Does anyone else have the problem that the fuel pump on the forecourt keeps tripping out no matter what angle it's at or how gently you squeeze the trigger. It's just taken me about twenty minutes to fill it up and my last Z was the same. Is this normal??.

Yep, then watch it like a hawk when you get to about £50 cos it stops the auto cut out on the pumps from working so you end up with petrol on your shoes

it works for when i turn the nozzle 90 degrees to the right but some pumps will scratch the edges of your fuel cap enclosure but if you just stick a couple of paper towels between the pump trigger and the body you will all right.

I keep a panel pin in my car to let you use the catch the holds the trigger in so i dont get hand cramp from gripping it for 60 litres worth.

Every thing he said is what I do. Scarey

so you are the one who keep nicking all the towels then!

i have noticed scatches on the side of petrol cap enclosure on other peoples zeds (sad of me to be looking i know!) so were are not alone!

same problem here too, although ive noticed of the three pumps at my local Shell, each one requires a different angle of entry :p each time it cuts i adjust by 15 degrees and try again until it behaves itself.

...and no matter how much i shake the nozzle after filling up, i still get drops of petrol on my shoes, the floor, etc.

yeah i thought my scooby was a pain when filling up but my zed is worse but i dont mind though it is a bit annoying when in a rush i just put the tip of the nozzle in but keep an eye to make sure it is going in ok

It's only back pressure, just don't be in too much of a rush after stopping the car and removing the cap, just give it a moment. I also have this, and have found the 4 O'Clock position works fine :D

Of course, some pumps are at a faster rate, so they can get through more customers!! ;)

To stop it dripping after you have filled the tank and without the pump trigger pressed turn the nozzle upside down (handle up the way) and slowly remove the pump.

Im a bigger supporter of the 8 oclock position, never fails me

no my flap does not get in the way

unless im confused , nope as im filling up i turn the nozzle so the top of it turns clock wise??

at 3 'o'clock seems to work great for me , takes about 5 minutes to fill her up.

Most of the pump handles i've used have a protective plastic strip on them so they dont damage the bodywork and dont create static.

i never ever have any trouble with fuel filling
