Well, it's my own fault for not addressing it when I first noticed the paint bubbles :crying: the great killer of 300zx's everywhere has taken hold of my rear sills and subsequently caused her to fail the mot.

I've found a local garage that will repair the sills, if I supply the panels, for £300, but thats on the condition they don't find the rot has gone too far. Does that sound about right price wise?

On the other hand I could get myself a mig welder and have a bash at it myself, although I'm scared I'll bugger it up and be left in a worse position than I started in. I really don't want to have to resort to breaking the car for parts, she's only an n/a auto, but I'd still prefer to save her from the scrap man if possible!

I'd appreciate any advise people might have, and any suggestions on alternative body shops around bristol!

I was thinking 8.5x18 et32 for the front and 9.5x18 et35 rear - I know bugger all about offsets, but that's what I have at the moment and they fill the arches just fine with no rubbing etc. I am, of course, open to suggestions from Si or Andrew on the subject...

By way of reference these are mine: 18x8.5J (35mm offset) and 18x9.5J (41mm offset) with 245/40 and 275/35 tyres.

You can see how they look in the gallery:

Apologies to the OP.

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

These........

....And the supplier is only in Reading, so I can pop along to see an example before buying. They do custom drilling and off-set, so I can (hopefully) get the set-up just right; and for about £800-£900 for the set (wheels only, of course)....!

Nice

They're lovely Richard!

Thanks Andrew......

No problem! They are some lovely looking wheels

After much begging, I've convinced my brother in law to relinquish his mig welder so I can have a bash at it myself. His mini will have to wait until I'm done

I don't think I could convince him to drive to Bristol and weld my car for me, but I'll definitely be chasing him for advice

While I'm at it, where can I buy a replacement steering rack gaitor/boot? I've been searching around and can't find one anywhere. I did read somewhere that z32/z33/s14 ones are the same, is anyone able to verify that?

Part number for the steering rack gaitor is: 4820310V25

Not too sure if this is individually or as a pair.

Try getting a price from MJP also.

If you have additional stuff to order from the US, they're much cheaper : https://conceptzperformance.com/search.php?search=4820310V25

I used 200sx ones ones on mine which where available from Euro Car Parts, a fraction of the price of Z32 ones. I can’t remember though wether they were from an S13 or 14.
