be an issue in the loom even after youve done all the other checks but thats worst case scenario.

dom deluise
Didnt he fall from grace for having under age sex with a girl or something similar.Im sure it was in the nineties?

Have I missed anything?
A shim that big would cause issues.Ive fitted similar but much smaller shims on rover k series heads that have been skimmed to the limit.
