Who gives a toss.......worthless rubbish [emoji23]

LOL - true....

......And on a day like today, why would anyone want to be crammed into a hot, sweaty pub watching football - when it's glorious outside??

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Patriotism Richard.. :lol::thumbup1:

If the scenes at the pub up the road today was patriotism then you can keep it. Nothing but loud mouth piss heads.

Watch it on ur own then!

We need patriotism because English ism! Is dead!

Great win!

Come on England !

I didn't watch a minute of it. I used it as a great excuse to take out the Z to see if I could reinvigorate my passion with it as I have about as much interest in football as I have in having a bout of chronic diarrhoea.

Well it worked....after spending some time yesterday on all fours sorting a few suspension things out, it seems to have done the trick. Lovely drive, car feels sharp and smooth and the engine is still a gem.

Few little things I want to do to it over the next few months (VTC Helix, full alignment and a trip to Vibration-Free).

It's staying.

LOL - I get that mate! I am patriotic to the end; it's just that I don't care for football.... But still, a good win for England!!

And I have to agree Chris...

Julia and I spent the day at Cogges Manor Farm, near Witney, today. Early afternoon, we wandered along a little path into the town centre... And despite Witney being a reasonably nice area, on the edge of the Cotswolds (and home to David Cameron), you're dead right! We passed (very quickly, I might add) a Wetherspoons pub, which was "proudly" showing the football. There were two bouncers outside - at 12.45 - and they had just kicked one such person out. He was mouthing off like no-one's business - and the game hadn't even started...

Didn't spoil out day though; we just walked on past, explored the main street of Witney and headed back into Cogges to enjoy the rest of the sunny afternoon....

Still, I like to think it's just the small minority giving the others a bad name...….

Glad to hear that Si; you know it makes sense....

And yes - as per my post above, we had a great afternoon as pretty much everywhere was quiet, due to people watching the football.... Even heading home through Oxford didn't present any traffic issues today....

Watch it? I do everything possible to avoid it.

Its about as interesting to watch as the eurovision song contest....

I had a much more pleasant afternoon showing my lad how to measure crank journals for new bearings. [emoji41]

You would have thought we had won the world cup with behavior like this:

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/ashford/news/england-fans-stop-traffic-after-win-184868/

There is another video somewhere of a road being blocked in Eastbourne by idiots as well.

Football is spoilt by people like that who use "being a fan" as an excuse for bad behaviour.

I also feel that the rise in fights and beatings at horse racing venues is linked to certain groups of people who would normally fight at football, but cant because of hightened security and match bans, so they go to the races, drink all day and pick on someone smaller than them and kick them in the head

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/6229309/goodwood-race-sussex-fight-man-kicked-head/

This countries attitude to alcohol needs to change. We dont need to get pissed all the time to have a good time, stag/hen parties, holiday with the lads, etc. How many people suffer because of one person drunk on a plane kicking off. How much of our money is spent in theNHS on sorting out drunk people on a Friday and Saturday night.

I have enjoyed watching the world cup so far (its the only football I ever watch) but I wont go out and watch it. I would never taken my kids (when I have them) to a football match, its not worth the risk. Besides rugby is far better, safer and more polite!

England win  and Hamilton on pole at Silverstone

Good luck to Lewis for the home GP tomorrow.....

And good luck to England later in the week.....

…..You know, if England make it to the final on Sunday, we might have to bring the AGM forward a little - so those who want to watch the game can set off early!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

End of the road but what a journey. You did your country proud guys.:thumbup1:

I hear that so often when a team looses, if a team win`s they are hero`s, If they loose, they are still hero`s, and right there is the problem.

They lost against an apparent inferior eastern European team, in fact the stats after the match showed the shots at goal and which end of the pitch the most game play was, and England did not come out well in either, that said I did not watch it, instead I painted some wood and watched it dry and it was fascinating.

Jeff

Jeff

They beat a team of farmers 6-1, narrowly beat Tunisia in the dying seconds, lost to Belgium's B team, drew with Columbia without their star player, beat Sweden who are absolutely dreadful...

Lost to Croatia because they are a far superior team.

As I expected really, had they met harder teams they would have been out ages ago! The fact that they got to the Semi Final really flattered them.

Wales did the same in the Euros but we did beat teams that were supposed to be better than us!

So yeah I don't agree with the heroes label, they performed as I expected against the teams that they faced. France would have run a train through them in the final had they got there.

It's coming home

Englands modus operandi:

Play well for 35 minutes, score. Come out at half time completely different and fall asleep. Get caught napping and start drawing, fail to up their level, start loosing. forget that it is a knockout and not a league game, pass the ball a bit. Realise with 5 mins to go that they are loosing...loose.

Its been the same for as long as I have been alive.

A few things I will take from this world cup:

A lot of cheating from many different teams, mostly south american.

The level of ref'ing has been pretty bad and bias

VAR was useless...I suspect on purpose so they can have an argument for scrapping it.

England players should have salaries slashed and national team training doubled. National team should out rank anything and everything.

In 4 years time, hopefully we will see a better more mature team, until then Im off to watch the rugby
