The consensus is that this routing acts as a 'cooler'. You can replace the entire route with a small square conventional cooler if you are worried, I have seen it done.

The bottom one is oldest 1989. The top one is a small revision in the first year of production 1990 (minor change). The centre one is 1992 onwards (major change). (Don't confuse Series 2 of individual parts across the vehicle, as they don't always correlate.)

What oil should I use, is unfortunately one of life's unanswerable questions! The more you ask, the more different replies you will get! :euro:

As above, screw 2 bolts alternately slowly into the two holes near the centre, it will easily prise off.

Contrary to popular belief lather does not help clean the car at all. Take AG BSC, it is renowned as fantastic, yet has zero lather. Although I also hear this Carplan is not so great.
