Boring to the extreme , but just seeing if my pic comes up after this...I`m another newbie whose pic is too big to get as avatar ( strange word...WTF does it mean ? lol )- Helpful tips!
:) LMAO - Speeding is not dangerous, official !!
  Until about two years ago , I had lived on the Isle of Wight for over twenty years . The road this character did 150 MPH on is known locally as the Military Road and it it runs along the south coast of the I.O.W. , where it suffers from coastal erosion , and the road is getting nearer to the cliffs . It is the only realistic road to get up to any speed on , the only dual carriageway being in Newport , and about three seconds long , and restricted ! However , the Military Road is quite narrow , bumpy , dippy and uneven , to say the least . Over the years , I accidentally got to about 100 MPH on it ( including in a 300ZX Z31 Turbo ) , but at that speed I often felt I didn`t have all four wheels on the road at once :( Stability is , let`s say , tenuous . What this twot was doing was risking just taking off , and losing the thing and hurtling either left (OK ) or worse , right...into some poor fooker on holiday with his family . By the bye , a well-known and liked local bike dealer lost his life on that road when a tractor emerged from a gate on that very road , with which he was extremely familiar . Motorways are built for speed..former cart-tracks in a state of ill-repair are not . And anyway...who drives a Boxter without insurance ? Who actually owned it ? Not Twatty , I`ll wager ! :headvswal- whats your runabout??
To paraphrase from " Spitting Image " of yor : Slowhand will be back , talking *****x , at the same time next week .- whats your runabout??
My legs...can`t see the point in having a Zed unless I use it . And try getting a Residents Parking Permit for a SECOND CAR ( !!! ) where I live ! Hard enough trying to find a space as it is . By the way , Jeff TT , you obviously have too much dosh...I`ll let you have my postal address should it be troubling you , though . Least I can do . Kidding ,mate , good luck to ya . Stats : Legs : 0-2mph..1 sec Zed : 0-2mph..unrecorded and immaterial Time I was in bed , obviously . :o- Are they lying to me?
LOL LOL Oh , Those were the days ! :x: :headvswal :headvswal   Result : :duffer: We`re The Sweeney an` we ain`t `ad our dinner !!!- How can you tell if one spark plug isn't ...sparking?
Sub editor`s note : before the word " notion " in the second line , please choose either the word " the " or " that " . Suggest taking more water with it !- How can you tell if one spark plug isn't ...sparking?
I`m hoping ya don`t get a belt whilst pulling those coils , as one tends to do with normal plug connectors ! :( Not suggesting Gareth B gets some kind of sexual gratification from the that notion LOL . It`s more to do with an experience I had while being looked after by older kids of family friends while our folks were out , when I was ickle . They got me to put my thumb in the hall-light socket by standing half-way up the stairs...said it was great . Nothing happened . " Ya gotta touch both things " , they said , not being versed in electrical jargon . So I did . Nearly yanked me ickle fookin` arm off !!! Never forgotten that feelin` . LOL So , given my perfectly rational fear of being electro-plated , " Iss it SAFE ? " Yours Paranoiacally- Fuel Tank Size??
LOL , beginer`s luck , mate ! :duffer:- Fuel Tank Size??
snap !- Fuel Tank Size??
Almost spot-on , G . H . It`s 72 litres ( 15 7/8 gals . ) . No credit due to me : I got the car last Monday , and the manual last Wednesday ! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:- Newbie..opinions on cam-belt check needed
 Many thanks Neil (LOL ) , Legrath , Vijay ( Kensington , btw ) , Speedemon , and good luck , Richie . Well , the mechanic/trader/gentleman/scholar has got back to me with a phone number for the previous owner : turns out he`s not quite moved yet . I have just spoken with him ; he and his brother are classic car enthusiasts ( dismembered Elans scattered around , that kinda thing ) , and I can rest assured that he has fitted the belt , as well as water pump , injector cables , plugs etc... He used semi-synthetic oil , hope that`s ok , lol . So , a huge sigh of relief from me and my debit card ! Thanks again , Lads :duffer:- Newbie..opinions on cam-belt check needed
Your drive must be almost as long as my hall ! Be Good and Careful- Newbie..opinions on cam-belt check needed
Hi folks Glad to make your acquaintance . Quick intro : over the years , and with other makes in between , I`ve had a 260Z ( crap choke ! ) , 280 ZX , and 300zx Turbo Z31 . But when the 300ZX TT arrived , I WANTED one , just as you all must have . Fast forward , for any readers still awake and even remotely interested , I got one four days ago . Bought it from a one-man garage ( which was very well equipped , not a slum ) . Anyway , to the point : I truly sensed this was an honourable young guy...well-spoken , helpful and flexible . He had bought the J-Reg TT Auto from a regular customer , who had done some work on the car himself...upgraded brakes , replaced under-bonnet connectors etc... . I asked about the cam-belt , and he had sourced and supplied the guy with the kit . Over two visits , viewing and doing the deal , he assured me as far as he could , that the previous owner was not the type to NOT fit the kit . Unfortunately he has moved to Spain , sooo how can I check , just to be safe , considering the possible implications however small the odds ? By the way , great site , nice sense of people willing to help each other...but enough to induce acid-size paranoia seeing the POTENTIAL nightmares available to us all . Sorry to be so brief ! - Testing Testing...123
