  1. Well here comes what`s becoming my annual whinge about garage prices where I live ! Last week had MOT costing £50 Failed on track rod end and front tyre , (Result , I thought ) Today , I supplied the tyre and TR End ( Thanks john300zx ) Charges : Labour To fit Track rod end : £126 To fit tyre : £ 35 !! Valve and balance , Tyre disposal , " Environment " and " Sundries " (WTF ? ) : £ 23 So , with VAT , bearing in mind I supplied the parts , the total was : £216 Am I mean ? Does that sound reasonable ? Bearing in mind West London . Opinions welcome .
  2. Yep ! But I must add that I was driving the Zed at the time , and the silly fooker braked all suddy like :p

On the other hand , Hugh Wuthering-Heights` three progs on the " standard " ( cheap ) chicken living conditions vs free-range were brilliant . An eye-opener for anyone who wasn`t aware of the horrific reality of supermarketing .

FFS !!! How did we all cope before TV " Experts " told us how to live our fookin` lives ? ie Raise children , train dogs , buy houses , decorate houses , do gardening , pass driving tests , choose holidays and any other bandwagon that the Controllers of TV Programming unashamedly jump on ? Oh , just in case you decide to get into antiques/junk , you`re guaranteed to find umpteen copycat shows of increasing mediocrity any lunchtime ( just before the news ! I thank fook for Sky+ just to avoid the end of these infantile fooooookin` excuses for BBC Broadcastng ) Obviously , I don`t have strong feelings either way :p
  5. Never let Professor Gaz of the University of Bournemouth be accused of oversimplification . Next week Prof. Gaz explains the meaning of life ,the universe and everything .
  6. Good night to all my readers , which I can count on the fingers of one... .finger , apparently :p
  7. There`s no denying the fact that we have been conditioned to expect and respond to traffic lights . Maybe we should be given a chance to display a sense of responsibility and mutual respect when , say , approaching junctions . The fact that traffic lights have been around for as long as we can remember doesn`t make them indispensable . The people who first introduced them couldn`t foresee all possible future ramifications . This area of discussion , like many others , is difficult for many people to engage with because they fear change : " This is what I know , and have always known and I won`t even consider any alternatives ! " Sheep don`t think , they follow . On a lighter note , they make nice chops , bless `em :D
  8. Well done for perservering , Jimmy  Agree or not , a discussion is good :D
  9. That deserves prison sentences . Seriously , think of the carnage that might have caused
  10. A rather clever chap presented a report on these things . His argument was that they slow trafiic down , add to polution in cities and cost fortunes to install and maintain . The reasoning is that without lights , drivers aren`t left sitting unneccessarilly at red lights when there`s nothing preventing them going ahead , causing extra pollution . There is no need to race to catch a green light , or the revving away , waiting for the green . Asked about whether drivers would drive too fast , he pointed out that drivers approaching a junction without lights slow down and use common sense and courtesy to decide who goes first . This has been trialled successfully in parts of Sweden , or was it the Netherlands ( anyway , somewhere more progressive than here ! ) There , it gave pedestrians the same rights as drivers , (we`re all pedestrians as soon as we step out of our cars ) . Whether that would work in London for instance...hmmm Another point made was the debasement of our public spaces with yellow and white paint all over the roads , and all the stupid road signs disfiguring our cities . " If anybody painted all that stuff on walls , they`d be in trouble " I think he has a good case for trials to be carried out in certain areas and monitored over a sensible period of time . Food for thought , Zedders ? Read and discuss :D
  11. Oh , and I realised today that my MOT expires tomorrow , so got it booked in . So a wee slurp to aid sleep is in order LOL
  12. I was in Tescos tonight and found that they`d raised the prices for 18 and 24-can packs of Fosters from their previous offers ; but then I spotted that the 12-packs , which I usually don`t get , were £6.43 . Well , what could a man do ? I invested in four , just to be sure I had enough to keep up with the likes of Andy Duff ( " My Liver`s Had Enough " ) and Stella ( " Give your guts a break , fella " ) . Carling Black Lable is my other swill of choice , depending on price . I love beer price competition in the supermarkets :D Drink !! :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:
  13. Brilliant ! Ya take yer eye off the `pooter and your New Posts go from 80 to one ! WTF ?
  14. Say you read all the above advice and became determined to learn to spell . So you joined a class in an infants` school . Things can only get better , as long as you take your ( as opposed to " you`re " ) afternoon nap . Tell them you have no idea what to do without asking your internet friends . That might work . Bless :) Good Luck , mate :duffer:
  15. Congratulations and good luck to you both :) :duffer: :duffer:
  16. There`s a fantastic metallic blue one parked at the end of my street at the moment . Not the first time either .
  17. Turned it off halfway through  Really tough job for Richard Hammond .
  18. " One of the greats  " : Gumball3000 :duffer: :duffer: :D
  19. What a rip-off . That man should be embarrassed :smash:
