300ZX required for shoot in Japanese Performance magazine

Hi

Chris Rees from Japanese Performance magazine here.

We're doing a profile on the 300ZX R32 for the magazine and we need to find a car to photograph in the studio - can anyone help?

What we're looking for:

* A standard, original 300ZX or Fairlady Z in immaculate condition (can be either UK or JDM spec)

* A good strong colour like red, blue or yellow, but not black

* Someone who can take a full weekday off and bring the car to the studio at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu

What you get in return:

* Your car in Japanese Performance magazine

* Fuel expenses

* A CD-ROM of the photo shoot

* Free access to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu on the day

We're looking to do the shoot within the next 2-3 weeks or so.

Do you think you can help? Please get in touch!

Cheers

Chris Rees

Hi Chris,

I'm sure it's just a type-o but please take note that these cars are referred to as Z32, nor R32. Would be embarassing if that made it into the magazine. ;)

Good luck with the shoot.

Regards,

Dan

Shame mine's not one of those colours... but if you ever change your mind....

are you talking 100% original as that would narrow it down to very few members, such as gio, in this months 'car of the month' competition... however, if your talking subtle modifications such as funky-si (wheels, exhaust).. then you open up a big field of candidates...

Get in there funki-si, he hasnt mentioned that your colour isnt wanted and imo the pearl white is strong colour... i would also expect Steve-300zx to step forward for this but its a hefty journey for him... you work in southampton alot right Si? so its only round the corner for ya... heres ya big break!

but si's car doesnt really shine in photo's, that pearl color always loks dull

crotchrockets motor is a nice clean zed, but again its white and doesnt shine well in photo's

"go for it rocky" in a low raspy voice :D

Pearl's glow, not shine. I'd hardly call any of the above pictures 'dull'.

Put your car forward Si,

As Joel says, they didn't say they don't want your colour; they only said not black.........

If mine was stock I'd do it, but I have a 99-spec bumper.......

......not to mention different wheels ;)

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

if they want to suck the dents out of mine and give it a touch up here and there they can use mine ;) lol....

Not in the flesh it aint dull, just the opposite. It is one of the cleanest cars around and the slowest but thats down to respect for it by Si. ;)

si's car is on the money, if you have not seen it dont pass comment!!

looks better than fridge white

Try craig david's. It's a genuine 99 spec, pretty much stock and an absolute stunner in my opinion.

Something a little bit rare

If there's any car on here that deserves to be in a mag it's Si's. They've got to think about how it will fit into the mag I guess though, so maybe they won't go for the colour.

They don't want a black one mate, they are too slow....... I'd like C.Ds though.

Actually Senor David's is a good idea. Something a bit different, a nice looking, genuine 99 spec...which is midnight purple. ;) Under the right lighting conditions and with a good photographer that colour could really "pop".

mine not even standard. oh well

Thanks for the kind thoughts chaps - not sure if I've got time at the moment to spend a day doing this. Plus midnight purple does look pretty much like black unless it's lit in certain ways. And I've got non standard wheels and exhausts. I could put the standard wheels back on I guess... But time's the main problem for me right now.

A couple of thoughts - if anyone even thinks their car might be ok, don't be shy and let Chris know. I'm sure he'd rather have lots to choose from.

Also, he kindly offered petrol expenses but that was in the south central forum - if someone's coming from much further I don't know if the it's reasonable to expect petrol money or not. Just a thought really.

Anyway, if anyone thinks their car fits the bill and can spare the time, I'd say get i contact with Chris.

Joel yours is proberbly the most stock looking apart from the wheels, its bright red too, why dont you give it a go?

I'd say si's is a stunner and well worth getting involved. The guy's put a heck of a lot of work into getting the paint right
