fuel smell
Faded bit is eliminated with Smithy's Fuel Line Kit. The front pipe is the one that always leaks.

MOT Failure due to Tyre Wear (Camber issues)
- 4 tyres - adjustable front upper arms (Powertrix/SPL) - adjustable front tension rods (Powertrix/SPL) - adjustable rear upper arms (Powertrix/SPL) or Shim Kit - new springs (oem or Eibach/Tein/Avo) - new shocks (oem or KYB/Koni) be silly not to while its apart just a small step further and fully poly-bush it, some Whiteline ARBs and some braided brake lines  :wack:

Dam! Change ptu, but engines still cuts out & dies...
:) no problem you can check your ecu codes manually to start i reckon. Find the plug in the drivers footwell near the bonnet release handle. Jump the two end pins together (hair-clip, paper-clip, short wire) you will see the engine warning light start flashing. Count the short and long flashes and that gives the codes. 55 (5 long, 5 short) is all clear. (bottom 2 pins on their own in this pic)

MOT Failure due to Tyre Wear (Camber issues)
If you go for adjustable uppers then you need adjustable tension rods with the hard rose-joint or there will be trouble. As for the back you can get the adjustable uppers, or a shim kit. USA ebay can get you a shim kit for a good price. As for the arms, you arent gonna get a better price or service than Smithys-Place ;), no need to shop around you got the best place first time! But there must also be a cause to your problem. You should be looking artound for a set of new springs at the least. Expensive thing: camber! :wack:

Hmmmm if you were a bit closer I would come round with a Conzult. I may be passing through Reading next week so if you are still in trouble there is a possibility I could stop by and hook the laptop up.

Toyota is going to kill my Z.
I think if I was to sell it, i'd put it back to standard, especially with zed parts > zed prices these days. I'd hate to though. Planning and building my car has been a major thing for the past year, but i'm only approaching being half done. When i'm in Japan i will be most definitely be on the lookout for zed bits for everyone here, be sure of that! :) Damn the Belgians for being LHD :(

Toyota is going to kill my Z.
 Cheers Steve! :) Dont worry, i'm not starting until September. Thing is I dont want to stop spending on the zed, I have it all planned out!

Toyota is going to kill my Z.
Cheers for the replies guys. :) Thing is, after Japan i'm in Brussels permanently. So how long can i survive with LHD. It really is a double edged sword this job!

Toyota is going to kill my Z.
Belgium isnt the problem, I'll drive it there, and hope I survive in a LHD country. It's the 2 years in Japan thats will see the end.

Toyota is going to kill my Z.
Well I have just landed the job of my dreams. But how will this affect my Zed? In September I start work in Toyota's Research and Development site. I will be working on Body Design, will involve a lot of travel, especially to Japan. I get to work on their new body designs, and also get to visit tons of motor shows around the world. Now the bad news. :( I will be based in Brussels, Belgium for the first year, then moving to Japan for nearly 2 years. Well actually thats great news for me! But not for my Z. I am nowhere near finished building it to my spec, having spend thousands to get where I am. Belgium being L.H.D. and Japan being on the other side of the world is going to cause Z problems. I dont think importing my import BACK to Japan is a good idea! I will probably take it to Brussels for the year and see what it's like. But Japan opens up much wider options. What do you lot reckon?

Brand New Fuel Pump : £44.50
Thats what I'm worried about, the Pump control interface. (btw I have a JWT chip.)
-
big rear rubber bushes
Thats the subframe bush, there are 4. Complete pain in the ass to remove. And requires removing the whole rear subframe/axle. Well worth doing though! Upgrade to Energy Suspension Polyurethane. Also you could add some subframe solid spacers to firm it up further.

Silverstone Poll - Maximum Parade Speed?
Cant wait for the parade. :) I'm sure the pace will be right and we will all have fun. As for track days, no chance i'm taking the zed out into the bedlam on one of those, sorry! :) Will enjoy the show though.

Brand New Fuel Pump : £44.50
I'm guessing due to their price compared to OEM. I am not necessarilly looking for a high flow pump, just a new one that works. Some peope say the Walbro doesnt work too well with the Nissan control box which is why I am hesitant. The cheaper "OEM standard" one seems to be compatible with a huge range of cars. Which leads me to the 'one size fits nothing very well' conclusion that it may not be a good replacement.
